This… was not my favorite. So far it’s actually my least favorite of the Dirty Air series.
Mostly because a man who can’t commit will never be attractive, no matter how much spice there is 🥴 Yeah, yeah, I know they finally end up together at the end, BUT the fact that it literally takes the MMC up until like the last couple of chapters to realize that was icky. And while the storyline wasn’t necessarily my favorite, I was thoroughly engaged and finished this in under 24 hours.
Spice was like 3.5-4/5 🌶️🌶️🌶️
(Thank you, SOURCEBOOKS Bloom Books and NetGalley, for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.)
Sophie and Liam are one of the best friends/friends with benefits to lovers that I’ve ever read. The way their relationship grew and progressed was so consuming in the best way. The growth they showed emotionally and mentally made me happy. Love F1 and the series.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the arc of this book. Collided is the second book in the Dirty Air series by Lauren Asher. I have never been a fan of racing themed books but these books have changed my mind. This book is from Sophie and Liam's point of view. The story starts from around the time we were introduced to Sophie in Throttled, book one of the series. This book is a slow burn. I did enjoy Throttled more than this book but am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
That story ending was heart melting. Sophie and Liam’s story was one about personal growth and overcoming past hurts. Their friendship was so genuine and believable. Their chemistry was off the charts, as well as their spicy scenes.
My only qualm with this book was that I feel as if Liam’s past trauma should have been discussed more. It almost felt like there was no gradual overcoming of it, but happened very quickly after he realized his feelings for Sophie. I would’ve loved to read that he was going to therapy to deal with it.
I loved out little Maya and Noah cameos throughout as it gave us a more in depth perspective on their friendships.
Both sets of parents in this book were the epitome of perfect parents and more or less healthy relationship. A+ for that.
Overall, great story that had me crying in the second chapter and smiling in the epilogue. Can’t wait to read Jax’s story next!
Sophie is the daughter of Bandini team principal, James Mitchell. Liam Zander is the golden boy of Formula 1 racing and racer for Bandini’s biggest rivals, McCoy. Sophie and Liam make quick friends, much to everyone’s dismay. When Liam finds out she has a naughty bucket list, he strikes a deal.
I absolutely LOVED this sequel to the Dirty Air series. Liam is such a sweet and loving MMC that loves his girl HARD. 5,000 stars!
Collided is a steamy, angsty, high octane novel with a friends to lovers trope that will crash right into your heart. I really enjoyed this installment of the series and the steamy scenes were top notch. The beginning of this book is very heavy so I recommend checking trigger warnings but it definitely sets the tone for Liam's backstory and why he is the way he is. I loved to see his character growth throughout the book even though I wanted to smack him to get there a bit sooner. I did feel like this book maybe dragged a bit towards the latter half but overall it was a fun, steamy read and if you are a fan of any of Lauren's other books, you will definitely like this one.
I love the Dirty Air series and the friends-to-lovers romance between Sophie and Liam was a perfect second installment in this series. At some points, I was annoyed by each character: Sophie for being "not like other girls" and Liam for denying his feelings for Sophie. Still, it's a great series and I love to reread them!
I recently have learned about F1 racing from my son! The book made sense to me thanks to the education from him. I liked the smooth characters and the spice! Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. I plan to read about others.
This book was very slow and kinda put me into a slump.
I did liked that the Liam was relatable to many of us readers but Sophia was a bit too much. I also liked and enjoyed the bucket list scenes.
The ending was better than the beginning so I'm glad I finished. It was a cute read but not sure I'd recommend it to everyone.
I enjoyed reading this more that I thought I would. I was really surprised to know about Liam’s background and how he lost his best friend. That was a little shocking to read. As for sophie, it was fun to see her break down Liam’s walls and she definitely make him work for it. The whole being friends first was amazing too. Usually you see the characters instantly giving in when they declare their feelings, nut not with this couple. They actually got to know each other as friends. I don’t tend to like the friends to lovers trope but this time, I actually liked it.
P.S the prologue was amazing
I absolutely love Liam + Sophie. This book was so good and emotional. I was in tears from the start of 𝘾𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙙𝙚𝙙. Liam’s backstory was heartbreaking and tragic. But seeing him heal from that past trauma throughout this book was a beautiful thing. Sophie was so good for him. I loved her personality, and how bold she was. Her list was iconic. I really loved this book. The tension, the spice, the friends to lovers trope. Everything was so good, and THAT EPILOGUE. My heart is full of joy after reading that masterpiece.
Highly recommend this series. I love each of these characters so much! 💙

