Enjoyed this one even more than the first!

There were a lot of twists and turns with this one bringing in a history of cases as well as new terrifying ones!

I enjoyed the MCs penchant for not backing down and the wrap up left me satisfied!

Recommend to thriller and romantic suspense fans (thought the romance is very subtle in this one) for sure!

This gets right into it. This keeps you guessing and you will question everyone. And spoiler, book 3 coning June 2025!!

The Last Hunt wasn't presented as a second part of the series. But without knowledge of the first book, I enjoyed this one quite well. The mystery and constantly growing paranoia was emphasized by perfect narration. It is a perfect book for the spooky season.

Kept me wanting “just 5 more minutes.” Sucked me in. Alaska, murder, romance. Realized it’s a book 2, so I’ll have to go read book 1, but it stood on its own well.

I truly enjoy Audrey Cole’s writing style. She knows how to really make your heart pound from the action & suspense in her stories.

This was the second book in this series and I enjoyed it just as much as the first, if not more!

Cole really knows how to make you question who is the culprit and suspect every character possible right until the end. I was left with a few questions at the end, which took away a little bit of the story for me, but overall this was truly enjoyable and I definitely recommend the series!!

The narrator also does a fantastic job delivering on the suspense factor!!

This was such a fun thriller, there were so many twists and turns I didn’t really see the true killer coming. I loved that this was set in Alaska- something about the rugged wilderness makes it more thrilling? If that’s possible.

I really wasn't into this book. That made more sense when I found out that it is the second book in a series, of which I didn't know. I thought it lagged a lot but by the end it had picked up some.

Beautifully crafted, dark, dynamic and with characters you can really get behind, I loved every minute. Special props to the narator Leslie Howard for this performance, brilliant!

A pulse-pounding, character-driven, unputdownable, fast-paced Alaskan thriller!

Our heroine, Cameron, thinks she already survived this actual monster, but did she?

About 1/3 of the way through the book, I realized this was an ARC for book 2 in a series. The Last Hunt would work as a standalone—it is THAT GOOD. However, I am excited to go check out the first book, especially if Leslie Howard narrates part 1 of the series as well! She was the perfect narrator for this tale!

The Last Hunt by Audrey J Cole is the 2nd book in The Final Hunt series. It was just as captivating as book one in this series.

I highly recommend before binge reading this that you begin with book one, The Final Hunt first. I do believe you could totally read this and not book one, but why miss out on such a fantastic read.

After reading book one I was dying to know what was in store for Dane & Cameron and Detective Tanner. I really enjoyed book two. This is a great Alaskan thriller. The narrator did a good job with storytelling and kept me engaged. This is definitely a book that will keep you engaged from the start to the very end! As well as keeping you on the edge of your seat!

It’s been a while since I read a thriller that I was utterly engrossed in - I couldn’t put this one down. Even though I didn’t read the first book, I fell right into step with Cameron and the fear she felt when a young school teacher was killed, hurling past terrors into the present.

The author did a fantastic job of misdirecting and placing red herrings as another young woman is killed, shattering the nerves of the townspeople in the small town of Tok, Alaska. These killings feel all too familiar to the serial killings back in the ‘90s, a killer who was never caught, but believed to be a law officer.

For Cameron, this was striking too close to home. Whether the killer from her past had returned from the dead or it was the cop in her bed - someone was trying to kill her.

This was fast-paced, suspenseful, and chilling. It kept me on my toes, and I wasn’t quite sure who was behind the killings until the end. I highly recommend it!

This book is only going to get a shaky three stars from me, but I feel that Is partly on me. When I selected this book from NetGalley, I did not realize it was the second in a series. If I had known, I would have read the first book before reading this one. I found myself confused in the beginning as the author often referenced events that had happened previously. I will say the author did an excellent job creating enough bridges to the previous text that I was able to fill my knowledge gaps and still find my way through this story. I do enjoy a suspense thriller, But I found this one moving much slower than I typically enjoy. I felt like it was a perfect length to keep my attention to end, but did not leave me wanting more from this author. Thank you, NetGalley and McMillan, audio for the ARC of this audiobook.

I thought this was a decent book! The characters were good and the overall plot was entertaining.
It wasn't anything mind-blowing but it was entertaining and well written.

This picks up the summer after [book:The Final Hunt|58467165]. Cameron has moved to Tok and taken over the town's dental practice. She is in a relationship with Dane. She has gone back to using her maiden name. Things are going well. Until a young teacher's body is found along the highway. Meanwhile, Seattle detective Tanner Mulholland has tracked John to the cabin in Alaska. There is evidence he was there- and injured- but no body. He begins to think Cameron was right and he is still alive. Did John kill this woman?

While I enjoyed this, I liked [book:The Final Hunt|58467165] better. You learn some information in this book that changes what you know from [book:The Final Hunt|58467165]. That really bothered me and I think it kept me from fully enjoying this one.

Leslie Howard narrates the audiobook. It was good- very expressive. (Too expressive for me, but I know many will appreciate it.)

This was a solid thriller! Definitely had an ending I never could have predicted, I thought I had it figured out--could not have been more wrong! Enjoyed the narrator

Cameron Prescott hopes she left the pas behind. After believing her murderous husband is finally dead, she starts over iwth her state trooper boyfriend. But, when a new body shows up with her husband’s signature, she is horrified to think he is somehow still alive and out there. As more bodies come to light, Cameron begins to wonder just how well she knows her new boyfriend.

This was good but I think I would have enjoyed it more if I had read the previous book first. I think it can definitely be read as a standalone but there will be more appreciation for the characters and story with the background from the first book. I will be updating my review after I read the first book then give this another listen :)

Like the previous book, this story is full of twists, secrets, and a satisfying ending. I don’t want to give too much away, just know I loved this book just as much as the first one and I highly recommend reading both books! I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this audiobook and the narrator did a fantastic job.
