It's Christmas break for Hailey and her plans change from spending the holidays with her parents when she's invited to spend the break alone at a friend's family cabin to work on her songwriting. The adventures begin when she arrives at the cabin to find no electricity and a raccoon in the cabin. Enter Jay, former band member who is home for the holidays and helping out at the family store, who comes to her rescue. That's just the beginning of what turns into a wild Christmas for Hailey, and Jay too. Read this one to find out what else happens to them and watch their romance develop while her songwriting career takes off.

A Christmas Duet by Debbie Macomber is a light Christmas story. Hailey, a band teacher, always dreamed of writing music right from a little girl. Her dream was crushed by a boyfriend who she had hoped to marry. Hailey decides her Christmas break from school would be a perfect time to spend time writing song again. . After meeting a fellow musician, Jay, she knew she met her soulmate. Thank you to NetGalley for allowing me to read this novella prior to its publication.
As a fan of Debbie Macomber and her writing, this book was wonderful. She delivers yet another sweet, relatable romance while reminding readers that anything is possible.
Debbie Macomber’s "A Christmas Duet" is a heartwarming holiday tale that blends romance with rediscovery. Hailey Morgan finds solace in a remote cabin, only to be joined by Jay, a charming musician. Together, they kindle sparks over music and Christmas traditions, while navigating family drama and unexpected revelations. Macomber’s narrative weaves cozy settings with poignant moments, celebrating love, music, and the festive season in a feel-good story that reminds us of the joy found in unexpected connections and personal growth. Perfect for fans of uplifting romance and Christmas spirit.
"In this beautiful Christmas story from #1 New York Times bestselling author Debbie Macomber, a woman's lone holiday trip leads her to rediscover her passion—and remember that, sometimes, duets are more fun."
Haley and Jay chemistry were great. I would love maybe even another story on focusing on Daisy and Charles would be awesome.
This book did not fail to meet my exceptions. It held my attention span all the through the book and left me wanting more at the end of each chapter. I could not put the book down waiting to read what happens next. In true Debbie Macomber style the book is written in fine detail and does not leave anything out for one to wonder about. Her style she gives her reader the best in romance while at the same time wrapping the story up in a perfect present.
For me, this was a really fast read. It was soothing, had a nice flow, and filled me with lots of pleasant sentiments like winter vibes and snow! I would definitely recommend this to not only someone that has read past Macomber’s books but to those who want a cozy read. This is one of her best Christmas stories that I have read in a long while.

A Christmas Duet is another wonderful Debbie Macomber must read! Sometimes the greatest gift is believing in someone. This book is all that and more!
Thank you Debbie Macomber, NetGalley and Random House Publishing for the advance Christmas in July read.
A Christmas Duet by Debbie Macomber. Very happy to have a new Christmas book by Debbie Macomber which always adds that bit extra holiday spirit. Enjoyed the pleasant story about Hailey and Jay and their HEA. Daisy and Charles were an interesting couple and could easily have their own story.
Thank you to Ms Macomber, Random House Publishing Group-Ballantine, and Netgalley for the opportunity to preview the book.
Somebody slap that mother!! Not only is she bossy, interfering, and almost stalkerish, she helps Hailey's ex stalk and harass her! I usually like Debbie's books better than this. Didn't seem to be on par. I didn't care much for the overall storyline compared to other books, but it was still a cute Christmas book. I would have kicked all of those people out of the cabin and refused to have anything to do with the mother. Lots of childish drama in Zach and her mom along with entitlement! Cute ending, but a lot of this book was just irritating.
Loved this one! Great and fun read. Highly recommend.
Many thanks to the publisher, Netgalley, and the author for my ARC.
This is a pleasant, if bland, Christmas novella that is so full of dysfunctional relationships that it was a challenge to feel much empathy for any of the characters. I usually enjoy the author’s seasonal offerings, but this one does not measure up to her past body of work, which is usually inspirational. I realize this rating is in the minority given the popularity of Macomber’s books, and all the 5-star ratings, but this one was just average.
My thanks to the author, the publisher, and NetGalley for the privilege of reviewing this book. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Every year I look forward to the new Christmas book from Debbie Macomber. They always bring such joy and peace. This was no different.
I loved this story so much. I got very invested in the lives of these characters. They felt so real it was hard to untangle myself from them when I had to put it down for a while.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a clean and cozy Christmas book. This would also be an amazing Christmas present.

Hailey is a music teacher at a Portland high school. She and her boyfriend Zach broke up several years ago, and now he is trying to get back together. Hailey's interfering mother Julia really liked Zach, and desperately wants grandchildren, so Zach gets Julia to invite him for Christmas against Hailey's wishes. Hailey escapes to her friend's cabin in rural Podunk where she meets Jay, who is also a musician and is visiting his mom for the holidays. A comedy of errors ensues when everyone tracks Hailey down, but her desire to be a songwriter is supported unconditionally by Jay. Of course, Debbie provides her usual feel good happily ever after ending for everyone. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC.
Amazing Holiday themed read.
This is the story of Hallie whose desires to write music take her to a Cabin in Podunk, Oregon that is owed by the Grandparents (of her friend).
She needs time away to think about what she really wants in life. Her family wants her to spend the holidays with them and her ex boyfriend, Zach who does not believe in her dreams but it looking for a second chance. This story is about the amazing things that happen during Hallie's time in the Cabin in Podunk and the people she meets on the way. Will Hallie leave behind her teaching job to pursue her passion to make music?
Very captivating read, reeled me in from beginning to end. Because I received an advanced copy I finished this way before the holidays but it certainly put me in the Holiday spirit. Run, don't walk to buy this book.
I really enjoyed this book. It was heartfelt and romantic. I love reading Christmas books all year because they can be uplifting. I especially love reading about romances in small towns. The ending was really good and better than I thought it would be. I'm grateful that netgalley and the publishers let me read this in exchange for an honest review.
I've come to expect nothing less than perfection from Debbie Macomber and in 'A Christmas Duet' I was not disappointed. This is a charming Christmas story about finding one's true calling and having the courage to follow the necessary path to happiness. There is a delightful cast of characters and the setting is wonderful. With joy this will be added to my Christmas reading shelf!

A Christmas Duet is an adorable new holiday novel by the inimitable Debbie Macomber.
In it, we find Hailey Morgan, the ultimate pleaser person. On the same day that her best friend offered Hailey the use of her family’s secluded cabin to relax, unwind, and work on her music, Hailey’s mother invited Hailey’s ex to spend Christmas with their entire family, against Hailey’s explicit wishes. Hailey decides that for the first time in her life, she is going to take a stand and take her bestie up on her offer. She is desperate to actually get to distress and write down the song that’s been stuck in her head for weeks. The avoidance of her mom and ex-boyfriend are just bonuses.
While in the cabin, Hailey wanders down to the nearest town and begins to meet the locals. She ends up getting to know another musician, who is also trying to decompress in the same little town, named Podunk, Oregon.
Is Hailey going to finally have life go her way? Will she be able to continue to stand up for what she wants and believes in? Or will she go back to trying to make everyone else happy at the expense of her goals and dreams?
Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group-Ballantine for this wonderful ARC!!
