Lucy Score’s No More Secrets is a delightful blend of humor, emotion, and small-town charm. With her signature flair for creating endearing characters and laugh-out-loud moments, Score delivers a story that is as comforting as it is compelling.
The dynamic between the leads is electric, filled with banter, vulnerability, and undeniable chemistry. The small-town setting is brimming with colorful side characters and cozy details, adding richness to the story and making it feel like a place readers will want to revisit. Score’s knack for balancing humor with poignant emotional moments shines, pulling at heartstrings while keeping the tone light and engaging.
However, some of the story’s conflicts feel a bit drawn out, and certain resolutions come together too neatly, leaving a touch of predictability. That said, these elements don’t detract too much from the overall enjoyment of the book.
No More Secrets is a charming and uplifting romance that’s perfect for fans of small-town love stories with plenty of heart and humor. Lucy Score once again delivers a tale that’s as much about community and healing as it is about finding love.
I'm a huge fan of Lucy Score's books and No More Secrets is one of my new favorites. Her humor leaks into the pages and her characters are always fun to read.
In *No More Secrets* by Lucy Score, Summer Lentz, a high-powered journalist, is sent to a small town to write an article about Carter Pierce's organic farm. Quickly, her sharp questions and city lifestyle clash with Carter's quiet, post-military life. Despite their differences, undeniable chemistry sparks between them as they struggle with their own secrets—Carter's PTSD and Summer's fear of sharing her own health struggles. As their connection deepens, both must confront their pasts and decide if love is worth the risk of letting go of the walls they've built.
A small town contemporary romance will win over readers with its Hallmark movie setting topped with character depth and a few spicy scenes.
Great start to the series, really cute! I love a good small town matchmaker romance. It was short enough you could read it quick but still want more rather than sifting through too many details for word count. The characters reminded me a bit of a Hallmark romance beginning, big city girl completely out of place meets hometown "Old MacDonald and his organic farm" boy and is forced to adapt to this quieter way of life. The instant attraction played right in as well. Cute escape read that feels like a hug!

Meet Carter, a veteran who has returned to his hometown of Blue Moon to run a vegetable farm on his family’s property. When a magazine approaches him to feature his farm, he reluctantly agrees to let them visit.
Enter Summer, a journalist spending a week on the farm to develop her story. She’s ready to roll up her sleeves, get her hands dirty, and immerse herself in Carter’s world.
As a fan of Lucy Score, I was excited to dive into this book. It’s part of one of her earlier series, now being re-released by Bloom Books. With eight books in the series, it looks like I have my work cut out for me—what a delightful challenge!
This book, at around 270 pages, was a quick and enjoyable read. The story was fast-paced, steamy, and spicy, but it didn’t go overboard, which I personally prefer.
It features a heartwarming found-family trope and a group of close-knit brothers—a recurring theme that I’ve realized I really enjoy. If you’re a fan of Lucy Score’s other books, you’ll find a lot to love here. And if cozy romances with a touch of heat are your thing, this one’s a must-read!
I think this was one of my favorite Lucy Score books. I loved Carter and Summer and the charming town that made me want to move there. I think Score did a great job writing about the PTSD aspect without overwriting or dragging it out. She also did a great job introducing all of Carter's family and the town without making it feel like a big list of character introductions since this looks to be a series now about that family and town now. I was so happy to read this that I ran right out to start the next book! Thank you to Sourcebooks/Bloom Books and NetGalley for the early access in exchange for my honest opinion.
Oh gosh,
How I love this author. Who doesn’t want 200 acres, a farm and a garden. I sure as heck do. Lovely story,.
Thanks NetGalley for this ARC
I love love Lucy score books and this one was definetly not an exception. This is the first book in Blue moon series and is becoming my favorite so far . Carter is lovely and knows perfect how to play his cards well. He and Summer are the most adorable couple overall this is a fun sexy story that will make you run and buy the rest of the series to have more of the awesome characters.
The comfort offered by Lucy Score's found family + romance reads is >>>>>>
I loved this book so so much, it was really wholesome and cheery. The grumpy-sunshine was handled really well, and I absolutely loved the third act gestures 😭 I can't wait to read more books in this series
-- ty to the author, the publisher and Netgalley for an advanced copy!
