My rating:

This one was super cute! I really enjoyed the narrators and the overall story.
I love Sarah Adams and her writing style. Her books never disappoint! She is an auto buy author for me.

I really enjoyed the family values in this story, as well as epilepsy awareness and how service animals can save lives.

I adored this book! Sarah Adams is an auto-buy author for me and she did not disappoint. This was cheesy in the cutest way & Sarah does such a good job of hooking readers from the start. I loved both of the main characters for so many reasons. This book was just so well done.

I loved it. I. Loved. It.

I'm new to Sarah Adams books so I'll BRB as I binge ALLLLLLLL of her others...

This is the first book in the It Happened in Charleston book series, and I love the disability representation, I love the sweet story and their not so meet cute. I loved their banter and the slow build to their undeniable attraction, and I love Sam, Jacobs daughter that set the meeting up between him and Evie.

What a great story that I will be thinking about for a long time!

Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the ALC of this wonderful story!

Romance is a wide genre with numerous tropes and yet I find myself enjoying a broad spectrum of it all. The Match was no different as the writing draws readers into the quirks of each.

I really enjoyed this one! Another cute Sarah Adams book. She just gets what I need to read and I love her for it.

Evie is such a sassy, but fun character. I loved her tenacity and how she doesn't let her epilepsy hold her back from living life and pursuing her passions. It was genuinely wonderful to see this representation in lit and while I can't say whether it was well-done, I really hope the epileptic community resonates with her character.

In addition to the representation of epilepsy, we also see a healthy relationship between our main characters and how important it is for our main man's daughter to have a step-mom like Evie in her life. I really enjoyed the development of this little family. It filled my heart and joy cup.

If you're looking for a quick, little bit spicy, romance book with a super sweet hea ending, look no further.

Sarah Adams never disappoints me! She sucks me in with her sweet, endearing characters, great writing and heartwarming moments. I love her characters so much! They just melt your heart and this one is no exception!

We have Jake, single dad to Sam, who was recently diagnosed with epilepsy. We also have Evie, who was diagnosed with epilepsy as a teenager and now helps manage a service dog business that trains and matches dogs with humans. Jake and Evie meet when Sam sets up the meeting because she really wants a service dog.

I love the story that Jake brings being a single dad who hasn’t put himself back out in the dating scene since his divorce. He is trying to be the best dad he can be, which is admirable. Especially with his daughter now given an extra obstacle in life, which adds to the layers of a girl who is growing up.

Evie is a sweet, strong willed young lady who is determined not to live off her parent’s dime and name in life. She loves what she does, even when it doesn’t pay much. She also has a big heart and it shows in her care of Sam and her dedication to the service dogs.

I can’t wait to read the next interconnected book in this series!

Rusty Mewha and Leanne Woodward were great in their narration of Jake and Evie. Leanne’s voice is so light and sweet; it portrays Evie’s character so well. Rusty’s depiction of Jake brings to life his stand up character as a father and man. They both made the story sweet and entertaining!

Thank you NetGalley for my copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

I am one of few romance readers who hadn't yet read anything by Sarah Adams so I was going into this one pretty blind, but it sounded like a lovely read.

And I wasn't disappointed! The characters in this story are great, and there is some great representation, with multiple characters having disabilities (there are 2 epileptic characters). This book really highlighted the realities of living with a condition like epilepsy and showed it in a raw, honest way that I really enjoyed, as someone who doesn't have any experience with the condition. I loved hearing about the service dogs and how important they can be in ensuring that people with conditions like epilepsy can still live a full, 'normal' life.

I really enjoyed hearing about single dad Jake, and his family too are really great and supportive. The romance is lovely but I enjoy how much of a strong one Evie is, and how she stood up for herself initially when Jake was less than respectful to her! The miscommunication cropped up a few times in this book, which usually grates on me, but I didn't mind it in this one - it worked to move the plot forwards.

