This author never disappoints this time we follow the story of Emily who is keeping a big secret and as she starts a relationship with a famous actor are either of there intentions genuine. Can anyone trust each other and are the facts about their past darker than either of them could ever imagine. I can’t spoil this so can’t say much but it’s a great read and not to be missed!

Twisty! I did t like any of the characters, but the storyline drew me in enough to keep me engaged. I wasn’t thrilled with the ending, either, in many ways. Overall, it was just ok.

★★★★ 3.5 stars (rounded up)

I can hardly believe this is my 14th read by Sheryl Browne so needless to say she is one of my favourite authors. Her books always feature something different or out of the ordinary and I am always interested to see how she would spin each new idea.

Some of her books are stand out hands down five star reads and when I think of those, "The New Girlfriend" (my personal favourite) always comes to mind. Having said that, each new book has a lot to live up to knock that one out of the ballpark as it was phenomenal. Some have come close and yet not quite. But I digress...

This tale of secrets, lies and plenty of deceit centres on Lily, a woman with her own secrets, who sets out to lure the very eligible and good looking actor Alex Morgan into trusting her to his secrets. What she didn't envision was falling for him. And then when he shows a moment of aggression, Lily takes flight, fearing for her safety. Thus leading her down a rabbit hole of life on the run and looking over her shoulder.

A little drastic? OK, I though Lily was a tad melodramatic. And yet I could understand her fear, given what she had been through but in my honest opinion, I don't think Alex displayed any of the behaviour she was attributing to him and found her reasoning a little redundant.

Alex isn't stupid. He knows Lily is up to something and he suspects she just wants to fleece him - after all, isn't that what all women want with someone famous? But he is smart. He just doesn't apply those smarts all of the time and therefore ends up drawing his own conclusions which, while not entirely far from the truth, are completely off base. And then when he confronts her, he doesn't even give her the chance to have her say. That is a pet peeve of mine. How can you have an arguement/discussion when only one of you is doing the talking? And he does ALL the talking, despite him suggesting "they should talk". What that translates to is he has his say before she can refute his accusations because what he thinks must be the truth. Lily ends up leaving and fearing for her safety.

Both Lily and Alex are damaged. Both of them are the product of the environment in which they lived respectively, leaving them fearful and trusting no one. Their relationship (if you could call it that) was doomed from the start.

And so Lily disappears. Taking with her all her secrets and thensome. When Alex tracks her down some years later, nothing is as it seems.

We are given a whole host of suspects to choose from and I hovered between two due to the clues she had peppered throughout the story...but were they that or red herrings creating a clever smokescreen with her sleight of hand. While you look over there, you won't see what's happening over here. Did I have the right suspect? Or was she to surprise me with another? You'll have to read it to find out!

Another entertaining read from Sheryl, though I felt it was a little slow to start. But once Lily disappeared, things started to get more interesting. It was at this point (and beyond) I felt that the author would have probably been best to have the story unfold through the two timelines and then have them collide in a culminating climax. I feel that would have kept the pace moving throughout and not just the second part of the story. Dropping titbits as each timeline unfolded revealing to us just enough to whet our appetites before shifting to the alternate timeline would have kept us turning the pages even faster. That's just my opinion as I love that style.

Overall, an entertaining thriller that keeps us engaged throughout and tying all the loose ends up in the conclusion. And yet, in true Sheryl Browne style, leaving the reader to make what they will from the final words she imparts.

I would like to thank #SherylBrowne, #Netgalley and #Bookouture for an ARC of #KeepMeSafe in exchange for an honest review.

Alex and I haven’t been dating for very long when I go to his place for the first time. Feeling self-conscious as I notice a thread coming loose on my dress, he pours me a glass of wine and I take in the pristine room and expensive furnishings. Everything here is perfect, too perfect. Where are the personal touches, the souvenirs from his life? Where are the photos of his friends and family?
‘You can trust me,’ Alex says as he hands me the wine, and my heart beats wildly in my chest. I really want this to work, especially after the disaster of my last relationship. ‘You can trust me too,’ I say, avoiding his eye and wondering if I’m as safe as I thought I was.
As our relationship progresses and we spend more time together, I begin to make plans for our future. Everything is perfect, but one thing is
Both of us are lying. One of us is dangerous…

My Thoughts :
We meet Lily Jameson, who is out to meet actor Alex Morgan and what better way than to place herself at a wedding she knows he will attend, as Lily literally falls at Alex’s feet after tripping up the two become close but what is Lily hiding?!.
As the two spend more time together, Lily never expected to fall for him. She has her secrets and so does he, maybe she is just be after his money!. Soon we are taken on a fast paced roller coaster ride when Lily goes on the run, a few years pass and soon we are thrown back into the action once again.
Sheryl Browne is always one of my go to Authors, she has a unique writing style that makes you connect with the characters and want to learn more about them.
The story kept me on my toes with the twists and turns throughout.
And it had a level of suspence that makes you want to keep reading.
Looking forward to more soon from Sheryl Browne.

I have enjoyed a few Sheryl Browne thrillers and after reading Keep Me Safe, I am ready to go back and read any that I have missed. Lily and Alex met at a wedding, and they hit it off right away, but Lily is keeping a secret, she was there to purposely meet Alex. Alex is a famous actor and wonders if Lily is only dating him for his money, but they have a connection, until Lily's secret comes out. What happens next is a cat and mouse game with Lily hiding, keeping her mother's whereabouts a secrets and waiting for the next shoe to drop.