I adore Lucy Score, and really enjoyed the first 75% or so of this book. The overdramatic third-act went a little off the rails for me. I think this reflects this being one of Lucy's earlier books. Regardless, I would not hesitate to pick up the other books in this series or any other books by Lucy Score.
3 stars. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a complimentary copy of this book. These opinions are my own.
3.5 stars
This was the first book in a series, and took a while to get off the ground after setting up the small town and its characters. I had difficulty relating to the main characters in this one and found the situation to be unrealistic at best and unprofessional at worst.
Summer Lentz is a writer at a NYC fashion magazine, who is sent on assignment to the small upstate town of Blue Moon Bend to write a piece on organic farming practices at Pierce Acres Farm. She finds the proprietor to be Carter Pierce, a surly Afghan war vet suffering from PTSD, who is suspicious of her big city fashion and ways. But in a supreme case of "man written by a woman", he is immediately touchy feely with her, and calls her honey, which made my hackles rise. The town folk, seeing them together, start up the gossip mill, and try to push the two of them together. Somewhat unprofessionally, they do start to see each other during her time at the farm, and try to make a long distance relationship work once she returns to NYC. After an unforgivable work betrayal, Summer realizes that a simple life may be what she needs, but then needs to come clean about the secrets in her past that may prevent Carter from having the peaceful future he deserves. This was a book where I was more invested in the quirky Woodstock type town and it's colorful residents than the main characters themselves, who I found to be flat. Even Carter's brothers had more personality than him, though they were still unrealistic stereotypes. Unfortunately this one was a miss for me, though I will still be reading brother Beckett's story, since he was my favorite of the brothers.
I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. I enjoyed this delve into Blue Moon, Carter, and Summers' stories. As a side note, I prefer this cover to the sultry farm man on the cover of the copy I put into GoodReads.
It was cute but not really memorable. I'm sure in a month or so I will know nothing about this book. The struggle was kind of hard to connect to as a regular person. I mean, they're all hot and tortured by a past. Sometimes I can empathize and sometimes I want to just roll my eyes and tell the character to get over themselves and stop whining. I loved some of them, don't get me wrong, but it just seemed so Hallmark movie perfect.
It's official: I'm a full Lucy Score stan at this point. While this series starter predates her Knockemout trilogy -- and is among the first books she wrote -- it's still a well-rounded and well-written, charming, funny AND steamy romance with a colorful setting and cast of entertaining characters. One of the things I love most about Score's books is that it's never JUST about the primary couple; there are always colorful side characters adding a real homey, lived-in feel to her small towns, and the foreshadowing to future stories/romances is always fun. A juicy and sweet little read that's perfect for the cooling fall temps. Reading a Lucy Score romance always feels like a warm sweater and hot mug of cocoa to me. Can't wait to devour the rest of the series!
Such a great story, kept me hooked on every page and never wanted it to end. Another great story from Lucy Score!
good romance and loved how they found love and each other. They survived their trials and found their way back to each other. another great romance.
Although I enjoyed the book it really dragged on longer than it needed to. There were so many things going on and and fit into one book that it was a bit much. However the author did a good job of wrapping up the story and giving us a beautiful HEA.
DNF @ 36%. I usually love Lucy Score's books, but "No More Secrets" has evaded my interest the three times I have picked it up. It just feels like there is a lot of nothing happening. I am not a huge fan of insta-love as a whole, and I did not love it here. They fall in love way too quickly and barely even know each other or spend any time with each other! The story on top of it is, frankly, boring. I feel so bad saying that because I usually adore Lucy Score! I love small-town romances, but there are only so many conversations about produce and farming I can handle and want to hear. Carter is almost *too* perfect in my eyes. Farmer, vegetarian, veteran, small-town hero, sexy thighs, loves his family, all-around nice guy... no grey detected. I needed a little more angst, and I just wasn't getting it. Maybe I will pick this one back up at a later date. Good banter, though, which is expected with Score's writing.
Thank you to NetGalley, Lucy Score, and SOURCEBOOKS Bloom Books for the complimentary ARC of this book. All opinions are my own. I was not compensated for this review.
I enjoyed the new cover. I went into the book knowing this was a rerelease of one of her older works and kept that in mind. Definitely not my favorite of the Lucy Score series, but overall it was Sweet quick read with relatable characters and a decent plot. The book is a little less developed than some of her more recent books, but it still had the Lucy score style I loved.
