An interesting lovestory between Aimee and Harrison
The characters
Aimee: American dollar princess who wants nothing but to run her father's business, no marriage certainly not to a peer. Strong willed, bold, proud and unashamedly grabs for what she wants by swapping places with her cousin Evie (an orphaned bastard) before heading to London to take Evies place as secretary in her father's company.
Harrison Stone: Aimees father, Thomas's protegee, orphaned at age 8, mentored by Thomas since age 11. His life long goal is to build an empire, and prove to his father's family that he does not need them. He is also an Earl in waiting. He is in final stages of finishing a deal which will make him an independent and wealthy man. An alpha male, works hard and unashamedly reaches for what he wants wealth and independence. However, the loss of his parents threw him into such a tizzy that he refuses to love again and hence not marry either.
Villians: Harrisons possessive ex Lady Hatley, widowed countess, who feels he belongs to her only even though he broke it off with her. A few deranged girls who are trying to kill Aimee.
Story: Harrison and Aimee collide in every way, physically, intellectually, emotionally (although that takes a long time for either of them to admit). She challenges him every step of the way, with every assumption he makes about her. When he discovers that she is in fact Thomas's daughter and not the neice, he goes ballistic but she blackmails him into keeping her secret. They embark on an affair. He proposes out of honor she refuses. He proposes again, this time agreeing to let her run a business, she tentatively agrees. However things come to head when Harrison almost loses Aimee and even though he loves her, promises her only a marriage of convinience and no love. She walks away.
This book was emotionally charged. Towards the end, I was highly tempted to bonk Harrison on his head, several times. Aimee is just fighting for what she wants. She love working, she fights for it, she loves deeply, she fights for it. But Harrison just breaks her by not fighting back. Ofcourse there is a happy ending for both her and her cousin Evie but I could have definitely had more groveling from Harrison.

I love this series! What is better than a well-done masquerade?
This happens over the same time period as book 1. Two cousins - the wealthy pampered Heiress and her illegitimate orphan companion - switch places (per request of the Heiress heroine of this story of course). I really enjoyed the first book, and this one was just as good. I would recommend both, and they may be read in either order.
Aimee was a very stubborn and determined woman. She inherited many of her parents' positive traits but didn't mind bucking society's rules. She loved numbers and wanted to be her father's business heir.
Harrison was an orphan and didn't have the same monetary benefits growing up that Aimee did, but he was just as stubborn and determined. He dedicated his life to work and achieving his business goals.
These two were similar enough to butt heads but also sharpen each other. I liked both of them individually and their dynamic together.
I look forward to the next in the series. The writing is consistently good, and I definitely plan to read more.

“She'd prove to her father she had a mind for business and wouldn't let anyone stand in her way, not even a man whose lips had captivated her dreams.”
“He raced after her, vowing that when he caught up with her, he was going to spank her on her damn impulsive ass.”
I needed this book!! It so brought me out of the BRIDGERTON season three slump!! Enemies to lovers, fake identity, forced proximity, constant banter and a tension so thick, it will drive you to madness. It definitely does drive Harrison to madness. Aimee’s such a badass female main character and, from what I remember of Evie, they couldn’t be more different. But they do have some similar traits. And their love interests … nothing to complain about. Harrison in this instant was a lot grumpy and crazy for her and a bit brooding. Traumatic past and feelings that are effected from it. An overwhelming passion for a strange woman who’s constantly vexing him until he won’t be able to stand it anymore. But a good hearted man who would see her dreams fulfilled and her passions completed. This book was fun, entertaining, intriguing, sweet and spicy as heck. And I have to admit that this heiress swap duet made me obsessed with the possibility of more stories like this to come!!!
"You drive me insane with desire, do you know that?"
"We belong to each other, Aimee Thornton-Jones," he murmured, his breath a soft whisper against her earlobe. "And the sooner you accept that, the sooner I can make your body writhe in ecstasy once again as I slowly slide inside you, filling you with my cock and thrusting against your hips, over and over again, until you orgasm harder and longer than you ever have before."
"Death is an inevitability for all of us, and if you don't have the courage to love me, even with the possibility you might one day lose me, you don't deserve my love or my hand in marriage."

"The Heiress Masquerade" by Maddison Michaels is a captivating historical romance where intrigue and passion intertwine. Set in a world of secrets and deception, Michaels weaves a tale of love and ambition where masks hide desires and true identities. Perfect for fans of historical fiction looking for a blend of romance and mystery.

Ok, this regency was great. Spunky Aimee was the best kind of heroine who enchanted everyone, including the hero in spite of themselves.
Lots of action and romance.
I definitely want to hear the other half of the story. I hope there's an Evie book.
Recommended.