This book is charming, heart-warming and surprisingly enlightening - I'd recommend it to anyone who loves a good closed door romance.

Thank you to NetGalley, Sarah Adams & Dreamscape Media for an audio ARC in exchange for an honest review. This review is wholly my own & may not be reproduced.

Everything Sarah Adams writes is gold. She is one of my favorite Rom-Com authors and she hit the mark again with The Match.

I really loved all of the characters in this one. I especially loved that Evie suffers from a disability (epilepsy) & that she works to match up others with epilepsy with a service dog. Her tenacity was amazing. I loved how she put Jacob in his place after he scoffed at the importance of a service dog after his daughter (who has epilepsy) set up a meeting under false pretenses – because she wants a normal life & a service dog can give that to her.

I loved that Evie was able to change Jacob’s mind by showing him what a service dog could do for his daughter Sam. The romance is a give with a Sarah Adams book, but for me, the star of the show was Sam & Evie’s relationship & how Evie was able to help her.

The Match by Sarah Adams is just about the cutest book I have ever read! Adams's description - "This book is sweet. It’s funny. It’s tender. It’s sunshiney." - sums up this romance so perfectly!

Chock-full and brimming over with a strong female lead, an every day good-guy single dad, epilepsy representation from two characters, service dogs, a supportive found family and all the cute humour, wit and charm one could ask for, this rom-com is just the sweetest thing!

Being a dual perspective romance means two audiobook narrators and Leanne Woodward and Rusty Mewha were perfect choices for Evie and Jacob! Their voices were as cheerful as this yellow cover, painting this story’s world in the most vivid of colours!

I loved the full story Evie had, allowing proof that those with epilepsy can truly have their own happily ever after!

Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the complimentary audio copy to read and review.

Sarah Adams has proven to be one of my favorite romance authors of the last year. She really came onto my radar and surprised me. After reading The Rule Book earlier this year and having it instantly become one of my favorites by her, I was thrilled to find out that her publisher was going to be re-publishing Sarah's indie backlist.

The Match is a very charming, close-door romance. It is the pinnacle of what I have come to expect from Sarah, except I fear that it was lacking her typical charm. After reading The Match, you can tell how far Sarah has come with her writing and character development. I don't think The Match was bad by any means, it just felt like it was missing something the entire time I was reading it.

Service dogs? A single dad? A spunky FMC? Yes, yes, and yes! This book has it all! Evie was so real and not overly dramatized. I loved the relationship between Jacob and his daughter Sam, but of course, Charlie and Daisy stole the show! I need to read more books with service animals!

I love single dad MCs. I don't think they get enough rep.

Evie trains dogs! She does it for the love not money. She trains dogs to become service dogs. Her own dog helps her and when a young girl who also suffers from epilepsy, contacts her pretending to be her dad in hopes of convincing him that a service dog will make things better for her, Evie can't help feeling a connection to the young girl even when her dad, Jacob, is having none of it.

After a rough start they work together to find the perfect fit for Sam, they start to feel things for each other and Evie teachs him that hovering over Sam isn't thr right way for her to learn to live with her diagnosis.

I loved this book with all of my heart. It was so heartfelt and gave me the honeyglows. I can see why Jacob was having a tough time at first. It must be so hard taking care of a little girl with extraordinary needs especially asfter the mother abandoned them both. Evie on the other hand, comes from money but she gave it all up to do what she believes in. I was blown away by the depth of this book.

It was super cute romance with so much more to it. The narration was on point and I am so glad I spent the day listening to it.

5 stars. BRILLIANT!! Cannot recommend this book more.

This was a cute read! It’s closed-door, and very sweet. There were some funny moments too. I loved the blended family element, and the epilepsy rep. This one felt like a Netflix rom-com, and I don’t mean that in a negative way. It was an easy story to get lost in.

