The Nurse’s Lie is a follow-up. It can stand alone but reading The Perfect Nurse first, to have the backstory, helps to fill in the missing pieces of the story. This one seems a little far fetched but that didn’t stop me from flying through the chapters. The last page left me hanging….
There’s got to be another book coming! I look forward to finding out what happens to Darcy and her family.
Thank You to NetGalley, Bookouture, and Daniel Hurst for the opportunity to enjoy this ARC.

Book 2 in this series and I actually liked it better than the first. This is an amazing book, just buy it, and sit back and enjoy the ride. A massive five shiny stars from me. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Nurse's Lie by Daniel Hurst is the second book of The Perfect Nurse series and, in my humble opinion, it is even better than the first.

Told from the alternating perspectives of sisters Pippa and Darcy, we learn that the family continues to isolate Darcy for her own protection. This time, Darcy takes a job caring for early dementia patient named Joe, while Pippa tries to hold her own family together while safeguarding her sister's anonymity, keeping a close eye from afar. I enjoyed learning more about Pippa's personal life as she faces unimaginable circumstances.

I look forward to the continuation of this exciting, thoroughly compelling series. 4.5 stars

Many thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for an ARC.

It was a happy dance day today once again, because the next book on my to read list was one by this author.

The author always delivers and I already knew, in advance, it would be a finger licking story.

In the previous book the reader is being introduced to Darcy and her family and we learn quite a bit about them. By the end, the 'storm' that raged through the bookit  dies down and everybody sighs with relief. In this one though, it returns full force.

Desperate times call for desperate measures and the stress levels skyrocket. How are they going to dodge this bullet?

The author had me racing through the pages, because the story would not let me go before I reached the final word. Great read. 5 stars

Thank you

Thanks to NetGalley for the arc!
As always, I jump when there is an opportunity for an advanced copy of any of Daniel Hurst’s books. I had loved the first in this series and was waiting for this one to come out on KU. I loved it - it expanded on the storyline from the first book and had so many twists to it and brought in a lot more to the overall story! I finished in a few hours!! It left on somewhat of an open ended cliffhanger so I can’t wait to see what comes next!

Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for this Advanced Reader’s Copy of The Nurse’s Lie by Daniel Hurst due to be published August 1, 2024.
I had previously read The Perfect Nurse by Daniel Hurst so I was excited to read this book!
Darcy is caring for a patient, Joe, and helping his son. Unfortunately, she can’t remember more than a couple of weeks before with her amnesia. Only her sister and her parents know why Darcy can’t remember anything and why she is hiding out. Will Darcy recover and remember anything?
I love Daniel Hurst books – they are a fast read and keep me guessing until the end. This one was no different – lots of twists and turns as it alternated between Darcy, her sister, Pippa, and her family. Many secrets are held by all of them – Darcy and her family, and even Joe and his son. I could not put this one down. It even left a cliffhanger to know there will be a third book in this series!

Murder and mayhem...secrets and red herrings...love...family...children...enemies...the recipe for a novel of suspense and mystery. This talented author has written a cannot put down story that is difficult to predict...from page one, I was hooked. I did not want to stop reading until I knew the ending. Do not try to discern that too early. It is not easy. Enjoy. Thanks Netgalley.
