Wow! I really loved this!
A girl who has to hide part of her identity and living suit of armor meet through their work in a castle, and little by little they get to know each other. This introductory volume did a great job of setting the scene for the story, giving us enough background on all of the characters to keep you interested but not enough that the story is predictable. I'm really interested to continue this and see where the story goes. I also love the art style, it's very different from anything I've seen recently, and the facial expressions on the characters are really well done. Definitely would recommend this for anyone that loves fantasy that's a bit more lighthearted.
Thank you to Net Galley and Ten Speed for sending me an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Thanks to NetGalley for the advanced copy.
Not gonna lie. I read this when it first came out on WebToons. Excellent series and I really enjoyed revisiting it. :D
Lucia has a secret that she has to hide, but she is ladies maid to the woman who will become the new queen. So when a suit of armor is brought to life and she gets a chance to learn about magic, she jumps at it.

Suitor Armor has been on my Webtoons TBR for far too long, so I was delighted to see it as a potential ARC read through Netgalley. I read through this delightful first volume in one evening, and it was, overall very enjoyable. There are strong Beauty and the Beast and Full Metal Alchemist vibes, and several other nods to differing fandoms. That being said, Suitor Armor stands on its own with diverse and intriguing characters.
The first volume of Suitor Armor lays the base for a much longer, complicated story. Delightful characters, interesting dynamics, and plenty of questions comprised this book, and I am looking forward to reading more. Why are the fairies at war with the humans? What will happen to each character when their secrets are finally revealed? How will this Beauty and the Beast-esque tale end? Just exactly how will that budding love triangle play out? Will I get to see more of those stunning wings? My prime thought after indulging in this lovely webtoon was more questions were peaked than answered, but I enjoyed the book enough to pursue future volumes.

**3.70 Stars**
Humans and Fairies are at war, which makes things kinda awkward for Lucia (a fairy) who as a child was adopted by the king and acts as the lady in waiting for the princess. When a mysterious hollowed suit of Armor arrives at the castle to compete in a tournament Lucia strikes up an unlikely bond with him. But soon after she's reminded just what the people she loves thinks of fairies.
This was a nice entry into this world, not a huge amount happened but it piqued my interest as to how the story is going to process! I'm very curious to see if a romance is destined between Lucia and Mr Armor, but so far I appreciate the gay side couple!
The art is also really beautiful which makes it a pleasure to flick through! I'll definitely be keeping my eye out for volume 2.
Thank you to NetGalley and Clarkson Potter/Ten Speed Press for an arc in exchange for an honest review.

I started following Suitor Armor's story on Webtoon since it first came out, and it's great to see all these titles coming out in physical format.
I love Lucia and her relationship with Mordeus gives tenderness, although this first volume is 17 chapters and we are just touching the surface.
The story from the beginning is complex for everything that happens, knowing the past of each character and it does feel different to be able to see all the images on pages and of great quality.
What I hope is that this gives the opportunity for more series to be known and that Suitor Armor reaches into other languages.
Thank you to NetGalley and Ten Speed Graphic for the opportunity to read this ARC.

Is it too soon to start “shipping” characters? Because I Love Lucia and Quinn (or the prospect of them at least).
This has beautiful artwork and sweet, love-able characters.
I’m looking forward to learning more about each person and the inner workings of the world and the war.

