Summertime Rendering Volume 2 is a collection of volumes 3 and 4 of the SUMMER TIME RENDER series by Yasuki Tanaka that continues the time loop horror story started in the first volume-- people are being replaced by their "shadow" selves, but is it bigger than just that?

Here we have another cliffhanger to lead us into volume 3 (5 in Japan) and onward!

The art is remains good and the characters are really expressive, especially as it gets deeper into the horror of it all, and the inclusion of further notes to sort of recap/re-explain what's all going on here.

Unfortunately the title expired less than two days after my ARC request was approved so I had to grab this volume from the library as I definitely had not downloaded it quick enough! That's on me. But I appreciate publishers throwing older titles up onto NetGalley sometimes to give us the opportunity to read something we may not have been so aware of, or have not gotten around to reading yet. (So thank you to NetGalley and Udon for the eARC!)

Unfortunately I was not able to completely read this ARC due to most of the pages being blank. However, I am really excited to read this book! I loved the anime and cannot wait to read the book as well.

If you enjoy the first one, this one might turn out to be more exciting for you than it was for me. Still, I'd recommend it to give it a try and see if you like it.

In book two he takes what he knows and works with someone else who knows how to kill the shadow copies. Things are starting to look up as they successfully kill the shadow copies and we get to see a little bit of the other characters' side that we didn't see in the first book.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for approving this eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Unfortunately I had to DNF this one, some of the issues I had with the first volume continued through into this, and the plot just wasn't as gripping as I'd hoped for it to be.

The art style is still good throughout, but unfortunately this one just isn't for me.

Like the first one, I wasn’t allowed to read anything there. They were all blank pages. Thank tot for the ARC however!