God this was amazing
I really liked how the sport in the book was an actual main topic, and the author knew what she was talking about.
I think the relationship between the characters is really fun and replicates a very real pace, the spice was creative and original.
The plotline is interesting and refreshing, there was always something happeneing in the story to keep the reader entretained, i could not put the book down.
The writing itself was very neat and it felt according to the story, the feelings were very clear and telling.
The characters were fun and recognizable, they seemed like real people and that is always very nice. The cameos always give a sense of reality and stability throughout the series and of course it was great here.
I will 100% be reading the whole series
she was cute! getting into lauren asher’s backlist is something ive been interesting in for what feels like eons after reading love redesigned by her and absolutely loving it. it feels like her writing has definitely improved with her more recent books, as this was a cutesy romance but overall lacking a bit in plot strength and romantic chemistry. i enjoyed it for what it was, and loved how much shorter it was compared to her later stuff, and i will most definitely be reading more from her!
I didn’t know if I could like Collided as much as the first book in this series, but I did! dare I say I liked it more? 😮
Sophie and Liam are some of my favorite characters I’ve ever met on the page. They are both full of life, passion, and quirks that make you want to be best friends with them both.
This book is sexy, vulnerable, and tons of fun. What more could you expect when you mix friends-with-benefits and a naughty bucket list?
Beneath all the F1 adventures and checklist-conquering is a story of loss, love, growth, and discovery! It’s a book that’ll have you swooning from start to finish.

Hellooooo Liam! What's not to love about a playful, golden boy F1 driver who promises to fulfil your bucket list, especially when there are some spicy to-do's?! Fall in love with him obviously. Only logical response for both myself and Sophie.
"Sophie Marie Mitchell, I would like to announce first and foremost that I have never known someone as incredible as you...The girls who's eyes twinkle as bright as the things she loves to watch. And while you were busy staring at the vast nothingness, Id watch you while envying a da*n sky."

Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for an ALC of this book in exchange for my honest review!
My my my, this was DELICIOUS! I’m deep in my Formula 1 obsession which makes these books all the more enjoyable. Did I picture a very specific current F1 driver while I read this and that made it even more enjoyable? Yes, yes I did. But in all seriousness, this book has everything I love in a modern day romance. The characters were vastly different from each other but it their path to being together was fabulous. The setting was fun, the relationship bumps felt realistic even though I have never been in a relationship with a rich famous driver. Liam made me swoon and blush, the mouth on that boy… oof. I loved seeing Sophie find herself and the relationship with her dad. And together they were incredible. This one felt like a big step up from the first book! I can’t wait to carry on with the series but first I gotta really soak in the gloriousness that is Liam Xander 🥵
4/5 stars
i first read this book back and 2023 and instantly fell in love with sophie and liam. after meeting them in book 1 (throttled) you just can’t help but want to know more!
tropes:
- formula 1 romance
- rival coaches daughter
- 🌶️/fun bucket list
- friends to lovers
- reformed playboy
- age gap (7 years)
- secret friends with benefits
- dual pov
- witty banter
collided follows liam, the player that needs to get it together or he will lose his career and sophie, the people pleasing coaches daughter who just wants to have a bit of fun.
from day one liam was obsessed with getting to know sophie, and sophie was eager to get away from him (or does she really?!). this book is filled with many friends, many activities, and over all so much fun that you just can’t put it down!!
thank you so much to netgalley and bloom books for this arc! this is a completely honest review (trust me i was obsessed with the indie edition of it)!
The golden boy of formula 1 has meet his match, who happens to be his boss daughter. He shouldn’t go there but he can’t help getting closer to her. Sophie herself is a quote unquote good girl but this summer things will be different. Before heading off to join the formula 1 tour she made a naughty list. I’ll give you one guess who offers to help her out.
It might sound like a silly plot but I kind of love it. A little too slow burn and there is a third act break up but other then that it’s really good! Sophie and Liam meet year ago so they’re already familiar with each other and they’re so fun together. Lots of banter, flirting and steamy moments.
But also some emotional ones, there was a death in Liam’s family and it hit him hard. This brought some depth to the character and throughout dealing with those emotions he shows a lot of growth.
All the tropes work well together, friends to lovers/ friends with benefits and age gap. Never thought I’d like the latter but turns out it can be really good. The new cover is adorable!
Collided, the second book in the Dirty Air series, follows Liam and Sophie. Liam is a driver for McCoy, and Sophie’s Dad is Team Principal for rival Team Bandini.
Unrelated, and I do NOT think this is who Asher had in mind…but when I think about Sophie’s Dad, I just imagine Toto Wolff (Team Principal of Mercedes). Like, I know that is not the plan…but its just what my brain puts together and yeah, it kind of cracks me up.
This was another amazing, suspenseful, and spicy book written about the F1 world. It was a great continuation of the series, in my opinion.
3.5/5
Didn’t love Liam’s story. Seemed too much of a jerk for me. Loved the friends to lovers trope. As well as the bucket list of items to complete together.
