Wow what a crazy story.
Most thrillers end with the big reveal but in this one they kept going all the way through the trial and some. Twist and turn after twist and turn and yet it all flowed seamlessly.
The Amanda character was by far my favorite and I loved how witty and powerful she is. If there is a 2nd book to this story, I would absolutely read it.

Now You Owe Me is a captivating debut that combines a highly intriguing concept with well-developed characters. The novel’s many twists and turns maintain a gripping narrative, and Wright's graphic descriptions add a visceral edge to the story. While some areas of the book drag slightly, the rich detail and suspenseful plot more than make up for it. The ending could benefit from more resolution, but overall, this is a compelling read that showcases Wright's talent and promises exciting things for future works!!!

3.5 ⭐️ read.
This book was captivating, but the ending left me wanting more. I think there was more room for character development. There could be a benefit to some trigger warnings as the topics are graphic. The author did an amazing job of making me feel like i was in the courtroom.

I think this was a solid debut and there’s absolutely room to do some cool things with this character.. The story was certainly captivating and it was a one-day pool read for me. It definitely held my attention, and I did want to keep reading to find out where we’d end up. The twist was great.
I do think, though, that it would benefit from some content warnings since there’s very little development of the story before some very tough things happen. For me, the talk of makeup and fashion also seemed a little out of place outside of the context of the initial development of Amanda’s character - it was distracting more than anything to have detailed descriptions of brand names, etc. I echo some other reviewers that the summary blurb is a little bit misleading and that the story ends rather abruptly, especially without knowing if it is setting up a sequel or series.

WOW WOW WOW. THAT WAS CRAZY!!
Ben and Corinthia, 7 year old twins, witness a gruesome murder. This murder, along with a very messed up home life, lead the twins on a killing spree once they are older. They finally decide enough is enough. But just one more victim won't hurt, right:? Not when they mess with the wrong one...
I was super impressed with this creative plot! Very different from anything I have read before, in the best possible way. The story starts when the twins are only 7 but continues into their adulthood, exploring why they become killers. This made for some really excellent character development.
This book had been super engrossed from the very first page. It is REALLY hard to put down. So many great twists and turns, especially THAT major one (WOWWWW). A chilling, disturbing, and heart pounding novel, to say the least.
Well done Aliah Wright - I cannot wait to read more of your books! Congrats on your first novel you absolutely killed it! (no pun intended)
Thank you Red Hen Press and NetGalley for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

3.5 rounded up because it did keep me captivated and I flew through this read! At first I didnt know if I should read on because it was rather graphic and it had an inappropriate feel. Thank goodness it doesn't get graphic in that way. But the story telling and the trial scenes had me fixated. The author did the research and it shows. With that said, my only complaint was the ending, it was rather abrupt and very lackluster. I was left wanting so much more! But great concept overall, and well written.

I have mixed feelings, but overall, I think this is a successful psychological/crime thriller. I was definitely fooled by the major twist. I didn’t see that coming.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced eARC.

Wow, this book was such a ride! Check the trigger warnings below as it was pretty graphic at times. Benji and Corinthia are twins that live in a rural area of Pennsylvania. Their parents are abusive, neglectful, and unsavory types. At only 7 years old, the twins witness a murder. This triggers something in them, and they eventually become violent. The story follows their childhood and early adulthood. They are responsible for the kidnapping and murdering of several college coeds.
I liked how the story gets into the why of their behavior. How patterns are set in childhood that they don't feel like they can escape. The story is heartbreaking, upsetting, and shocking. I was immediately engrossed in their story and very surprised by the twists it took. The story changes focus as we meet a new character and learn how she fits into the plot. The book is pretty fast-paced and gripping, so readers will want to know what's going to happen next. Highly recommend for those who enjoy thrillers and aren't squeamish!
Trigger warnings: child abuse and neglect, sexual assault, graphic violence, manipulation, etc.
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for providing this ARC. All thoughts are my own.

For a debut novel this was fantastically written, full of exciting and breath-catching twists.
Now You Owe Me was a deep dive in total codependency, unhealthy coping mechanisms to trauma, thrilling investigations were the readers can experience both sides of the coin, an intriguing insight into different psychoses.
It was horrifying, chill-inducing, nightmarish. All the right elements for a great thriller.
This was a very different read, surprising and excellently written. I’m looking forward to seeing more of Aliah Wright in the future.

I could not help but be glued to the book from the very first page to the last one! There are a lot of unforeseen turns in the storyline that made me sit on the edge of my seat. One of the greatest advantages is that characters were well-developed and the plot was almost perfect. Wow… What a great start for a new author, this really is quite a remarkable novel. Looking forward to reading other books by this author. Quite prefect, Wright did very well on this one.
Thank you to Red Hen Press, and NetGalley for allowing me to read and review this book.

This was a shockingly good book! I wasn't sure how to feel originally when I started it, as I usually prefer a supernatural type of horror but this novel reeled me in from the first chapter. The unique plot with mental illness and domestic abuse was brilliant. The characters were well fleshed out and the entire storyline was excellent. What a fantastic debut novel! I will gladly read more books by this author. Well done!

This book will keep you on the edge of your seat until the last page. I was hanging onto to every word. Just when you think you have it figured out, nope the best plot twist pops up. I would definitely buy this book just to read over and over again.

This sounded like a book that I really would have enjoyed but, unfortunately, I wasn't able to read it. My Kindle couldn't open the file despite several attempts of it being downloaded to my reading device. My next attempt was to read it on the NetGalley app installed on my phone and the print was so small, with no way for me to change it. Almost all I could see anyway was page after page of nothing but blank screens with Advance Copy stamped across them. This has never happened with any other book I read from NetGalley so I'm thinking that perhaps this is a corrupted file?
Thank you anyway, NetGalley,
