I really like this series. I particularly think she does a good job of showing the “warts and all” of modern day policing and how difficult it must be if you are one of the ones that wants to do the right thing. I think her world building is great and as you learn more and more of the other precinct cops, you care more and more about all of them.

As the team investigates the dead body found on the premise, it bears a striking and eerie familiarity to an incident that happened many years ago in the same spot. The more they follow up, it becomes apparent someone is out for justice and will do whatever it takes to make it right. Meanwhile Harri is determined to prove that her partner did not commit suicide. I like the symmetry between the murder investigation and the exoneration of Harri’s former partner. The author did a great job in staging this mystery with a wickedly solid plot, visually descriptive narrative, and engaging dialogue that kept me immersed in all aspects from the first page to the exploding conclusion. Overall, this was a riveting and grippingly suspenseful tale and I can’t wait to see what awaits Harri, Vera, and the rest of the team.

Most series are written to read as standalones these days but, it would really put the characters perspectives into focus if you have knowledge of the past events. Harri is a Detective who’s haunted by the loss of her partner, she doesn’t believe the version presented by the police force she gives her soul to. She keeps working her current cases while continuing to investigate what circumstances led to her partner’s untimely, tragic death. Harri is so consumed by grief, sorrow and personal loss I wondered how she could survive. An elite school for the wealthy privileged was attended by generations and where your name meant more than grades. The death of one of those students near an off campus house reeks of cover-ups. Nobody’s going to be helpful, scenes are cleaned up, no one offers information. It’s a senseless death, you’d think at least the victim’s family would care. Turns out a similar death occurred years ago. It’s a dark, twisted journey for Harri and the team to find the truth. I’ve found all in this series to be powerful and filled with suspense. I look forward to reading what this author writes next.
Thanks to Thomas & Mercer for providing the Advance Reader Copy via NetGalley of Echo (Detective Harriet Foster Series #3) by Tracy Clark, Publication expected 12/03/2024. These are my own honest personal thoughts and opinions expressed without expectation of compensation.

Echo has been described in promotions as the conclusion of the Detective Harriet Foster series by Tracy Clark after three books. Harriet (nicknamed Harri) is a Chicago detective whose deceased father was also a cop. Her 14-year-old son was murdered, leaving a hole in Harri's life, but we don't hear much about him in this book.
One of the plots deals with the mysterious death of Harri's former partner and the ruining of her reputation as a cop. A shadowy ex-con who has emerged from prison seems to be taking responsibility for what happened to her and gleefully making pointed threats to the safety of Harri and her family. At the same time, Harri and her current partner, Vera, are investigating the death of a local college student whose billionaire father owns the exclusive house where selected students live and wild parties are frequent. Could this death be connected to another student who was also found dead outside the house 30 years earlier? And is there a vendetta against everyone who may have been involved in the earlier death?
I found this third book in the series the least satisfying, mainly because the theme of vigilante justice is troublesome, and I missed the touches of humor that provided a respite from the bleakness in earlier books. However, I have enjoyed the characters of Harri, her partner, and the team of detectives that support them.
My thanks to Thomas & Mercer and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and provide an honest review of this book.

I love this series and this book did not disappoint. Fast paced with so many twists. But I’m still left with some questions, I really hope there will be more. Because I’m so invested in the characters. Every book gets better and better. Gritty, fast and twisty! Perfect for fans of Lisa Regan, Robert Dugoni, Charly Cox and Lisa Gardner.

I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to the editor for sending me an advance copy of this upcoming title. Your hard work and dedication to this project are truly commendable, and I am incredibly honored to have the opportunity to review it before its official release.

I am genuinely excited about this title and eager to share my thoughts and insights. Having the chance to read it in advance has been a wonderful experience, and I am confident that readers will be just as captivated by it as I am.
Thank you once again for this incredible opportunity. Your support and trust in my feedback mean a great deal to me. I look forward to continuing to work together and witnessing the success of this fantastic book.

This is the third book in the series and I have loved every one. There are two mysteries in this book for Harri to solve. One a college boy found dead in a field and the other a man seeking revenge. Harri and her partner Li are up to the challenge. .

Echo (Detective Harriet Foster Book 3) by Tracy Clark A very gripping whodunit filled with suspense, intrigue, murder, cold cases, crooked cops, a secret society, and some insanely wild twists and turns. This the third book in the Detective Harriet Foster Trilogy which had enough background narrative interwoven into the story that it can be read as a stand alone. Since we lived in Chicago for a time, it was interesting to read the descriptive passages of the different South Side Chicago areas. Personally would like to see more cases with Harri and her team.
Thank you to Tracy Clark, Thomas & Mercer, and Netgalley for the opportunity to preview the book.

This was such a great mystery. Mystery lovers will enjoy it. Don’t skip this one on publication day.

Echo by T. Clark is the final book in her Detective Harriet Foster Trilogy, published by Thomas & Mercer.
Harri has her work laid out for her. There are two storylines, two cases she has to master. The story picks up where the previous book was left off. Her partner was found dead, she's still getting weird pictures, calls and notes. And a college student was found lifeless near campus. To make matters worse he's from an influental family and tied to a 30 year old case.
Harri is a flawed heroine and she knows it. She is through a lot and has the scars to prove it. She's looking for justice for her partner, the victims, her own family.
An outstanding read, one of my favs in 24, I recommend the book and the series.

Thank you to NetGalley and Thomas & Mercer for the eARC in exchange for my honest review.
This is the 3rd Harriet Foster book in the series and, in my opinion, the best yet. I really enjoyed how the background plot from the series came to prominence in this 3rd in the series but didn't play 2nd fiddle to the book's main storyline. Both kept me very interested, and did justice (no pun intended) to Foster's character. Foster is a flawed but driven cop in this series and you find yourself always rooting for her.
5 stars.

Thanks to NetGalley and Thomas & Mercer for the opportunity to read Echo by Tracy Clark, the latest in the line of terrific books by a terrific writer. Keep 'em coming!

Hardwicke House, home to Belverton College’s exclusive Minotaur Society, is no stranger to tragedy. And when a body turns up in the field next to the mansion, the scene looks chillingly familiar. Chicago PD sends hard-nosed Detective Harriet “Harri” Foster to investigate. The victim is Brice Collier, a wealthy Belverton student, whose billionaire father, Sebastian, owns Hardwicke and ranks as a major school benefactor. Sebastian also has ties to the mansion’s notorious past, when thirty years ago, hazing led to a student’s death in the very same field!
Good read!! Wow some wild characters! This book had suspense, intrigue, murder, mystery, secret society, revenge, a good who done it and some crazy twists and turns! The story was very interesting! I definitely recommend reading this one! Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!
