I loved the wit as I followed along on Holly’s journey for self discovery. This was such a fun read.
Many thanks to the author and to NetGalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.
Hilarious! A self-help workbook novel - very unique.
Holly is horrified when she takes a Cosmo quiz and the results tell her that she's hollow (hollow Holly!! hysterical!) - yes, because those quiz's are meant to be taken soooo seriously!! Well, yes, she takes it very seriously and intends doing something about it.
So she goes out and immediately intends adding to her already large collection of self-help books. After all, she's a stressed-out mom of three, whose husband is often away. She finds a workbook called Discover your Inner Goddess, and before she tosses it on the pile with the rest of them, she opens it up and there's something about it that makes her want to actually work through making the changes that the book describes.
And so begins her (and the reader's) laugh-out-loud journey on the road to self-discovery and a new Holly!
It's quite a road, but it's light-hearted and such fun and she's just so determined that you can't help enjoying yourself and wanting to try a few changes out for yourself.
Just lovely!
This was a fun, quirky look inside the life of a woman who hides her true self and insecurities behind sarcasm and wit. I received it awhile back from NetGalley in exchange for a review, and I never sent my review.
Holly, the main character discovers in a personality test that she may be a shallow person. This is her sometimes funny, yet heartbreaking look at self-evaluation. She tackles her personal demons of self-image, self-worth, world perspective, and her own level of maturity. A great read, both rewarding and funny at the same time.
GIIIIIRL. Seriously? I got into it at the beginning because I found myself forgiving the excess and shallowness because I expected it to get better. It didn't get much better! Sure, Holly does go through some transformation, but she's honestly just as unlikable as the new her as she was in the beginning.

This is a funny book that makes you think. A beach read with a positive message.
Wasn't able to read and review this book due to a difficulty downloading.
I started this book on FOUR separate occasions and I could not get into it. It was dry and boring from the get go and it just seemed poorly written. It was an immediate let down. The description seems to offer so much, but the book fails to get us there. I did not finish this book.