Review to come November 1st on my blog (and also on other places like Goodreads).
I received this book from Netgalley/the publisher in exchange of an honest review.
🥰 Lucia was such a sweet, wonderful, adorable, fun character. I loved reading how she came to live in the house and how she and the daughter of the man who saved her became such good friends. I did feel for her as she was an elf and had to hide her real self because humans weren't too happy with elves. I hope that in the next book she is able to come out more as her real self. I also loved how she treated Modus from the start, before he was called Modus. Everyone else just saw a suit of armor, and she treated him better.
🥰 I loved Modus, and I loved seeing him grown more and more alive with each bit of the story. I loved that he was falling for Lucia, see him protect her, that rose scene was just SQUEE, and all the other things. I am curious how much more he will come alive in the next volumes.
🥰 While I am still a bit on the fence about the courtmage, I mean, he is very punchable, he is also sexy, hot and I guess he doesn't all have bad intentions. I do love how he tries to help out Lucia with magic and such when he notices that she has an affinity for it. Plus, well, some things happen and this is a solution I guess.
🥰 Knave! The adorable kitty that wanders the castle and is super adorable and cute. Also, such a fitting name for a castle kitty.
🥰 Kirsi x the prince/king. OMG, the tension between these two. They are meant to be married, from kids it has been arranged, so I was a bit worried if they would even match/have chemistry, but OH BOY, they do. I love how they are both shy, but both want to be together. This is certainly going to be a great marriage.
🥰 I love how Lucia provides some winggirl action between these two. Telling Kirsi to talk to the king/prince and for the king/prince to talk to Kirsi. Setting them up so they cannot avoid each other. Teehee.
🥰 Baynard and Peres??? HELLO??? I ship those two so MUCH. They are so adorable, sweet, and I love that they found a way to make this all work.
🥰 On that point, thank you so much to the writer for the bonus chapter! EEEEEEEPPPPP!
🥰 Loved the Behind the Scenes bit, always love it when books (especially graphic novels/manga) do this. Give us a glimpse in the concepts of the characters, more illustrations.
🥰 The underlying issues that the characters have. Kirsi has a wine problem. Baynard has an issue with confidence and when things go dark he retreats/gets angry. Lucia is of course hiding the fact she is an elf/fairy.
🥰 The art was so pretty, so dynamic, so fun. I would love to see this one as an animation!
🤔 While I could understand some of her motives, I wasn't happy when Lucia put that pixie in a lamp. I get it girl, you want deets on elves, magic, and all the other things, but this is NOT the way.
All in all, I desperately need the second volume. This was one of my most anticipated reads of 2024 and BOY it delivered. This was sweet, romantic, magical, and more! Recommended!

In a world where fairies and humans are at war it’s important for Lucia to keep her secret hidden, rescued by the kind at an early age she spends her days being a lady in waiting for Lady Kirsi. While accompanying Lady Kirsi at a royal tournament she’s drawn to a magically animated suited armor knight. Soon the armored knight is ordered to watch over Lucia as her protection, what becomes of this companionship is something mesmerizing.
SCREAMING INTO TRAFFIC SKSKSKSKS
THIS WAS SO ENCHANTING!!!
I absolutely loved every second of this graphic novel, I found myself flying through this because I just needed more.
Lucia is absolutely adorable and she deserves the world, Modeus already has my heart and nothing better happen to him or I’m starting my own war.
This ended rather abruptly which is unfortunate but this is a WEBTOON comic so you bet your a** I’m running over there to continue reading this story!
Thank you NetGalley and Clarkson Potter/Ten Speed Press for giving me this arc in exchange for my honest review!

This was absolutely ADORABLE! The art style is enchanting and the characters’ individual personalities really stood out. We got a solid start to the story and I cannot wait to find out what happens next. Modeus is definitely my favorite!
The only “drawback” is that I felt that the end of the story for this volume was abrupt. It felt more like an end of a chapter than the end of a book.

The story leaves you wanting for more, and has tropes like found family, lgbt characters, enemies to lovers, etc. I adored purpah’s illustration, they are beautiful and absolutely magical! Lucia’s wings are gorgeous (as is she) and something about her and Modeus is giving if wall-e met iron giant. I’m so glad this is getting published, but I will definitely be continuing to read it on webtoon🤩

LOVED loved loved this one! I was familiar with the WebToon version of this comic and enjoyed it, so seeing it now has its own book/volume set is wonderful. Many people at the library talk about their favorite Webtoons (Lore Olympus, I'm looking at you) so it's great that I can recommend another to them. The animation is beautiful, and the story itself is lovely. I'm excited to read the next volume!

