This book was so adorable! Not only was the story great but the illustrations were fantastic. Very bright and colorful. The story held my son's attention. Will be recommending this to my friend with little kids.

The illustrations tell it all in this rhyming story! Three adorable, fluffy cats enjoy a day's activities: spying out a window at people passing, running from the postal carrier, but loving the box he brings, and eagerly waiting for food. The kitties' detailed surroundings are perfect for "seek and find," with lots going on! This is a perfect book for Storytime at home or in the library. Anyone who loves cats will be entranced with this book!

With the perfect blend of humor and detail, this little picture book will be a great addition to a young reader library. While the rhyming text is sometimes a bit forced, the cadence is still fantastic for reading aloud one on one, especially as this will allow for both child and care giver to really explore the detail provided on each page. Whether a child is amused by dogs doing "what dogs do" or interested in spotting the construction equipment in the busy city landscape, the paper collage images will pull them into the story! Many of the moments will be familiar to any child with a cat of their own, but this book will be particularly relatable to children living with their pets in an urban setting as the rhythms of city life are beautifully displayed. Thank you to NetGalley for access to this arc.

There are very few children's books that I fall in love with. However, this book ticked all the boxes. Three fluffy cats...check. Fun city living...check. Delightful illustrations...check. Every page is filled with details allowing children and the reader to have conversations outside the story. Independent pre-readers could explore this book and find the story unfolding without the help of the written words. The cats are so fluffy you can almost see the cat hair floating off the page.

Three City Kitties is an adorable picture book that follows Nori, Yeti, and Flo throughout their day as indoor cats in a city. They get to observe through a window, play chase and get up to other usual cat antics. The art in this book sets it apart from its straightforward text. With gorgeous paper cut outs adding depth and texture to each page, anyone of any age will get enjoyment out of this book.

I requested this because cats. It’s a cute rhyming story about…three indoor cats who live in the city. It might be a fun one for a cat-themed storytime for toddlers, or just a younger crowd of preschoolers. There’s not much *to* the story, so older kiddos would probably get bored. But it is fun to try to spot the kitties in all of the illustrations. They are adorably fluffy!

Three City Kitties is a super cute read for toddlers and preschoolers. Simple, descriptive text about the three city kitties and what is going on in the world outside their home is complemented by vibrant and bold collage style illustrations. This will make a great read-aloud or Storytime book and is a must have for public and home libraries alike.

A colorful collage picture book with a cute rhyming story about the life of 3 city kitties. My little loved finding the cats in each picture & seeing what they were up to.

Who can resist a book with three beautiful, fluffy cats on the cover? The story is simple but charming - the cats look out the window, eat, play with a box, and chase each other - and is accompanied by smoothly flowing text. The cut-paper collage art delights with vivid colors and a lot of detail.

Princess Fuzzypants here: This is a delightful book with enchanting artwork that will thrill any young reader. It is written in simple rhyme and tells the stories of three indoor kitties who live full lives watching the world go by out their window. It is very similar to the life I live. And one of the kitties even looks like he might be a Maine Coon, just like me.

Even though it will be published in September, I think it would make an excellent addition to any seasonal gift giving. Five purrs and two paws up.

I really liked the illustrations in this book. The cats were cute and energetic. It was an enjoyable story, but I feel like it ended too abruptly.

A truly delightful little book! I have no doubt that little ones will love this book.
I'll start with the illustrations. They were great! There was so much detail included, which truly shows how thoughtful the illustrator is. The coloring of these detailed illustrations brought the story to life. The pops of color really helped to convey the hustle-and-bustle of the city in which the kitties live in. The drawings had a kind of "playhouse" feel to them. By that I mean that everything is colorful, everyone has an easily recognizable job, and there is so much detail for kids to notice and discover within the drawings.
As for the story, I thought it was very accurate to how city life is for cats. Additionally, there is no shortage of entertainment as the reader follows Flo, Yeti, and Nori through their day. This is the main reason why I think kids will really enjoy reading this book or having it read to them.
Cute book! Good job!

“Three City Kitties” follows a day in the life of Nori, Yeti, and Flo, three indoor kitties who spend a good deal of time watching the world go by. They live in a gloriously catified house with lots of ways for them to engage body and mind. Though they hide from the delivery person, they DO enjoy the box that is left behind!

I read the e-book ARC of this story. The illustrations are striking and look like they are cutouts of layered paper. This gives the illustrations the appearance of dimension. The pictures also help to give the kitties purr-sonality.

Overall, this is a fun book for cat lovers of all ages. It would be a great story to read with a young child so you could have a conversation about everything going on in the pictures.

I received an advance review copy for free from NetGalley and Owlkids Books, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

The cover is cute and eye-catching. The text's rhymes and sounds are simple to follow and understand, and they add a pleasant tone to the reading experience. The artwork is realistic, charming, well-done, and sometimes appears three-dimensional. The author does a wonderful job discussing and demonstrating everyday cat activities. I enjoyed how the author based the novel on her three city cats. I see some nice learning opportunities and topics in this book, including crafts (draw or create your own city cat), cat behavior, and city life. My only concern was that I wished the book had been longer so that readers could see and bond more with the three cats, Nori, Yeti, and Flo. Ashley Barron's Three City Kitties is a quick, delightful read with colorful drawings and an easy-to-follow plot that children will appreciate.

As a cat lover, I adored this! The art style was so awesome and the stacked paper looked almost 3D. I loved all the little details in it, there was so much to look at! It was so bright and lively, and was perfect to follow the adorable storyline of a day in the life of the three city cats, Nori, Yeti, and Flo. It was a great length, the rhymes were not forced or corny, and I can definitely see myself using this for a cat themed storytime!
