In true Debbie Macomber fashion, this book was off the charts! The immediate attraction between Hailey and Jay was so believable and such a treat to feel like I was sitting in the front row watching instead of reading. The townsfolk made it magical. I wanted to thump Hailey’s mother and ex boyfriend a time or two. But the magic of Christmas, overcoming obstacles , and a good wholesome relationship was what put this over the top for me. This is one of those books that is so good, I have to psyche myself up for reading the next book.
As always Debbie Macomber writes a great romance story. Hailey Morgan is fed up with an old boyfriend who suddenly tries to get back together just before Christmas. She wants nothing to do with it so when things get complicated she decides to go away and do her dream of writing songs. Not telling anyone where she's going. When the cat is let out of the bag so to speak and all complications possible happen she's not sure what to do. All was going so well and she met a person who has the same love of music as her and now it could all be ruined. It is a quick read and the characters are interesting. It's great to really like the main characters. A busybody mom but a loving family dynamic makes the story good. Great sweet pre-Christmas read. Thank you, Net Galley and Random House Publishing for the warm-hearted ARC.

This was a very sweet holiday romance by one of my favorite authors. The characters were very relatable and realistic, and the novel was well paced.
This is a story of family and love that revolves around Christmas. The Mother is a tad annoying, but she means well. A good book to put you in the mood for Christmas. Thank you to net galley for n advanced readers copy.
When you pick up any Debbie Macomber book you know that you are going to be swept into a lovely romance book full of delightful settings and characters. This is a Christmas story full of family dynamics and one you will not want to put down. During a really hot August there is nothing better than to curl up with a cup of tea and the latest book by one of my very favorite authors. There is no need to even hint at the story, just know you will be totally absorbed and sad to finish it. I loved it and think almost everyone who reads it will also.
I wish to thank Net Galley and Random House Publishing Group – Ballantine Books for allowing me to read an advanced copy of this book. I have voluntarily read and reviewed this advanced copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I love Debbie Macomber books, especially her Christmas books. This one does not disappoint! In true Debbie fashion this is a heartwarming story about family, love, and happy endings. This is a must read for all fans of her books!
Who doesn't love Debbie Macomber's books! This one is no exception! There's nothing like curling up with a great Christmas story in August and this tree all li love this book, thank you for writing such a great book!
Debbie sure knows how to show what it is like when you need to tap into your creative side! Some people just don't understand what that is like. Hailey gets support from Jay but struggles with that from her family. She gets some support from her sister, but she is fighting her own battles too. It is great to see this story all come together in the end! Great read!
Hailey Morgan has always wanted to be a songwriter. Instead, giving in to pressure from her overbearing mother, she’s a high school teacher. This Christmas, after learning that her mother has invited her former boyfriend Zach to share Christmas with the family, Hailey accepts her friend’s offer to use her family cabin. She looks forward to spending her holiday composing music and spending her vacation alone. She won’t be alone for long. A chance meeting with the son of the general store owner quickly leads to the beginnings of a relationship. Jay is a songwriter and performer and is now a music producer. Things will not go smoothly, however, if you are reading a book by Debbie Macomber, you know that love will triumph.
A Christmas Duet is a sweet, heartwarming story about families and love. It also happens to be about Christmas. What could be better? 5 stars.
Thank you to NetGalley, Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine and Debbie Macomber for this ARC.
I usually get excited when I can read and review this author. Her stories are consistently heartwarming and beautifully true to life. This one is no exception.
Macomber does not shy away from the tough parts of being a family. Hailey’s mother is obsessive when it comes to her daughter’s love life and will not quit trying to guide and influence her choices. The impact of her behavior is felt throughout this story.
I love it when someone can empower themselves to step away when they need to, and even with the crushing guilt, the outcome is usually strength and healing.
Making a stand in this story means opening a door to the unexpected along with a new vision and chance at a new life. I love how the author blends her characters through the discovery of something and someone new, especially when it is tied to a new romance.
A Christmas Duet is a wonderful heartwarming holiday story that brings emotion, family ties, healing and forgiveness, and a cozy small-town feel.
A heart-warming story of self discovery and love. Hailey and Jay are the perfect couple that have their ups and downs but still found love.
Thank you NetGalley for approving my request to read this wonderful Christmas story by Debbie Macomber. I look forward to this one every year. You can never go wrong with any of her books. She never disappoints. Hailey is an assistant band director whose dream has always wanted to write songs for a living. As the school holidays approach, she is not looking forward to going home for Christmas for a couple of reasons. One she wants some time alone to follow her passion for songwriting AND she wants to avoid her ex boyfriend who her mother has invited to spend the holidays at their family home. Yes her mother is determined to get them back together. So when Hailey’s best friend hears her dilemma, she offers up her family home where they always met for holidays. It hasn’t been used anymore due to the loss of family members. So Hailey takes her up on her offer. Little did she know that this holiday would be much more than she bargained for. So be sure to add this beautifully written book on your must read list. You will love how this all turns out.
A Christmas Duet gave me all the warm and fuzzy Christmas feels. Debbie Macomber's books are always such a treat, and this one was no exception. When you mix her amazing writing with the magic of Christmas, you just can't go wrong!
