Lauren Asher, this is what imagine when I say Lauren Asher. While her other books are amazing this feels true to Lauren. It feels like a fun cute F1 romance. I love it.
Collided by Lauren Asher is a phenomenally fascinating Formula 1 romance that perfectly combines emotions, humor & spice that is sure to make your heart race. I am fully convinced I will enjoy any Lauren Asher romance because the writing is just out of this world.
This is book #2 in the Dirty Air series, but it can easily be ready as a standalone. However, this series is incredible & I recommend anything by this author.
Collided is great for fans of…
🏁 Formula 1 Romance
🏁 Friends to Benefits to Lovers
🏁 Close Proximity
🏁 Bucket List
Lauren Asher continually writes stellar romances that are full to the brim with emotional heartache but she also provides the glue to put your heart back together. Collided is a beautiful story with surprisingly deep histories & backgrounds that provide so much depth to the characters.
Lauren Asher is easily one of the best romance authors & I can’t say enough wonderful things about their remarkable work. I cannot wait for this series to continue & I am very excited to read more from these drivers. I also would love to see the brother get his own romance.
If you are looking to get lost in a mixture of heart achingly beautiful, steaming spice & heartwarming feels, I recommend reading Collided!
Massive thanks to NetGalley & Bloom Books for the gifted copy, which I voluntarily read & reviewed.
A friends-to-lovers f1 romance that checks every box!
“Collided” follows Liam Zander, Formula 1’s golden boy, and Sophie Mitchell, the daughter of the team principal to his rival on the grid. Everyone is against their friendship, including Liam, who considers Sophie his greatest fantasy brought to life. So when he learns of her naughty bucket list, he wants to strike a deal. One season. One list. One dirty secret. What was once platonic is destined to be catastrophic.
The chemistry between Sophie and Liam is apparent from their very first meeting. They chose to ignore it, but Sophie’s list only solidifies their connection. I could not get enough of their deliciously slow development from friends to friends-with-benefits to lovers. The added tension stemming from their age difference and the fact that they are on opposing F1 teams further invested me in their relationship. I think the “will they or won’t they” back and forth went on for longer than it needed to, but the payoff was rewarding. The epilogue gave me butterflies! I actually teared up a little.
Both of them grapple with their own internal conflicts. Sophie is burdened by her father’s expectations of her. Liam’s past haunts him. I love that they met each other where they were at and helped each other grow as people.
I adored Sophie and Maya’s friendship in this one! Seeing more of the camaraderie between Noah, Jax, and Liam was also a highlight! Asher subtly sets up book 3 nicely through their interactions and I am looking forward to what is in store for Jax.
Liam + Sophie
-sports romance
-f1 racing
-friends to lovers
-friends with benefits
-she has a “fck it” list 😏
these two were inevitable & so hot for each other with their tension it was a nice change of pace!!
Thank you Sourcebooks, Bloom books & netgalley for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
omg Sophie is so quirky, she's so different, she's not like other girls 🤪🤪🤪 (sarcasm) honestly, she reminds me of the girl in the grocery store with the bag of chips on her head with the caption "she's so crazy"
this was my first F1 romance book and I was really looking forward to it. I like the premise of the book, the environment is new and exciting. However, i could not for the life of me get engaged in the story and their relationship!!
I will check out the other books in the series because I am intrigued by this world. I hope I enjoy the next ones better!
Collided: ★★★☆☆ (2.5)
3☆
Tropes:
Friends to lovers
Forced proximity
Forbidden romance (?)
This was actually another reread for me! This book follows Sophie Mitchell, daughter of an F1 racing manager who joins the F1 racing tour for the summer and befriends (or should I say friendzones) Liam Zander, the bad boy of F1 who is struggling to prove his worth to his team.
Liam begins the book trying to overcome a loss through reckless behaviors that lands him in hot water with his team manager and despite his desire of trying to be straight-edge this season, he can't help but be drawn to Sophie. Through much convincing, Liam convinces Sophie to help with her F*ck it list for the summer, with some rather *spicy* tasks.
One thing I liked about this book was that their chemistry was electric and palpable, despite Sophie's initial resistance. She ends up being the change he never knew he needed and next thing you know, it was not just about checking off tasks on the lists, but their growing relationship.
For racing fans and those who love smut, this is the book for you!!!
Overall: 3.5
I didn’t think I would like this book as much as I did. But can we talk about how the first chapter had me tearing up! At the beginning I felt like the plot was just going to be spice because of the list. But really it was Liam’s growth! And that extended epilogue 😱 Can we get a second generation series!! Overall I really enjoyed this book and thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to arc read it.
I absolutely adored this book so much. Liam and Sophie were so fun and adventurous which made the plot so great. Their dynamic was everything and the tension they had was immaculate.
I love a good friends to lovers story and this book made me so giddy because of all the things Liam would say to Sophie. I was smiling so hard my cheeks were hurting.
Overall just amazing vibes. These characters are just so lovable and I love this series with all my heart.
3.75 stars
I love Lauren Asher's writing. The only book I've read from this series is Redeemed, and I started it with high expectations since I've loved everything else I've read by her. I have to admit, though, it took a bit longer to get into this one.
Sophie and Liam grew on me as the book progressed. I loved Sophie's personality; she's an amazing FMC. I really liked the growth Liam showed throughout the story. The two have great chemistry, which Lauren developed perfectly.
It's a good read, but unfortunately, it's my least favorite from the author.
