Evie Jones basically dedicates her life to Southern Service Paws, the service dog company that matched her with her own dog, Charlie, to assist with her epilepsy, as she is now preparing to take over the business from her mentor. At a consultation, Evie meets Jake Broaden and his ten-year-old daughter Sam, who secretly set up the meeting since she recently was diagnosed with epilepsy and wants a service animal.
In usual Sarah Adams fashion, I found this book to be such a perfect mixture of everything you'd expect from a romcom. Every time I pick one of her books up, I feel like I'm watching a movie. There simply is something so comforting in her work, truly a perfect read for when you need something to turn your mind off for a while.
I absolutely loved Evie, she is such a bubbly, fierce, strong character and, as someone who has struggled with epilepsy, she truly resonated with me. I connected with her on so many different levels, and I really cared and rooted for her throughout the entirety of this story. She was so much fun to follow, and I also really liked the way her and Sam connected, it was so sweet to see their bond grow.
While I'm not usually big on instalove-y books, I can appreciate them every once in a while when they hit as good as this one did. I really liked the way Evie and Jake connected, and they had great moments I truly adored. The conflict did annoy me a little and it felt kind of rushed towards the end, but I still really enjoyed it.
It was my first time picking up this book, so I have no idea how different it is from the original, but I sure did enjoy this version a lot! I listened to the audiobook for this one, and I really liked both narrators!
Many thanks to Dreamscape Media & NetGalley for the ALC. All opinions are my own.

I really enjoyed this one. Both narrators did a fantastic job and the story was really cute. I love when a book showcases disability rep, and the service dogs were such a good touch. I will say, towards the end, the family drama and miscommunication really took me out of the story. I kinda just got annoyed with both MCs and wasn't impressed.
Thank you to Netgalley for the ALC in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to Netgalley, Dreamscape Media, and Sarah Adams for the chance to listen to this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
Please note: I had not yet read the original publication of this story so this republication with expanded content was brand new to me in every way!
Single Dad! Independent & Strong Women! Disability Rep (epilepsy)! Service Dogs! Obnoxious Elitist Parents! Found Family!
As we have all come to expect from Sarah Adams with her When in Rome series and more- this is a sweet, low stakes, and low stress romance. The disability rep is done very well. The chemistry and tension are built exceptionally well without spice.
I completely recommend you read Jake & Evie's love story. I'm now looking forward, even more, for the chance to read the re-release of book two in It Happened in Charleston duology: The Enemy.

The Match by Sarah Adams is charming and sweet fun!
Sarah Adams' writing is magical, whimsical and full of charm. The Match is an absolute favorite book of hers and I cannot recommend it enough. Listening to it on audiobook was a treat. The narrators brought a new life to the story that added wit, charm and swoon. The narrators embodied the characters of Evie and Jack and Sam. The story moved at a quick paced that will have listeners smiling, laughing and grinning while listening. The story is uplifting and in true Sarah Adams style will always leave you feeling warm and cozy after listening. I needed a cute feel good book to just sit down and read in one day and this definitely was the right choice. Evie works in for a foundation that finds the perfect service dog for people with disabilities, herself being epileptic she is very passionate about what she does. That is when she gets an email and meets Jacob and Sam, a single parent and his 10 year old daughter which just so happens also deals with epilepsy. They get off on the wrong foot at first but Evie starts to become a daily figure in both their lives and fills the spaces for them, becoming a cute family. It’s super sweet and just makes you smile reading it.

Swoon. Love. This book is so good. The perfect amount of love, miscommunication, tension, and disability rep. Thanks for the chance to listen early.

Another great Sarah Adams book. The characters are relatable. I also love that the book revolves around dealing with epilepsy and service animals. The romantic connection made my heart go pitter patter, but was not spicy. I’m looking forward to book two in the series.

