Just Don’t Fall is the first book in the Sweater Weather romance series and the first book in the Appies series. When Logan Barnes is sent down to the AHL the last thing he expects is to have to film TikTok videos as part of his job. He also didn’t except his high school best friend’s little sister to be the social media manager. Parker has her work cut out with her when it comes to Logan, first, he isn’t ready to cooperate with the social media angle and, second, her childhood crush on him clearly hasn’t gone away. When Parker needs a date for her father’s birthday party, Logan is the first person she thinks of. Let the fake dating begin. Will this fake relationship end with heartbreak or turn into something more?
This book was just what I needed right now. I really enjoyed the characters together and the chemistry between the two. Parker and Logan are great together in my opinion and are a couple I couldn’t help but root for. There was just the right amount of comedy scattered throughout this book to help keep it lighthearted and fun. The burn in this book is super slow, but that was perfect for what I needed right now. If you are looking for a spicy hockey romance, this book is not for you, but if you want a sweet hockey romance this is a good one. I’m glad I read this book, it left me with a happy heart and a smile on my face.

3.5
Described as a sweet Hockey Romance and that is exactly what you get!
The narrators did a good job and fit the characters really well.
This was definitely a slow burn with it taking the characters a while to admit their feelings for each other and I did feel like we got to the end and it was a smidge rushed (kinda 0-100) but still cute
This book is perfect for you if you’re a fan of Rom Coms, are looking for a quick easy read/listen, or if you’re looking for a sports romance thats sweet and wholesome without the spice.
Liked the mix of personalities from the side characters on the team and they would be good characters for future books in the series

Thank you NetGalley for this audio copy of Just Don’t Fall.
Just Don’t Fall is about Parker, a social media genius, and Logan, a recovering NHL hockey player. Logan just also happens to be Parker’s brother’s ex-best friend. Mainly because he ghosted everyone when he made it to the NHL.
This is a cute story of reconnection that includes fake dating, brother’s best friend, and some miscommunication. I enjoyed listening to the story but it felt a little long for the plot. Hockey romances tend to be some of the spiciest books, so this series truly has a niche of being great hockey romances with no spice.
I’ve read one other Appie book (Appie’s are the fictional hockey team in this series) and enjoyed it. I absolutely love the setting in the North Carolina mountains and wish this team existed!

Another fantastic Appies story! I love this hockey team so much and wish they were real haha! This was my first book but this author and it definitely won’t be my last. I loved Parker and Logan’s story. There was a touch of fake dating and brothers best friend which I loved. The pacing and plot were well done and I loved that there was no third act break up! All the side characters are great and I already can’t wait to read another Appies story.
I didn’t love the narrators but thought they did a good job. I do appreciate the dual narrators for the dual POVs. I just felt like they were so slow. I had to speed it up to 2.5x which I never do and I feel like at that speed you lose some of the emotion and feelings. I’d still recommend this to any sports romance lovers!

Okay, I was hooked from page one...but chapter 4 and Parker's sneaky "little thief" hand
- (IYKYK) had me laughing and
swooning so much, that I knew I would be obsessed.
And I was right.
I am in love with these Appie Hockey players big time- and am just 2 books into the series.
Logan's hot and has an eight pack-so I don't think you need any other reason to read this one, but I'll give you a couple more anyway.
Logan and Parker have a history, not a romantic one, but their past makes them the cutest of friends and I'm here for it. So add fake dating into the mix of a childhood crush, and never been kissed, and I'm done for.
I love Emma St. Clair. She is humorous and romantic and can definitely write a scene with both things simultaneously. I definitely needed a reason to smile and this did the trick!

This audiobook was so much fun to listen to! Emily Ellet and Jay Myers did such a wonderful job bringing Parker and Logan's characters to life.
I read the book earlier this year and loved it so much, so I was very excited to see that an audiobook was available. This was my first ever audiobook, and I'm very happy to say that I enjoyed every second of it! The narrators made me fall in love with this book all over again. They were able to express the characters' personalities so well. I was 100% immersed because it was so easy to follow along.
I absolutely adored getting to know Parker and Logan again. This was the cutest hockey romance I have read to date. It has the perfect amount of tension that keeps you wanting to read more. This was a very addicting read! I can definitely see myself rereading this when I’m in the mood for a short and cute romance!

Cute, easy read rom-com that’s pretty squeaky clean. This would make a very chill beach read. The leads were likeable and the supporting characters were enjoyable and enhanced the story.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ALC Review
I really enjoyed this advanced listener copy of book one in the Appies series by @kikimojo and @jennyproctorbooks. Pictured is my signed copy of the book, I listen to the audiobook though. The series follows a team of hockey players and their romantic lives. This one is about Logan and Parker and I loved their characters so much! Logan was more grumpy and Parker the sunshine! Logan joins the hockey team that Parker works for and they were childhood friends. This was such a good slow burn, it had me on the edge of my seat the whole time and didn’t disappoint when that first kiss made its appearance!
The narrators Emily Ellet and Jay Myers were fantastic. They brought each main character to life and I enjoyed the dual narration. I love an audio book and this was fantastic! I highly recommend it. Here is what you can enjoy:
🧡 Grumpy/Sunshine
🏒 Brothers best friend
🧡 Closed door
🏒 Neighbors/Workplace
🧡 Fake dating
🏒 Hockey Romance
🧡 Never been kissed
Quote: "If you were my girlfriend," he says then, his voice gravely and low, “there would be a lot of physical contact.”
Thank you to the author Emma St. Clair and Net Galley for the advanced copy of the audio book!