Thanks so much to NetGalley and Bloom Books for sending me this ARC.
Thank you to Sourcebook Bloom Publishing and NetGalley for the advanced copy of this re-release.
This is part of a series, but I read it as a standalone and didn't feel like I missed anything. This will by first F1 romance.
I love bad boys in books and Liam is a great MMC. Nerdy with a hard exterior. Hes a horny womanizer and the author leans into this persona. Sophie is the opposite, a daddy's girl who wears her innocence on her sleeve.
When she makes a f*ck it bucket list, Liam is more than happy to step in and help her check off items. This is a semi-slow burn with their friendship blooming around the halfway point.
It's a cute and spicy read, but doesn't have anything that sets it apart from any other sports romance.
Do I understand a thing about F1? No. Do I love F1 romance? Absolutely. I knew when I finished book 1 that I wanted Liam and Sophie's story. I did not, however, expect it to be as emotional as it was. Liam being a book nerd made me love him that much more. One thing did annoy me, the constant mentioning of how much Sophie kept in her bag. It felt unnecessary and didn't add anything to the story.
Overall, I found Collided by Lauren Asher to be a decent read, but it didn't quite meet my expectations. The story didn't hook me from the beginning and I struggled through the first half. However, I did appreciate Sophie's carefree and young personality, which was relatable and enjoyable to read about.
I found Liam to be a bit intense and dense at times, and I thought the insta-friendship with Maya was a bit unrealistic and off-putting. I would have liked to see more meaningful scenes and interactions between Sophie and Maya, as well as more development in their friendship.
I also would have liked to see more interaction between Sophie and her protective father throughout the story, especially since she went on the tour to be with him.
Overall, while Collided was an okay read, it wasn't my favorite book by Lauren Asher. I prefer deeper and more connected relationships in the stories I read, and I felt that was lacking in this book.
Thank you to NetGalley, Lauren Asher, and Bloom Books for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for my honest review.
Jumping back into the world of Dirty Air, after reading Throttled a while back, I was curious to read about Liam and Sophie. After all, they were quite present in the Throttled, and we already had a good introduction to them. And if I compare to Throttled, I would say that they are pretty much on the same level, though I did prefer the first book.
In Collided, we get to know more about Liam and Sophie, and see the chemistry play out on the pages to finally get to them being together. And it was fun to see them both work through her list, and to see her push herself. I don't know if I'm fully into the part of this being kind of a 'forbidden' romance between the two, as she is the daughter of the principals of one of his rival teams, and his team his against him potentially being with her. Still, I think it brought some interesting challenges that pushed him to figure out what really matters. Yet, I think it was really their friendship that made me root for them, because their dynamic was quite fun to see.
Overall, it was a fun read. I'll definitely have to continue the series, as I do want some Jax and Santi. I never expected to find myself reading about F1 drivers, but it is quite a interesting universe.
I loved this book! Lauren is a wonderful writer and this book was no exception! can't wait for more.
This was so good! I like the first book in this series but this one was awesome. I’m not a huge fan of friends to lovers but this might be my favorite ever!
This book follows the F1 bros from the first book but this one focuses on Liam and Sophie. You knew from the first one that something was up with them but you didn’t know what their deal was. You find out that Sophie pretty much friend zoned Liam and he is shook!
You get more of Sophie and Liam’s background in this book as well. They both have lost someone they care about in one way or another but Liam is letting that affect his life.
I really loved every second of this book. The double epilogues made my heart so happy!
Thank you NetGalley and Bloom Books for the arc of this book.
I absolutely adore Lauren's writing style! She has a knack for creating characters that just steal your heart and leave you wanting more. The banter between Liam & Sophie is always so entertaining, and the chemistry is off the charts. I especially love the friendships that develop throughout her books. As for the F1 boys, they have definitely taken over my heart.
3 stars ⭐️ this was a fast-paced, cute read but I had a hard time connecting with the characters.
Liam needed to smarten up and learn how to communicate properly and Sophie was boring at times. They still had a good relationship, and they did go through a lot of development in the second half.
I liked the ‘fuckitlist’ idea but not a big fan of fwb. Liam’s new list was adorable, and I loved the epilogue. Similar to the first book, we had some cringy moments.
I liked it, it was fun but also forgettable. I’ve heard good things about Jax’s book so I’m excited for that.
SPICE! SPICE! SPICE! This story revolves around Liam & Sophie, who are friends with benefits to lovers. This book is so well done - it doesn’t feel rushed. Lauren Asher really takes the time to dive deep into the emotions of the characters and gives insight to their mental headspace. The build up is intense and it’ll have you cheering for the best outcome.
Title: Collided by Lauren Asher
Rating: 4/5
Sophie might be my favorite FMC in this series! Her style is -chef's kiss- and I love how she brings Liam Zander down to his knees. He LOVES her SO MUCH and it was such a good slow burn. The combo of good girl and f-ckboy was TOO good.
A few of my favorite quotes:
-“My beautiful angel. Too wicked for heaven, too good for hell.”
-“That’s my fear with someone like you. You take and take until I have nothing left to give. You’d be easy to fall in love with until you walk away, breaking my heart in the process.”
-“She stamps herself onto my heart like she f*cking belongs there.”
Liam and Sophie were amazing! A lot of fun, adventure, childish, and some cheesy moments. I just love Lauren Asher’s writing and how she tells a story. I’m excited for the next book!
Thank you NetGalley and Bloom Books for the arc of this book.
