Pros: What caught my attention immediately about this book is the cover--it features a Jesus without white skin and blue eyes! I don't think I've ever seen Jesus illustrated this way, and I was thrilled to see what is likely a historically accurate illustration of what He would have looked like. The wonderful illustrations continued throughout this book. This book is short and sweet and covers a simple lesson to read with a toddler who might be able to learn the words and repeat them.
Cons: None really. Not all of the animals in the illustrations are historically/geographically accurate, but I am assuming they make appearances in other books in this FatCat series.
Thank you to NetGalley and Lexham Press | FatCat for the opportunity to read this book.
Cute little board book. I was honestly expecting more (for slightly older children/toddlers), but for a baby book it’s perfectly short. The illustrations are great and I love that Jesus is accurately depicted as NOT being white.