5 stars
I love Sarah Adams, she writes the sweetest romances and her men are all PEAK book boyfriends. I am so glad she has the opportunity to rerelease her back issues. This book was a great look into the lives of those with epilepsy and the use of service dogs. I also love a single dad romance that isn't the typical nanny love interest, it was a nice change of pace. Love both MCs a ton as well as Sam and Jo.
Regarding the audio specifically, I like both narrators a lot. I couldn't tell if they weren't doing a southern accent at all for certain dialogue or if I am too used to a subtle southern accent being from the south, but that was my only issue.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this ALC!

This was a sweet story that I enjoyed. I loved that the story is about a young woman with epilepsy, many will relate. This was a 3.5 star for me.

Super cute, single dad disability romance. Evie has epilepsy with Charlie, her service dog she meets Jake a single dad with a daughter who also has been diagnosed with epilepsy. The opening of the book is very funny, with Sam, the daughter, personating her dad to meet with Evie for a potential service dog to help her with her episodes. And obviously Jake and Evie do not get on the right foot, eventually Jake comes around for a service dog for Adam and catches feelings for Evie. It had the Sarah Adams humor with a southern charm, and a flirty personality.

one of my favorite things about sarah adams books is that they’re like one big warm hug you’ve been needing. the match was no different, jake and evie were everything and more 😭
this has been on my tbr for quite some time now and it did not disappoint whatsoever!! there is nothing i love more than the single dad trope and evie was absolutely made for jake and sam. i thought the way they ended up meeting was super unique and i loved seeing the epilepsy representation!!
the drama toward the end wasnt my favorite thing which is why i brought it down to 4 stars, it made me feel awful for both jake and evie having to go through that but i do understand that it was necessary to wrap up those plot points!!

Thank you to NetGalley for the audio ARC! This is such a cute romance book! I really enjoyed the characters - especially the dogs. The narrator was great. Perfect book to listen to while cleaning or working in the yard!

4 Stars The Match by Sarah Adams is a charming romcom about how love can find you when you least expect it.
Since getting out from under her wealthy parents' thumb a few years ago, Evie Jones has dedicated everything to Southern Service Paws, the service dog company that matched her with her own dog, Charlie, to assist with her epilepsy. Now Evie matches service dogs with clients, is preparing to take over the business from her mentor, and is arranging a fundraiser to help the struggling business. Then Evie meets Jake Broaden at a consultation and sparks fly instantly, but not in a good way. Jake's ten-year-old daughter, Sam, secretly set up the meeting since she recently was diagnosed with epilepsy and wants a service animal. Despite his initial hesitation, Jake gives in and the three of them begin spending more time together as they match Sam with a dog and train her. Having been hurt in the past, Jake is wary of starting something with Evie, but he can't help but feel like Evie is the missing piece of their family.
This was such a sweet insta-love rom com. While I adore Evie and Jake as a couple, I absolutely loved reading the scenes of Jake being a great father to Sam or the three of them as a family. Evie found the family that she deserved since her own parents didn't treat her like they should have. The narrators did a wonderful job with this dual narration. A sweet read!
Thank you Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for the ALC!

Sarah Adams is now an auto buy author for me! Her books are the perfect complement to the classic romcom films that I always gravitate to after a trying day. I loved the representation in The Match and the romance was on point. Evie and Jake had undeniable chemistry and Sam was the cherry on top. The way that the development of the characters unfolded gave me the feels and made my heart stutter in my chest. The only reason that this was not a higher rating for me was because I felt that the crescendo of the central conflict was a bit lackluster. I expected more of a blow out with Evies parents and Tyler. I really wish that Jakes feelings following the fight had been explored. I also felt like Natalie busted up his revelation and I really wanted a bit more from his makeup with Evie. All in all, the ending felt a bit rushed, but I was satisfied with the idea of the conclusion.

If Sarah writes it I'm reading it. The Match was a really enjoyable story. Amusing in places, sweet without being too sickly sweet and had some serious notes in it too. I really liked Evie and Jacob. Evie was so down to earth considering her background, I loved her compassion and her spunk. Jacob was just the sweetest single dad wanting to do what's best for his little girl. The narrators for this one did a wonderful job. Both were new to me narrators and captured their characters perfectly. I would definitely listen to other books narrated by them.

