A delightful Regency-era romance that is both charming and entertaining. The writing style captures the period's elegance while delivering a fun and engaging story. The characters are endearing, and their witty banter adds a delightful touch. A thoroughly enjoyable read from start to finish.

This book had me rolling from the first sentence. The book was so well written I felt like I was there in the ballroom with the characters. Sooo good.
Issie and Bella are cousins and when Issie’s mother dies they stay to morn at Issie’s home. However a relative of Issie is insistent that she come and have her debut in London. Issie however doesn’t feel well about this, she is very anxious and she asks Bella to go do one outing as her. And from here the story rolls. Some of the situations that Bella finds her self in are so funny. For me the funniest point of the story happens in a ballroom with a button and I couldn’t stop laughing.
This book has it all romance friends ship laughter and found family. Loved this book!!!!
I am so happy I had already pre-ordered this book.
Thank you to NetGalley and Berkeley publishing Group for the ARC!!

Today I’m reviewing The Wrong Lady Meets the Right Lord by Suzanne Allain. In this historical romance, we follow two cousins, Arabella Grant and her noble cousin Isabelle. With Isabelle’s horrible mother in the grave, both girls find themselves in an inescapable situation, with Arabella nearly penniless and Isabelle, as sickly as she is, not ready to make her debut to the ton. Since both girls look slightly alike, they fool the ton, and Isabelle’s relatives (at least her great-aunt) by trading places. Little did either young lady expect the consequences of their actions, and how they could find happiness in the most unlikely of places.

I’ve found myself a new favorite author when it comes to regency-era romance, book friends! This was such a delightful book. I loved the ruse of trading places, and watching Arabella take the spotlight, becoming the belle of the season and ensnaring the irresistible Lord Brooke.

This was a quick and fun read, with moments that were laugh out loud delightful (the opening in particular, where Arabella and Lord Brooke meet, was a treat). If you like your romance novels tame, and a few unexpected plot twists, The Wrong Lady Meets The Right Lord is a romp of a novel that will enchant romance readers from start to finish.

A captivating historical romance that swept me off my feet! Rich in detail, compelling characters, and a love story that will linger long after the last page. A definite 5-star read!

I was a little wary of this premise, because I wasn't sure if I could get behind the lie. But, it turns out I could. Despite the artless naivete of their actions, Bella does pause to fully examine her reasons for agreeing to the deception and also considers the consequences. In the end, she concludes that the lie is worth living and, honestly, I like a character who seizes opportunity with eyes wide open like that. When viewed from her perspective within immovable class constructs, I might do the same.

The relationship between Bella and Issie is particularly well done. It's always nice to see two close female relatives not be in competition with one another and just have each other's best interests at heart. I liked Dr. Jordan and Lord Brooke, the girls' respective love interests, and I was glad that the imposter plot didn't unfold entirely as predicted. (Although, I did basically cry for poor, sensitive Issie when the deception backfired on her first.)

Another quick and glittering ensemble Regency romance!