This was a fun book examining life with medical accommodation, what it means to have found family, some age difference romance. How to deal with past family trauma and horrible family expectations. It had all the personality of Sarah Adams books, with MCs with great senses of humor and some good quality give and take.

Thoroughly enjoyable and a fun read.

Story: 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Overall: 🌟🌟🌟🌟

The Match is a sweet romance about Evie Jones, who trains service dogs. When she meets Jacob Broaden at a client consultation meeting, there are instant sparks—but not the good kind, because Jacob’s daughter set up the meeting without his knowledge. Sam has been recently diagnosed with epilepsy and has wanted a service animal ever since. Jacob reluctantly agrees, but soon realizes the animal and Evie might just be the best thing for him and his daughter.

Such a cute and quick audiobook. I loved Evie and Jacob and rooted for them. Any romcom with dogs is a good romcom.

This was an easy listen. I really thought the book being centered around service animals was a nice change and wonderful for an author to help showcase. Who doesn’t enjoy a sexy single dad who works so hard to help their daughters needs be met. I adored the Gilmore Girls references. Love Sarah’s work!

This was just a precious book! I have read several books by Sarah Adams, and I was so excited to get the chance to listen to this rerelease of The Match. I thought it was such a cute and heart warming romance. I loved all the characters so much. Evie was a great female main character, learning to live through a diagnosis of chronic illness like epilepsy with her service dog Charlie. I thought Jake was the perfect grumpy sunshine with not *too* much grumpiness. He was certainly a fanastic single dad. I enjoyed that the characters weren't in their early 20s trying to get together for the rest of their lives- that they both had their baggage that they brought to their relationship and that they learned how to work through it. I don't love a miscommunication plot, but I thought that this one was resolved quickly so I'll let it slide. Overall, it was a cute fast romance book that left me smiling. Perfect beach day read or listen.

Thanks to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for an advanced audiobook copy of this book. All opinions within this review are my own.

So so so cute. I've been on a bit of a Sarah Adams kick lately-- I read her When In Rome series last month and adored it, so I jumped at the chance to request this audiobook as well. She's the sweetest human, and it really shines through in her romance books.

I loved that this book centered around a guide dog user/trainer. That's not a perspective I've seen often in books, so it was cool to see how Charlie changed Evie's life.

Sam was such a fun side character--I always love a precocious child in books.

I'm thrilled to see that Book 2 is already on Hoopla, so I'm going to go listen to it now.

Add dogs to a book, and I’m there!

⭐️⭐️⭐️.5/5 stars (rounded up)

Synopsis:
Having worked for Southern Service Paws for a few years now, I like to think I’m prepared for just about any client meeting under the sun. I am dead wrong. The day I meet with single dad, Jacob Broaden, about potentially matching his daughter with one of our service dogs, I learn a few valuable lessons.
1) Always set my alarm clock.
2) Single dads are way hotter than I previously thought.
3) It is possible to go from fantasizing about kissing someone to wishing they would be run over by a truck in a matter of two minutes.
Unfortunately, I don’t hold that opinion of him for very long. Not when he shows me a different side of himself—one that’s sweet as maple syrup and hot as apple pie fresh out of the oven. And after a few days of working closely with him and his daughter, he starts looking at me with fire in his eyes, making me dream of something I probably shouldn’t…A family.

What I liked:
-It was fun and light! A good change of pace for me.
-The service dogs were fun to learn about! and going hand in hand with the service dogs was the disability rep!
-A man that not only watches Gilmore Girls, but quotes it throughout the book?! Say lesssss

What I didn’t like:
-Honestly, the romance felt unrealistic and really fast paced. Just weird that Evie spent so much time with this family right from the start when she was meant to be there working? Idk just moved too fast for me maybe.
-Why do prologues always have to be so over the top? I don't want to spoil it but sometimes its just too much. A little mystery at the end isn't a bad thing!

Overall, it’s a fast paced book but it is nice & wholesome if you’re looking for a lighter and quicker read.