This story was sweet as pie! Evie trains service dogs and Jake is the single father of an adorable young girl who is being matched with a service dog of her own. The meet cute is adorable and funny, and the tie between Evie and the young girl, Sam, both living with epilepsy was beautiful. This was a feel good, sweet, clean read.

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this story read by Rusty Mewha and Leanne Woodward. A large majority of the book was read by Rusty and he was a perfect casting for Jake!

Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the ALC of The Match!
I have been really wanting to read a Sarah Adams novel so I was STOKED to have been approved for this one!
Evie Jones has eschewed her Charleston royalty parents' dreams for her to live a Stepford wife existence and is working for Southern Service Paws, the company that matched her with the love of her Charlie, a service-dog trained to assist with her epilepsy. Then Evie meets Jacob Broaden and there are instant sparks—but not the good kind. Although his ten-year-old daughter, Sam, was recently diagnosed with epilepsy, the newly single dad had no idea she set him up for an initial client meeting with Evie. It doesn’t take long for Jacob to be convinced that Evie, and her magical, woodland-green eyes, might just be the best thing for him and his daughter. As Evie spends more time with Jacob and helps Sam find her perfect match with a lovable golden retriever named Daisy, she starts longing for something she’s never had before—a loving family. For Jacob, falling in love with Evie is the last thing he should be doing, but love has a way of finding those who need it most.
If you think that dogs are God's greatest gift to mankind (which they totally are), this book is for you. While I don't normally go for insta-love, this one felt different. It definitely felt more like Jake, Evie, and Sam becoming a family and after all of them being hurt by family in different ways before, it felt natural for them to bond quickly once they realized they were trustworthy. Plus, Evie and Jake had plenty of internal "Are we moving too fast?" that it seemed like the book was trying to put the brakes on the insta-love.
I did feel that Evie's parents and ex were almost too one-dimensionally evil and they definitely did not deserve a redemption arc.
The biggest takeaway is that the dogs are amazing and they deserve infinite stars.
The dual narration was awesome and made the book infinitely better. Those accents!!!

Sarah Adams is one of my favorite authors of all time.
Synopsis
Evie has epilepsy and has found a perfect occupation, helping to pair people with disabilities up with their service dogs. One day when she meets Jake, he is less than excited to be matching his daughter with a service dog. Too bad Jake's bad attitude is paired with his stunningly good looks. While Evie continues to work with Jake's daughter Sam, Evie Jake starts to develop a friendship.
Of course life isn't that easy and with Jake's baggage and Evie's annoying and meddling parents, it will be hard for this to become anything more than a friendship.
This book was fun and had a unique plot. I'm always for the single dad trope. There is a small part about this book that I didn't love at the end but I still love this book.
Rusty Mewha and Leanne Woodward do a great job with the narration of this audio book. I'm so excited that more Sarah Adams books are being picked up for audio! Thank you dreamscape media for sharing this audiobook with me.

This was so cute, adorable and fast paced plotline. I love the opportunity the author took to pen down the disability rep in FMC and the MMC is well aware of it as his daughter is having the same issue.
The positivity towards the issue and life with it stole away my heart. This is my first read from the author's work and now I am excited to read her other works too.

This was an absolutely charming and sweet novel that is a Hallmark Movie in book form. The writing is solid and the pacing is quick. The narrators were wonderful! The representation of epilepsy and service dogs was done really well and a really enjoyed the glimpse into that world. The chemistry between the main characters was great even though it’s a “closed door” romance. A great addition for any public library!
Thanks to Sarah Adams, NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for an advanced audio copy for review!

This was my first book by Sarah Adams and it didn’t disappoint! This was such a cute romance. I really enjoyed the dual POV, the relationship between Evie and Jake, and the disability rep in this book. I actually learnt a lot about service animals and epilepsy. I did like the narrators, but I will mention that some of the characters are described as having thick southern accents, and I would’ve loved to have heard this more in the audiobook. Overall, this is a sweet and light-hearted rom-com, and I’m excited to read more by Sarah Adams!
