I'm allergic to cats so sadly a book like this is the closest I'll come to having one in my home. But this was absolutely adorable and I really love the style of the illustrations. Very cute!
I love the concept of this book, and the illustration style is fabulous. Overall, the book was a miss for me. It could have been more, further exploring cat and human relationships. I enjoyed it, but am less likely to widely recommend it since it was not quite what I was expecting. The illustrations were amazing, the concept was great, the delivery was just lacking the depth I wanted out of the book.
This is a purr-fect book for cat lovers who need a reminder of our blessings. And also that the cat wants to be fed. LOL.
Very cute, no plot--but uplifting. I enjoy seeing cats being cats and the art style for this was nice. Cozy coffee-table sort of book
This little book is absolutely adorable. As a cat lover, I can confirm Luis Coelho so perfectly encapsulates the life and various attitudes of a cat. It made me smile from page one, so mission accomplished!

The Book of Purrs: Everyday Thoughts from Your Feline Friends by Luís Coelho is a very short, "gift" type collection of quickly drawn pictures and bland statements for all the cat lovers out there, or at least some of them. I consider myself a fan of cats, but I didn't really get anything out of this. It wasn't really funny or meaningful to me. I guess I just wanted more.
This book was so adorable. The cats on each page were illustrated perfectly. Honestly I too "wish my life is full of pspspsps".
Extremely cute and heartwarming book full of cats and small quotes. Definitely one to pick up if you need a dose of cuteness or just to read in one sitting. The art is very charming.
This was so cute and so fun! I absolutely had a blast reading this and will definitely be gifting copies to friends.
The artwork here is just beautiful. I love Coelho's color choices and adorable renderings of our feline friends. But . . . after just a few pages, I felt that I was looking at a collection of greeting cards rather than comics. There's a very strong FEEL GOOD vibe to these cartoons - like you would buy this book for someone who's recovering from major surgery. I've known many cats, and I honestly think of them as more sassy than sweet.
However . . . if you're a cat fanatic, and need a bit of cheering up - THIS is definitely the book for YOU.
This book expired before I could download it and read it however it looked really cute and I am sure I would have enjoyed it.
This book is absolutely adorable! You can tell that Coelho loves and has lived with cats for a long time as their personalities are written all over the pages. I can't wait to read more books and see more illustrations by this author!
Coelho brilliantly captured cats! Yes, they love their hoomans. Yes, they are great mental therapy. And yes, they will bite you- because they deserve joy, too. A heartwarmer even dog lovers could appreciate.
Art style is super cute. And most of the content is short and sweet. I just wish it had more theming. (I did love the bite ones!) I will definitely recommend to my cat lover friends!
So cute! And hilarious. Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and the author for the free eARC in exchange for my honest opinions.
I had the pleasure of reading The Book of Purrs: Everyday Thoughts from Your Feline Friends by Luís Coelho, and it was an utterly delightful experience. As someone who shares their life with cats, I found the book to be a humorous and lighthearted reflection of their quirky personalities.
The book offers a series of amusing "thoughts" imagined from the perspective of a cat, covering everything from their insatiable curiosity to their perfectly timed naps.
3* - generally enjoyable, this book is what you expect it to be, and that is great, if you are in the mood for gentle amusement / prodding at existential dread / basic affirmations etc in the form of cat cartoons.
This book is amazing. It would be a great gift for any introspective or mindful cat lover in your life.
The illustrations are beautiful and the stand alone, page long comics are a great mix of cat-isms (never leaving their human's alone in the bathroom, unpredictable bites, and eternal hunger, to name a few), motivational insights from the perspective of cats, and reminders that the here and now is the only place we actually are...said, of course, how the cats might see it.
This book really is so clever. I want so may of these comics to be on shirts or greeting cards, but instead I'll share them all with my friends at once in the form of a book!
This was cute. As a Cat Lady, I always enjoy reading books that celebrate the silly little creatures we let into our home. This book captured the essence of cats well, but I would have enjoyed it more had there been different types of cats. As such, I wasn't sure if it was a gaggle of black cats or simply one or two cats as the main 'characters'. It also would have helped vary up the art a bit.