Wow, Keep Me Safe kept me on the edge of my seat. I never knew what was going to happen next. I had my suspicions throughout the book, and one of them was right, but I didn't know it was until the end. Lily has a sad backstory and I was invested in her story right away. Alex also has a sad story, and it was difficult for him to trust, which made Lily's secret all the worse. This book was extremely well-written and plotted and the characters well-developed. Even when I didn't like what was happening, I still liked the characters. With the suspense, danger, tension and twists, Keep Me Safe was a well paced story. If you are a thriller fan, I highly recommend this one.

Sheryl Browne took what could have been a run-of-the-mill psych thriller to a new level with a unique twist in Keep Me Safe.
Lily and Alex meet at a wedding. But the reader knows from the beginning – through Lily’s POV – that Lily is being less than honest about her motivations for meeting Alex. Is Alex equally deceptive?
It’s hard to tell at first, but there are scenes that cast doubt on his legitimacy in the relationship.
The truth slowly emerges, but just when the reader thinks it’s going to continue in a “normal psych thriller way” the author pulls a switch. And then, all of a sudden, there is a whole new set of issues with the relationship between Lily and Alex.
Who is telling the truth? Who is hiding important information? Who is causing Lily’s paranoia to go into overdrive – and is Lily rightfully concerned?
The second half of the book feels like it is on a completely different level from the introductory chapters. There are twists, mistaken (or hidden) identities, and revelations that will keep the reader in an, “oh my goodness, no WAY!” frame of mind.
And, as usual with this author’s books, there are a couple of last-minute twists that make the reader question everything they believed in the story.
I love this author and Keep Me Safe is certainly one of her best. I can’t wait for her next psych thriller.

This book kept me on the edge of my seat and forever wondering who I could trust.
Loved the pace of it and really enjoyed the story.

Girl meets boy, boy and girl fall in lust, boy and girl are lying to each other, but which one of them may be dangerous? Whose secrets will come out first? Are either of them even likable enough to care?

Keep Me Safe was a solid 3 star read for me.
Here’s why:
First, it was a very up and down read for me in terms of interest and pacing.
- The beginning of this book did not draw me in at all. I don’t know if it was the writing, the premise or the familiar trope, but it took me about a month to pick up this book and actually make it past the first few chapters.
- After a while it morphed into a page turner where I was disappointed I didn’t stick it out sooner!
- Then, it would lull for again and I’d have to force myself to keep going.
Next, I think some of the direction of the plot lines were unnecessary and hindered the back stories and character development.
- Toward the end, I found myself questioning why some of the story lines were even included. It made the story in its entirety more forgettable in my opinion because it bogged down the overall book.
- The ending itself was a little too unhinged and unbelievable for my liking as well.
Overall, I chose 3 stars for Keep Me Safe because it was enough of a page turner for me that I was interested in the outcome and the overall plot. However, the lack of likable characters and the far fetched ending solidified this as fine, but not memorable.
Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for the opportunity to read this ARC!

Keep Me Safe is full of complex characters with many layers that keep peeling away until the crazy end! I couldn’t put this gripping psychological thriller down until I got to the bottom of all the twists!

Keep Me Safe by Sheryl Browne is another fast-paced and thoroughly addictive offering from this always compelling author.

Lily and Alex meet at a wedding and, both being single and lonely, they sense an immediate connection. But from the very start of their relationship, Lily misrepresents herself as something she is not. For his part, Alex wonders if it is only his money that draws others, and it quickly becomes clear that he too has some secrets of his own.

This pacey thriller will keep you guessing as these duplicitous characters spin their narratives. Nothing, naturally, is what it seems.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for an ARC.

Omg this is one book I'll love to go back and start all over again. The plot is great. The writing is digest able. Highly recommend

Two lonely people meet and one is under false pretenses. Lily has a secretive and dark past and Alex can’t trust anyone because he is a rich and famous actor and has been taken advantage of before for his money. This is a romantic suspense novel. They fall for each other and as the story progresses you will be addicted and up all night, turning those pages. I’m not going to say much more other than that, it’s best to go in blind in this one but for those of you who like psychological thrillers that is what this is… full of twists and turns and a truly explosive ending.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and not 5 because it did take awhile for me to read this as a few other books were able to pull me away.

Yet another fantastic book from this author. So many twists and turns to this book and I certainly wasn't expecting the ending.

When Lily meets Alex Morgan, a well-known actor, at a wedding. They start to talk and enjoy a bottle of champagne. Not wanting to part, they head up to his hotel room. Thus begins a relationship.

Alex had been married and now his wife resides in a psychiatric hospital. Lily had been married to a man who had bullied and abused her. Both of them are not being honest with one another. When Lily realizes that Alex has picked up on some of the lies coming from her, she wonders if things are getting dangerous.

This story is supposed to keep the reader guessing about who the stalker is that breaks apart a mother and her daughter. To allow someone to terrorize you for years and not try to get the police to intervene is ridiculous. I found the book very tedious and way too long. Looking back at other books I have by this author, this seems to be my feelings in others of her books. Sorry, just not for me.

Copy provided by NetGalley in exchange for a fair and honest review.

This is the fifth I've read by Browne. She certainly knows how to write a good book or ten doesn't she?

Keep Me Safe is a fast paced psychological thriller that took straight down the rabbit hole into a story of complex characters, manipulation and lies.

The tension and suspense are prevalent throughout. There are dark undertones afoot and a family whose lives seem to revolve on a bed of deception and lies.

I found it easy to become emotionally invested into the characters, all of whom are extremely complex, untrustworthy and extremely duplicitous.

There are several twists and unexpected turns throughout and an ending that nicely ties up loose ends.

Both author and book come highly recommended by me.
