A big thanks to the publisher for providing me with this ARC! One look at this cover—and the title—and I knew I had to read this cute little book filled with adorable dogs romping around a Brooklyn park. This is a very cute little book that delivers feel-good dog stories without the tears and tissues at the end. I enjoyed following the stories of the dogs and their families, who are all going through life’s challenges. Even though this is a fun and fluffy book of dog stories, we’re dealing with some weighty issues—from dealing with a mom in rehab to living with anxiety amidst major life changes to losing a best friend. I can see a lot of youngsters finding at least one relatable character in this ensemble cast of dog lovers. My only gripe is that it’s too short, and I want more dog park fun! I highly, highly recommend this one for parents who like to read to their kiddos. The illustrations are super cute, and I’m sure this will be a gorgeous hardback once it hits the shelves on November 5.

This delightful middle grade novel will delight kids and adults alike! I loved the omniscient narrator who lets us into the heads of all of the characters -- including all the dogs! This book understands that every dog is the best dog ever, and dog-lovers of all ages will adore this story of furry friendship.

What a cute book about dogs, friends and family.
I think a lot of elementary kids will live this book and all the dogs.

Thanks NetGalley for this ARC.

The cover and title of this book is super cute!

The cadence of the book was off and felt like the sentences were interrupted by random facts and tips about dogs. I think I wish the story and the yays and nays about having a dog were seperated. For example, a list at the beginning or end of the book of what a dog can and cannot eat. I felt like the story kept getting interrupted. The voices given to the dogs was also a miss for me.

Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Children's for this advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

This one was adorable and a super simple story. I wouldn't count it as list worthy but great for any dog loving kids.

Cute easy chapter book for anyone who loves dogs. Everybody thinks they have the best dog/s and so do each of these kids in this story. Really cute illustrations for each chapter.

A variety of dogs and their owners converge on a neighborhood dog park in Brooklyn and get into all kinds of mischief. Many of the characters are in the same sixth grade class, and there is some friend drama, as well as some challenging family situations. There are a variety of characters, as well as a variety of dogs, represented, and I loved that this was a happy, upbeat story with realistic problems. I would definitely buy this for an elementary school library, where students will adore reading about slightly older kids and their dogs! Very fun book!

Cute storyline.
The banter of the dogs between one another and in response to their humans (though the humans couldn’t understand) is what makes this story unique.
The illustrations throughout are well done.
Thank you for letting me read the ARC of, All the Best Dogs!

I know so many kids who love animal stories. This was fun and entertaining. The book follows multiple perspectives but is easy to follow.

I'm always nervous when reading a middle grade novel involving dogs. So many of them have sad endings. This book is the exception; it is feel-good from start to finish, and that makes it a thoroughly refreshing and enjoyable read. The multitude of dogs we meet are oozing with cuteness and their humans are a delight. I love the interconnectivity woven throughout this story between both animals and people. Unlike many children's books, this one does feature some adults as key characters, and I loved that touch as well. Just as a heads-up, we do follow multiple perspectives, and the entire book is written in present tense. This may be a deviation from the norm for many young readers, but rest assured that Emily Jenkins knows what she's doing. Her writing style works really well here. In Summary, if you have a "best dog" and/or you are looking for a cute, feel-good story that still manages to touch on some serious stuff, this book is for you. I would recommend it wholeheartedly to all middle-grade readers and think many of their adults will enjoy it as well.
