I am such a fan of this series. Every book is great and I know when I pick up the next one it is not going to let me down.
This one is personal for Nikki and seems to relate to a killer that pursued her and let her go while she was pregnant with her daughter. Fast forward to today when there are ties to him at a current murder. Did he survive all those years ago and is he back and hunting her?
Before I sing its praises, I should mention there are some sensitive issues at the heart of this one. It deals with motherhood, abuse against women and miscarriages. Not all easy topics, but handled with sensitivity.
The connection the case has with Nikki really ups the ante and makes me that much more invested in the case, The author does such a good job of making me feel that connection and care all the more. Especially when it eventually involves more than just her.
There was growth with Nikki and her boss. I didn't really like him at first but their relationship is growing on me.
Seriously if you are a crime lover and haven't read this series, you need to pick it up. The series is quite character driven so while it can be read on its own, I recommend reading it in order to get the backstory of Nikki and the bunch.
Special Agent Nikki Hunt is an expert at solving murders for the FBI. One case stands out in her memory as a killer that got away. While pregnant with her daughter, she came face to face with a serial killer who let her go because she was an expectant mother but said he would be back for her. Years later, the discovery of a woman's body with all the markers of that cold case tells Nikki that the killer has found her. He preys on postpartum women by kidnapping and torturing them. The chase is on to find the perpetrator. Nikki knows they will face off again.
It was great to revisit familiar characters in Special Agent Nikki Hunt & her team in this suspense thriller. Stacy Green, again, has written an unputdownable twisted thriller that’ll have your heart racing!
Thank you, Stacy Green, bookouture & netgalley for my early copy! All opinions are my own.
Each book in this series holds you your breath and your heart. This one is about mothers. Mothers with newborn babies.
A deranged serial killer is taking these mothers and doing the most heinous things to them before breaking their necks.
Back in 2014 Nikki Hunt was looking for a young mother who had gone missing. The police would not take is very series because this woman was a prostitute. But her mother knew she would not have just left. She would not have left her baby. Nikki wanted to find her. Bring her home to her mother and baby. But when Nikki got to the cabin she found a gruesome murder. Also another dead man.
When Nikki comes face to face with this killer she is desperate. She's pregnant and wants to keep her baby safe. Fortunately this killer does not like pregnant women he says and he lets her live. The only problem I found with this book was them saying that Nikki "let him go." She actually was spared by him. He had complete control at that time. But he did promise to come for her later.
In 2024 a serial killer is on the loose again. He's taking women who are new mothers. He is doing horrible things again. Putting them through so much pain before finally killing them. Could it be the same man? That man was suppose of have been found dead back in 2014. But was it really him. Or was he back...
This book takes you to a dark place. A place where women are treated so badly. Put through so much pain. Kept alive for weeks only to be murdered and left in places where they can be found. Left so there is no way Nikki Hunt will miss them. It's a calling card of sorts. His signature has not changed at all. If anything he has gotten even more cruel.
Thank you #NetGalley, #StacyGreen, #bookouture, for this ARC. This is my own true thoughts about this book.
Five big stars.
Another slam dunk by Stacy Green! I absolutely love the Nikki Hunt series. If you haven't read it, you are sorely missing out.
Thank you #netgalley and #bookouture for the eARC.
Special Agent Nikki is on the run in this latest book in a stellar series. Nikki is desperate to learn who took the life of a young mother. When Nikki arrives on the scene, she sees the killer’s signature and this brings her back to a case from nearly a decade ago.
Considering that both the current and old case involve young mothers, Nikki feels the loss of the victims deeply. In fact, if indeed the killer is back, then Nikki finds herself in a race against time. However, as if that were not enough intrigue, Nikki’s own pregnancy years before is fresh in her mind. She was so close to catching the killer before, but he eluded capture. In fact, what he said to Nikki haunts her to this very day.
Personally, FBI stories (whether in book form or on television) really appeal to me, so I love that this series has Nikki as an FBI agent. The fact that profiling is part of her job only makes her involvement in her cases more compelling. Nikki’s personal stake when it comes to her cases is what keeps me coming back each and every time. A peek into Nikki’s earlier life and emotional pain lends so much to this story. This is a series best read in order, especially when it comes to the personal and professional relationships between the characters.
Stolen Mothers is a hard-hitting book, touching on some sensitive issues, all while delivering an excellent story. If you are not a fan of Stacy Green and the Nikki Hunt series, I highly encourage you to consider adding these books to your repertoire. You won’t be disappointed.
Many thanks to Bookouture and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.
Special Agent Nikki Hunt is back again for book nine in this gripping series and this time it's personal.
14 years ago Nikki's life was spared after she came face to face with a serial killer, fast forward to the present day which sees Nicki called to the brutal death of a postpatrum mother with a personal message left just for her, led to believe the event which transpired 14 years ago resulted in the death of the perpetrator Nikki is determined that this time justice will be serve.
This one is all about the signature and the flashbacks, an intense engaging read.
Nikki Hunt is back for book nine and what a book it was!
It is Halloween and Nikki and Liam are called to a crime scene, a woman is dead in a neighbour's Halloween display. On closer inspection they spot a rare flower in the victim’s hand, Nikki recognises it and it sends chills down her spine. This flower was used as a calling card from a serial killer a long time ago, one that was thought to have been captured. Nikki and her team need to find out whether it is a copycat or the serial killer is still at large.
This book is the best yet, I liked that we got flashbacks the Nikki’s past, when she was pregnant with her daughter but also figuring out why the killer only seemed to go for new mothers.
This was a fast-paced book and was written superbly. I felt like I was living in Nikki Hunt's world.
I was captured from the very first page until the very end.
Stacy Green is a fantastic author and I cannot wait for the next book in the series.