3.5 rounded up!
This was a sweet closed door romance that had brother’s (ex) best friend, hockey, slow burn, and an innocent FMC.
I liked how Parker was confident in herself and owned that it was her choice that she hasn’t been kissed yet. Her second chance with Logan was very heart warming.
I also loved how she filled the shoes of “Boss” with the hockey players she managed 😂
Logan was incredibly sweet and how he made Parker’s comfort a priority was refreshing. He didn’t try to push her and make her choose anything in the moment.
I really enjoy this author’s closed door romances!

I love this book and the audio of this was just fantastic. Both narrators were great. Emma St Clair is an excellent writer and captivates you from the get-go. This audiobook was so much fun. I loved this reread through the audio.

What a great story!! Absolutely romantic!! I loved all the wooing that went on in this fake dating rom com. My heart is swollen from the Logan’s sweetness and thoughtfulness. Parker tried so hard to guard her heart and keep her guard up, but I’m pretty sure that was impossible. If you have to have a fake boyfriend, definitely get you one that treats you so special, respects your boundaries, and showers you with all of your favorite things. This book left me swooning! So, so good!
Update: I recently revisited this story via audiobook and was reminded of just how much I adore it! The narration brought Logan and Parker's romance to life again, and I loved how the narrators brought out their unique personalities. It was like experiencing the story for the first time all over again. I'm still swooning over their romance and can't recommend this book enough!

Oh wow where to begin? This was such a fun read I absolutely adored this one, ice hockey is one of my fave things to read about in books and when it’s executed this well oh my goodness! This book is no spice as well which is a bit different to what I’m used to but wow it wa so fun! I adored the audiobook and just truly really had such a fun time listening to this. The story ugh chefs kiss the romance was so beautiful, brothers we best friend but think forbidden, like really forbidden! Amazing! I would really encourage everyone to try this book out as it’s such a fun read! Cannot wait for more to come

This is maybe the meltiest audio narration I’ve heard in a while. Jay Meyers did an excellent job on the nuance of the fake dating, but he’s already fallen trope. Emily Ellet gave Parker’s take-no-prisoners voice a really vibrant tone and I can 100% relate. “Boss” indeed! I loved that she stood on her own in an all-male working environment. 10/10 recommend giving this a listen.
This book is she always had a crush on him, brother’s ex-best friend, second-chance, but now he’s falling first for real— even though they’re fake-dating. It’s got so many great little elements that add up to be a big win.

I’m a sucker for lovers to friends and brothers best friend and this book has both tropes. Such a sweet hockey romance that explores finding true friendship and true love. The banter was adorable and the characters were easy to get behind. I both listened and read this book. The audiobook narrators were delightful.

The narrators did such a wonderful job bringing Parker and Logan to life. They were the perfect match. It was easy to immerse yourself into the story and feel like you were right along with Parker and Logan. This is another A+ from Emma. This was the perfect start to this hilarious series. The dynamic between Logan and Parker was great. There was so many perfect moments between Parker and Logan. The Appies teammates were hilarious. I loved the protective brother vibes they had for Parker. I have more highlighted passages than not highlighted. The tik tok videos, the pink office chair, the whole fake relationship. Everything about this book is perfect. Thank you to the author for my review copy. These words are my own.

Parker has been in love with her big brother's best friend Logan since the first time she met him. But he left without a goodbye ten years ago. Now he is back in town to play with Appies, a downplay move from the NHL. He wants out of.the teamand his hometown as soon as possible. But Parker and his teammates will help him realise what is he been missing and that love is all you need. The audiobook with Emily Ellet and Jay Myers brings to life all the characters and their emotions.

Whenever I need a dose of Small Town with its own identity, I know I just have to look for a book by Emma St. Clair.
.
Her characters are made in the most adorable and sweet way you can imagine, even more so the grumpy muscular hockey players. With this book you can fall in love in the most tender and fun way because the banter between the characters is as fun to read as it is to listen to like in this case.
.
Parker is the social media marketing manager for the Appies, the local Harvest Hollow hockey team, and as part of her job she must welcome the new player and convince him to participate in trending tiktoks.
.
But the task can be even more difficult when the man she has to convince is none other than her brother's former best friend, who disappeared from their lives, ghosting them without any explanation. And it's also her first crush
.
For Logan, his time in Harvest Hollow is numbered and he only thinks about when he can return to the league. Until he meets Parker again and begins to see everything with different eyes
.
I loved coming back to Harvest Hollow and the narrations of Emily Ellet & Jay Myers, made the experience perfect
.
Thanks to Emma St. Clair and her team for give me a copy of this beautiful book in exchange for my honest and voluntary opinion.

I read this story last fall and fell in love with Parker and Logan. Listening to the story this time around was just as good as when I read it the first time! The narrators did a great job of bringing the characters to life! I loved every minute of listening to this story!

Just Don't Fall is a part of the Appies Hockey books. This installment focuses on Parker and Logan. Parker is the social media manager of the Appies hockey team (a minor league team). Logan is sent back down to the minors from the NHL. Logan and Parker have a past. He was her crush and he was her brother's best friend. Both of their families are complicated. Inadvertently, Parker wrangles Logan into attending a family event as her "fake" boyfriend. Both want more, but miscommunication ensues which leads to both guess about how the other feels.
Just Don't Fall is a great intro to the Appies world. The read is able to met other players from the Appies team that receive their own individual books.

Super cute hockey rom-com in the most adorable town of Harvest Hollow during the fall.
This book is part of a series with several other authors.
Logan is the grumpy hockey player, demoted to the minors where he is recovering from an injury.
Parker is the hockey team's social media manager,. the team is know for its fun tik tok videos like the Savannah Bananas but in hockey. Logan is not a fan of the antics so its Parker's job to get him on board. Side note, Logan was also Parker's older brother's best friend before he made it to the big league. Parker had a huge crush on Logan back then and it never really stopped. Lost of fun characters.