Aimee is an American heiress that is more interested in running her father's shipping business than to marry a tittle man, but her family don't agree so she will be visiting London in order to introduced to the ton.
But Aimme will have none of that, since her cousin is traveling with her, she has the brilliant idea to switch places, that way she can get a closer look at her father's London branch while her cousin can enjoy herself in museums.
All would have gone as planned if not for Harrison, the man in charge for the London office and the one that saves her from a difficult situation she was already handling. Which creates some animosity between the two that with time leads to banter and sexual tension.
In the previous book in the series we got to see Evie's story once she arrived in London so I was so glad that we also got Aimee's romance in this book.
I enjoyed everything about their romance, from the not so meet cute till the way they connected and finally gave in to their feelings.
Harrison is certain of a lot things in his life, meeting Aimee changes his plan in a way he could never see coming and that messes with his head until he can come to terms with it all.
I truly enjoyed how in the two books of the series we got both of the cousin's povs and the two romances that happened because of that switch.
* I received an ARC and this is my honest opinion.

I received this from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This is book 2 in the dollar princess series. It has been a little while since I have read book 1 so I really didn't remember much. I wish I did remember the conversations that the cousins had with each other. I did like the story it was fast moving and fun. Looking forward to the next one in the series.

I was extremely fortunate to receive an ARC of The Heiress Masquerade written by the absolutely amazing Maddison Michaels. This unbelievable author kept me up late into the morning because I just couldn't stop wanting to know what would happen to Aimee Thornton-Jones, who is pretending to be her cousin, all so that she can be a part of her father's business. The English branch of her father's multi million dollar business is currently being operated by Harrison Stone. The chemistry between these two people is electrifying; the banter is not only amusing, but also extremely forthright and refreshing. Neither wants to marry, but the magnetic pull is too strong for them not to be in close proximity where one whiff of the other means kissing and one kiss means many more kisses. The plot, the characters, the mystery and some sabotage and subterfuge are all incredible. Maddison Michaels' books are all unique and extremely well written with flawless storytelling. An absolutely beautiful story!

In The Heiress Masquerade by Maddison Michaels, heiress Aimee Thornton-Jones, who resides in New York, has discovered her mother's plan to marry her off into the English aristocracy, thereby securing their social position in society, but she has her plans. They have decided to secretly switch places with her illegitimate cousin, Evie, so that she can take part in the operations of the Thornton-Jones empire as a trainee in London, where her mother plans to ship her, and hopes that no one finds out about their masquerade. But most of the time, she almost jeopardizes her own plan because she is impulsive and stubborn, which is the opposite of her cousin Evie.
Harrison Stone, who is the head of the London arm of the Thornton-Jones empire, is having a hard time dealing with Aimee, whom he has discovered to be the opposite of how Mr. Thomson described her. Harrison is determined to succeed because, unlike Aimee, he is the unwanted heir of his uncle, the Earl of Carlisle, and earldom costs money, so he has to go the extra mile to fulfill his role. And then here comes Aimee, who is as willful and stubborn as she was charming and confident, which makes Harrison, who is known to be in control, lose his focus, and he is no longer sure what to make of it.
I admired the author's ability to keep the readers engaged in the story, the love-hate relationship intrigues the story. There is a lot of conflict and so many obstacles for the two main characters to overcome, which is a good thing. Additionally, I like the main characters. Aimee as a character is impulsive, stubborn, and willful, and on the other hand, Harrison, although charming, is arrogant but focused, and determined to succeed. Their character traits make them disagree on a lot of matters, and this heightens conflict between them making the story more fascinating.
What did not appear real was how they met for the first time. It seems very far-fetched, but maybe the author was trying to put across how impulsive Aimee is.
I would gladly rate this book, The Heiress Masquerade by Maddison Michaels, five out of five stars because of the captivating and beautiful story the author has presented
I recommend this book to those readers who enjoy historical fiction books based on enemies-to-lovers stories. This book has brought out the enemies-to-lovers theme perfectly, which is applaudable.

First, I want to say that I could not put this book down. It was immediately captivating. Loved Aimee, who is an intelligent, strong willed American woman set to defy typical societal norms and hopes to one day run her father’s company. And don’t get me started on the 6’3 hunky Harrison. He is the charming, confident, strong but obstinate protégé running Aimee’s father’s company in London.
The sharp wit and banter between Harrison and Aimee was perfect. The chemistry of the characters was palpable. Through all the bickering and arguing you can sense the sexual tension and desire they have for one another.
This is a great historical, enemies to lovers trope with a dash of spice and mystery. Highly recommend!
Thank you Netgalley and Entangled Publishing for the opportunity to read an electronic copy of “The Heiress Masquerade” by Madison Michaels.

Such a beautiful cover, there's something about a ball gown that just grabs my attention. This is book 2 in the Dollar Princess series. Somehow, I'm not sure how it keeps happening, but I keep reading book 2 in the series first. I loved the swapping identities concept. Aimee Thornton-Jones wants nothing more than to work for her father's company. Her cousin, Evie Jenkins, just wants to fall in love and have a family. Aimee decides that their trip is the perfect opportunity to switch places for a couple weeks. Aimee is impulsive, smart, stubborn, creative, confident and argumentative. Her boss, Harrison Stone is smart, strong, chivalrous, determined, hard working and a bit oblivious. Once these two meet, the gloves come off. The back and forth is hysterical. Neither one of them is completely honest with the other, how on earth could that not go wrong? If they'd both stop being so stubborn, they'd realize that they work really well together. I really enjoyed their story and I will be reading book 1, The Heiress Swap, I definitely need to know what happened to Evie.