Stolen Mothers is another fast-paced thriller from Stacy Green, throwing you once again into the daily life of FBI Agent Nikki Hunt. This time she needs to find the serial killer who is responsible for killing all these women, but there is a harrowing personal story behind it all too. Did what happened nine years ago to Nikki influence what the killer did next?
I sped through the book as quickly as other things allowed me to, and it was a welcome break from the fantasy worlds I am used to.
Parts of Stolen Mothers are fairly graphic, but if you’re a thriller reader anyway, I’m sure you’ll have no problem devouring this in one sitting.
The book is the ninth in the Nikki Hunt series, but only the second one I have read. You definitely won’t lose anything if you read it as a standalone, as Stacy explains previous incidents, characters and everything else as she goes along.
Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for the opportunity to read and review Stolen Mothers by Stacy Green.
This is the ninth book in the fantastic Nikki Hunt series. In this edition, a serial killer from her past is back. There’s non-stop drama and suspense that kept me on the edge of my seat! It’s a thrilling mystery/suspense. A must read.
This was a creepy one from the beginning pages. When Nikki Hunt arrives at a gruesome scene that is eerily familiar to a case from her past. Once again it is the body of a new mother. Nikki came face to face with this vicious killer in her past, and he promised they would meet again. When another new mother disappears, they realize that the clock is ticking. It seems new mothers are not safe in this town.
I can always count on a Nikki Hunt book grabbing me by the throat, and this one did not disappoint. I love the character of Nikki Hunt. She is tenacious, brilliant and fearless. She is also like a dog with a bone when she works a case, but then after all the work is done, she is a great mother and fine human being with true empathy for the victims and their families.
This is another great one for Nikki Hunt. Prepare for a fantastic ride of epic proportions that keeps a fast pace right up until the final pages.
Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Gripping from the beginning and it never lets up. I enjoy this series so much and have become invested in the characters. This case is full of twists and I often felt like I was right beside Nikki unraveling the clues. Great suspense and perfect timing. I'm never disappointed by this author.
Another heart racing, suspenseful crime thriller from author Stacy Green.
Nikki Hunt is on the hunt for a serial killer she thinks is targeting postpartum mothers. As she races against time to figure out what is going on, Nikki finds out something that makes her very scared and worried.
Could there have been a mistake made years ago?
Was this mistake going to come back and haunt her?
What is the connection to her past?
Be ready for a gruesome, shocking and intense read!
Though you could read this as a standalone, I highly recommend reading the series in order. There is much back story to Nikki, her family as well as her work team.
Highly recommended series for those that are a fan of thriller/suspense/mystery.
Many thanks to NetGalley, Bookouture and the author for the opportunity to read this book for my honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.
Who is stealing new mothers and then heinously killing them?
Readers will gain insight on flashbacks in Nikki’s past that harbors clues to this killer she thought was long dead.
The path is literally littered with flowers as Hunt desperately tries to track down the culprit.
I enjoy this series immensely and each book and case keeps getting more intricate and enticing!
The pieces and clues came together very well and I was riveted to my seat as I furiously read to the end.
Absolutely breathtaking! I truly loved this book so much that whatever I am trying to write will not be good enough for a review. This is probably my favourite book in this tremendously good series.
It could not get more personal than this. Nikki nearly lost her life years ago, but the man did not want to kill a pregnant woman. The man has however not forgotten Nikki. He is sending her messages through dead women, but Nikki is not safe herself.
My body has problem handling this book because it was nail-bitingly good, my heart was raising insanely, and the book nearly took my breath away. Loved it!
What A Thrill Ride!
This book is a gripping and intense addition to the Nikki Hunt series. With its dark, twisty narrative and well-crafted, nail-biting moments, it had me flipping pages at breakneck speed. Special Agent Nikki Hunt's encounter with a familiar serial killer in the quiet town of Mulberry Creek is both chilling and compelling. The plot masterfully intertwines past and present, keeping readers on the edge of their seats. Highly recommended for fans of suspenseful thrillers.
Number 9 in the series and another great read.
This time we discover more about Nikki’s past and how it links to her newest case so there is an element of back and forth between timelines.
Brilliantly executed, this is very main plot focused and while all the characters are there, the emphasis is on the cruel and unusual crime that's being perpetrated against postpartum mothers.
would like to thank netgalley and the publisher for letting me read this gob smacking book
nikki hunt was on the job.... checking out a place.... what she stumbled on was so much more and one that would haunt her for years to come.... she ended up chasing after a suspect up a mountain, she lost her footing and stumbled down.... the perp followed her with a knife in his hands.... the only thing that saved her was the fact that she was pregnant.... he left her stranded and broken but knowing they had unfinished business between them....
its halloween and nikki is called out to help with a murder.... what horrifies nikkie is the flowers not rural to the area found in the victims hands...its a serial killers calling card and its a message for nikki that hes back....
can nikki and her team find him before another body turns up....only time will tell
oh my goodness me this book was horrifying and unputdownable at times....but written oh so good that you were drawn to each page reading in disbelief at what this serial killer was doing....
cant wait to read what comes next for nikkie and her team....
Stolen Mothers, Nikki Hunt book 9, by Stacy Green.
Nikki's past has come back to haunt her. When Nikki was pregnant with her daughter, Lacey, she let a serial killer walk in exchange for her daughter's safety. He vowed to come back for her at the time only to turn up dead shortly after. Or did he? Did other agents botch the case while Nikki was focusing on having a baby. Is she a target or egocentric? Another fast paced Nikki Hunt novel. Loved it.

Another thrill ride start to finish. Nikki is back on the trail of a serial killer she thinks is back from her past. Which brings up old memories. You’ll be on the edge of your seat as she races to hopefully save his latest victim. One of my favorite series. Stacy Green does not disappoint!
