This was such a fun read and perfect for kids transitioning to reading chapter books. I like that at the end of chapters you can see a row of stars that represent how many chapters there are in the book and that every time you get finished with a chapter a star gets filled in. There is praise on the end of some of the chapters that you’ve read x amount of chapters’ time for a treat. The illustrations are in black and white but they are so great and the story is so funny with the mishaps that Muffin and Ziggy the guinea pigs get into. Poor Muffin just wants some order and Ziggy is all about the chaos. Super cute read and I can’t wait to see what Muffin and Ziggy get into next.

I predict that kids will love this book. Initially, I was unconvinced, but once you get past the backstory it's just a carrot patch of fun. I expect future books will be even more exciting.

This has great characters and a really fun storyline.
The chapters are perfect for kids because they are short and it was so easy to read.

Sparkle Pigs #1: Carrot Chaos is the first adorable book in a new early chapter book series by Kit Holliday. Short chapters, lots of action, and cute black-and-white illustrations make this book a great choice for newly independent readers. Guinea pig Muffin likes things tidy and clean. She likes her life to be orderly and reasonable. Then, she gets a new roommate. Or rather, a new hutchmate. Ziggy is wild and messy and loves excitement. Muffin doesn't think she can ever grow to like Ziggy. Then they discover a secret door to another world, a world of guinea pigs who love food, parties, and fabulous costumes. Can the two pigs work together to get back home? Guinea pigs are often a child's first pet and are generally loved by children everywhere. That makes them a great choice for the main characters in a chapter book. Kit Holliday has created a fast, fun read for the first book in this series. I can't wait to see what comes next.

The kids and I absolutely loved this book! The characters were darling, and the storyline was so fun! A great book for kids.
