I didn't expect to have so many feelings about this MG graphic novel! Crumble is about a young girl and her family that has the power to bake emotions into their desserts. It was adorable and whimsical, but also incredibly sad. This book does deal heavily with grief, but it handles it really well.
I loved the magic that was worked into this world, and the inclusion of a gender non-conforming character. I would definitely recommend this one to anyone looking for a bittersweet graphic novel with lots of baking fun. Thanks to NetGalley, Meredith McClaren, and Algonquin Young Readers for the chance to read and review! My opinions are my own.

I wasn’t expecting to cry over this book, but it was so beautiful. It talks about loss, and how to deal with it. I loved the little recipes it showed and how to make them. The friendship and the support. I would recommend others to read this book.

dang, right in the feels with aunt gina - my daughter likes graphic novels and i like to read them with her. figured this would be a good one, ended up enjoying it but also a heavy topic

This was absolutely adorable, and definitely a title that I will be handselling. I adored the concept of baking different foods and each one having a different emotional effect on the eater. I loved the discussion of grief and the inability to move on.

Excellent, heartwarming graphic novel that tenderly deals with tough situations. Illustrations are beautiful and characters feel so real. I’d highly recommend to kids and adults alike!
