This has great characters and a really fun storyline.
The chapters are perfect for kids because they are short and it was so easy to read.

Short chapters, lots of action, and cute black-and-white illustrations make this book a great choice for newly independent readers. Guinea pig Muffin likes things tidy and clean. She likes her life to be orderly and reasonable. Then, she gets a new roommate. Or rather, a new hutchmate. Ziggy is wild and messy and loves excitement. Muffin doesn't think she can ever grow to like Ziggy. Then they discover a secret door to another world, a world of guinea pigs who love food, parties, and fabulous costumes. Can the two pigs work together to get back home? Guinea pigs are often a child's first pet and are generally loved by children everywhere. That makes them a great choice for the main characters in a chapter book. Kit Holliday has created a fast, fun read for the first book in this series. I can't wait to see what comes next.

The kids and I absolutely loved this book! The characters were darling, and the storyline was so fun! A great book for kids.
