This book was a DNF for me. I got to 30% and decided it was not for me. Hopefully it will be a good fit for someone else!

Caroline just graduated and wants a summer on the island before starting her corporate job. She meets Dune on a boat tour and there is instant attraction. He is a local known for flings with tourists. Can she change his ways?

First of all, the name Dune made me want to quit immediately. I hate it. Secondly, there isn't any chemistry. Or even tension in the book. It was all pretty flat.

Stephen Borne and Samantha Summers narrate the audiobook. No complaints about Caroline's chapters. I didn't care for the tone in Dune's chapters. And Stephen Borne had some mispronunciations. It wasn't terrible, it just wasn't great.

I received an advance audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

New England summer romance. New girl in town on on an extended holiday and handsome local boat captain. Alternating viewpoints between the lovers. Familiar tropes. Husky voiced narrators.

This is a super cute and fun summer vacation read! Caroline goes on vacation to the beautiful Seaport. The description Heidi put into this book makes me want to take a trip as soon as possible! I really enjoyed the witty banter between Caroline and Dune! I can't wait to read the rest of the series!

This little romance book started off a bit too cutesy with the female character's inner dialogue and then the name of the male character and his 3 brothers just made me give a tiny side eye. But once I got past those things, it was a fun summer romance. The kind all tourists hope for - catchy the eye of the hot local and having them fall in love with you and want to be a part of their glamourous lives on some island somewhere.
There were a couple of iffy moments when there was an extreme jumping to conclusion leading to harsh and nonsense decisions. Even if that was annoying, it didn't ruin the book for me.
I did notice that this is the first of a Seaport Series. The next installment is about someone who is only mentioned briefly, but I think that the setting will make for a really great series because all of the characters seemed likable.
I listened to this via audiobook and I wasn't too crazy about the narrators. The POV switched between each of the male and female characters, and there was a narrator for each. I did not like the male narrator, especially when he did female voices.

This book takes place in Seaport a New England small town during the Summer. Caroline takes a summer off before her big corporate demanding job in Seaport. There she meets notorious bad boy and heartbreaker, captain Dune. She knows his reputation but can't seem to stay away. Will he change his ways ? Will Caroline? An enjoyable light read.

I enjoyed the lighthearted feeling this book gave. The romance between Caroline and Dune was cute and started off so flirty and fun. I enjoyed this summer romance as it was fun and sweet. The small town vibes were great and well done.

Cute beachy read with plenty of spice. It had some of my favorite tropes and I enjoyed watching Dune and Caroline's romance come to life. Can't wait to read about the other brothers...hint, hint!

This sweet romance beach read is set in New England, which so many of these Summer reads are. I got to spend my first Summer vacation in New England this year, so I was able to visualize this book a little better, and understand why our MFC loves Seaport so much. Caroline graduates from Yale and decides she will spend her Summer vacation in Seaport, on her own, to figure out her life before being forced into a career she does not want. On her second day of being on the island she meets Dune, the handsome boat captain and owner of Blue Lobster Adventures. These two start in a whimsical Summer romance that turns into so much more. I love a sweet and steamy romance novel where there is not this insta love and each person knows what they are getting into. Dune and Caroline go into their fling with eyes wide open and attempt to keep their hearts closed and enjoy their 3 months together. I like how sweet Dune is and how open Caroline is. This book is overall just a very romance-heavy book, with some spice of course. My biggest con was when Bryant came in, I didn't like that storyline because it felt that it undermined the honesty that Dune had prior, and really shouldn't have been a surprise to Caroline, as Dune had already revealed he was a bit of a playboy before meeting her. Maybe they just needed to throw a wrench into the story so everything wasn't so easy. I also really like how the town was portrayed, it is its character and everyone seems to be really close. My favorite part of the audio is the fact that there were two narrators. I will always and forever give extra kudos to a book that gives each POV their voice and each of the narrators did a fantastic job of giving these two characters some more life. Overall, this is a sweet Summer beach read and is the beginning of a series set in the idyllic Summertown of Seaport.

This was just absolutely fantastic. I love everything Heidi and Kassidy brought to this book and I can't wait for more from them as a writing duo. The narrators were so well chosen and perfect for the story. Such an easy summer listen.

This was book 1 in the Seaport series. The cover of this book was what drew me in. I’m a sucker for a book with a beach setting. I liked the idea, Ivy League graduate taking some time in a beach town before joining the workforce and meets local boat tour captain whose family all lives and works in the town. Small town charm. The first 40ish% was ok for a cheesy romance and then it just went downhill for me. The characters fell flat. I couldn’t connect with any of them and the writing was cringy.

Enjoyed this book but was not quite as engrossing as I was expecting. Still worth a read though.

Preparing to start a new job in the fall, Caroline takes her dream vacation to the small beach town of Seaport. There she winds up with a job helping a handsom boat captain who goes through women like water.. Can she capture his heart? Story was simply developed and contrived.

Okay, this one was actually really really sad to me. The FMC is so sweet and really just trying to figure out her life and what she wants to do and they are all in on this big secret that will humiliate her. I love how they kept digging to find the truth about the town and worked to do what was best for them even if it wasn’t what was right for the show they were filming. There were plenty of funny moments with this clumsy FMC and the grumpy MMC, making for a sweet romance with a definitely feel good ending.

I have to say, this one didn’t quite hit the mark for me.

Caroline Taylor’s summer in Seaport and her romance with boat captain Dune Carter had all the ingredients for a perfect beach read, but the plot felt predictable, and the characters lacked depth. While the picturesque setting was lovely, the story didn’t hold my attention as much as I’d hoped.

If you’re looking for a light read with a charming setting, you might enjoy this, but it wasn’t my favorite.

This is a small town romance where Caroline comes to Seaport to spend the summer before she starts her job and she falls for local sea captain Dune.

I can;t pinpoint my dislike for the story. It was to insta love for me and Dune thoughts of Caroline from his pov to hers back to him was a 180. It just felt unrealistic the things he would do but i his mind be complaining about it and not wanting to do it. I dont see how this would ever work and the writing just wasn't for me and I could of done without the little drama there was the nicknames and the ending was just ....

This wasn't for me

The Lobster Trap is the perfect summer romance! The tropes, setting and overall themes in this book make you crave a seaside vacation.

Dune Dune Dune…what a man!

This love story is between Caroline a fresh Yale graduate and Dune the small town flirt and playboy! Caroline decides to spend her summer at Seaport after graduation before beginning real life. There she finds herself gravitating towards the Sea Captain and towns biggest flirt. After spending time together they find themselves falling for each other but of course with small towns come small town rumors/gossip that end up harming Caroline and Dune.

I liked the characters, especially Dune’s mom she was hilarious. The smut was SMUTTY, I lived for it! However, I am not a sucker for insta love romances, and this was definitely instalovey. Also Caroline believing a random over Dune really peeved me off but it’s understandable especially when it came to the story. Other than that it was such a fun light hearted read, and am so happy that Caroline and Dune found their happy ever after with a baby on the way!

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves small town summer romances, opposites attract, and accidental pregnancy tropes! Also anyone who has read anything by Devney Perry would enjoy this book as well.