I’ve loved Suitor Armor since it came out on WEBTOON. I was so excited to see that it’s being published as a book. The art is extra beautiful in this format, and going back to the beginning of this lovely story was so much fun. I highly recommend this graphic novel, and can’t wait until the rest of the series is released like this!
Suitor Armor tells such a sweet but also difficult story. It’s full of characters you’ll love and some you’ll hate. I absolutely love this fantasy story.
*note: I’ll post reviews externally during release week, as requested by the publisher.*

I am in love with this book. I already love the connection between Lucia and Modeus and can’t wait to see what happens next. I am so interested in Lucia’s backstory and finding out more about how she ended up in the court.
The art is beautiful and the detail in the characters alone is amazing. I loved seeing the outfit and character design drafts at the end!

This was such a fun quick read!
I read a lot of dark fantasy/sci-fi books and that can take a toll, this was perfect for in between books. Plus it has it all, magic, friendship, danger and romance, also the most important thing for me is the queer representation in a fantasy book it is “Chefs kiss” ✨💕
5⭐️
Thank you to the Author and illustrator Purpah for sharing your incredible art with us.
Big thank you to Clarkson Potter/Ten Speed Press and NetGalley for my free copy of “Suitor Armor, Volume 1”
I received this advance review copy for free and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

There is so much happening here it's hard to sum up without spoilers. So.
Magic mysterious suit of armor. Female lead hiding her identity with a somewhat tragic past. Mysterious things are happening and I can smell the intrigue from here. Signs that yes this will be a romance but how? The question on all our minds.
And interesting medieval fantasy set up with magic and some mayhem already. This is a webtoon turned into a novel so this would go in GN. Fit for YA and adults.

I read Suitor Armor way back when it was first being published on WebToon. It's amazing to see that it's come so far it's getting print editions! The story is fantastic, whilst pulling from classical fairy tale story elements. The over-arching plot line of Lucia hiding her true identity, that she is a fairy, a people who are enemies of the kingdom, is so good. This first novel is evenly passed, but it is on the slower side. If I remember correctly, this volume only has episodes 1 to 17, which isn't even a 1/4 of the way into the entire story. They also ended the volume in a slightly awkward spot, it's not one of the natural cliffhangers, so it feels strangely abrupt. The art style I absolutely adore. It's what drew me to Suitor Armor when it was first being published online! After reading this volume, I'm totally going to reread the entire webcomic from the start to the most recent chapter!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for an advanced copy in exchange for my honest review!

Suitor Armor (Volume One) by Purpah
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This graphic novel follows Lady-in-waiting Lucia who live in a world where the kingdom she lives in is at war with fairies. And wouldn’t you know, she’s a fairy but has kept that a secret nearly her whole life. During a royal tournament the kingdoms mage introduces a suit of enchanted armor as the next challenger in the competition and right away Lucia becomes interested in the armor and so begins a bond between outcasts.
This graphic novel was very cute but way too short in my opinion (yes I know it is only volume one but it ended so abruptly…). I enjoyed the characters and the humor we get to see throughout the book. It definitely grabbed my attention and makes me want to know what happens next both in the budding romance that seems to be forming, as well as in the larger conflict between humans and fairies!
Thank you to the author, publisher and Netgalley for this arc in return for my honest review!
Check out Suitor Armor on November 12th!

This was a fantastic story. I love Lucia she is mysterious and strong willed but kind. I am already looking forward to volume 2. The storyline and art all top notch.

Love the LGBT REP and the relationship between Lucia and the suit of armor. I hope they end up together and are able to live freely in their truth.

I started reading this when it was just starting on WebToons and I am so happy that it is getting a bind up! Super cute and charming story and I can't wait for it to continue!