This is the second book in the Dollar Princess series, and it follows Aimee, who switched places with her cousin (and the protagonist) in The Heiress Swap, so instead of searching for a titled husband as her mother wishes, she can work at her father's company and prove she has the ability to take over. Like the first book, the characters are layered and interesting, the mystery is intriguing, and the romance is swoon-tastic!
Aimee is ambitious, intelligent, and strong-willed - the perfect complement to Harrison. Determined to take over her father's company, she's definitely a woman ahead of her time, and through her story we see the gender biases and lack of options many women had at the time. Bold and opinionated with an acerbic humor and a sharp wit, she is nothing like the shy and reserved woman Harrison, the man slated to take over her father's role and her nemesis, expected, especially with her business savvy and strong grasp of languages. And I loved Harrison! He's a layered and interesting character too, and I became really invested in his story.
Something I always enjoy in Maddison Michaels's romances is the exceptional banter. Aimee and Harrison have an incredible amount of chemistry, and the banter between them is antagonistic and funny and filled with sexual tension. Through all their bickering and arguing, you can see how attracted they are to each other. So do the sexy times! I definitely needed a fan for this one! lol Watching these two fall in love as they work together and try to figure out who's threatening her father's company is super swoon-worthy.
If you liked The Heiress Swap, you'll definitely enjoy The Heiress Masquerade. It's fun and sexy, and I can't wait to read the next book in the series! Special thanks to Entangled Publishing for providing me with a copy of the book. All thoughts are my own.

I love, love , love banter and this story gives it to you in spades! I loved how Harrison and Aimee first meet and all the hyjinx that goes on makes for a deliciously, exciting story. This is filled with a bit of mystery, that has you guessing until the big reveal- with a twist I never saw coming. Watching Harrison try SO DESPERATELY not to fall in love is so heartbreaking and seeing Aimee’s father manipulate him so well was fun to watch, especially with the Eiffel Tower scene with him, her and the Count- that was hilarious! The way the author weaved her first book with this one was so well done, without giving all the details of the first book. Can’t wait for the third book as the Earl of Brexton gets his story, which sounds so very fun as well! Well plotted, well written with wonderful characters!
I received this ARC for free and these are my own opinions.

I have been waiting for this book for over a year and Maddison Michaels delivered. I love most of everything she writes but this really was the best. And I really appreciated the glimpses of other characters from past books making their appearances!!

*ARC REVIEW*
Thank you to entangled publishing for the opportunity!!!
At first I was hesitant when I began to read. Only because it was giving me very similar vibes to Bridgerton. However, I am so GLAD I continued. The FMC had me constantly laughing with her witty banter/sharp tongue and I found myself rooting for her at every turn.
Take no crap FMC….sexy as heck MMC.
Worth the read.

Thank you NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for the arc of "The Heiress Masquerade" by Maddison Michaels.
What a gem! A heroine with feminist views, amazing spice, and a mystery? What else could you want?! Couldn't put it down! Also I loved the balance between spice and plot, very well done. Great plot as well and very lovable main characters.

OMG. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this brilliant, amazing book.
I read it nonstop from start to finish in one day.
It is so not your typical romance novel. Engrossing and so hot. Just loved, loved it!!
Amazing characters!
Highly recommend!!!

If you like historical romance, enemies to lovers, and a bit of mystery, then The Heiress Masquerade is your next read. The female main character Aimee is set on learning her father's business, but her parents are set on her marrying. They send her to stay in England for the summer while her cousin gets to learn how to be a secretary at her father's overseas office. Aimee is determined to learn her family's business and naturally, convinces her cousin to swap places with her. Harrison, the man running Aimee's father's company in England is her enemy number one as she wants to run the business in the future. From their first interaction, there is an undeniable chemistry between the two. There's also the mystery of who is sabotaging a business deal.
Aimee is stubborn, bold, clever, and decent at faking an English accent. Meanwhile Harrison is equally as stubborn, handsome, and dedicated to making the company a success. Both main characters lash at each other with witty banter laced with a sizzle. It was a fast, fun read.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

I was ecstatic when I was informed this book was finally available!
"The heiress masquerade" takes place at the same time as "the heiress swap" relating the story of Aimee, who is impersonating her cousin Evie to try and get more insight in her father's company to convince him she is the future leader the company needs.
While her family think her busy in the glittering ballrooms looking for a lord to marry, she is instead working alongside her longtime nemesis: Harrison, her father's protegè and possible future leader of the company.
As it always is with Maddison Michaels' books, the story is really well written, the characters beautifully designed and full of life, the dialogues are entertaining and the bantering brilliant!
It was really difficult to put the book down as I wanted to know how the story will unfold!
My level of eagerness: reading at 3 in morning!
Thanks to the author and the publisher for providing me with an ARC.

The story evolves around two cousins who switch places in England in order to fulfill Aimee’s dream of becoming invaluable to her father’s business in a man’s world.
Aimee encounters Harrison the man in charge and the exciting romp of arguing and banter begins as they work together.
Each has their goals for the future which may not include the other.
Enjoyable read and characters are well drawn. Some fun sexy scenes add to the storyline.
