If you’re a cat person you’ll probably love this book. I gave the book three stars for it was cute and had some nice quotes but that’s about it. I didn’t really have much fun reading this book since there wasn’t a lot to read.

This book is absolutely adorable! The illustrations are just the cutest thing; and the book itself is a mix of inspiration and lighthearted moments. Just chock full of love bites, bleps, and fuzzy kittens- what more could you want??
I was given a copy of this story to read; but thoughts and opinions are all my own. Thank you to Netgalley and for the chance to read this book!

Publishing date: 22.10.2024
Thank you to Netgalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for the ARC. My opinions are my own.
The book as a meal: Not a meal, just a cup of sweet tea
The book left me: Looking for my cats to give them pets
Negatives:
Felt a little self-helpy
Positives:
Would fit perfectly as a gift for a cat lover
Lots of cute art
Features:
Positive affirmations told by illustrated cats, O_O, OwO
Why did I choose this one?
I follow @purr.in.ink on instagram and felt a strong pull to grab this and see what it was all about (and maybe even some new panels I haven't seen before). There were new panels I haven't seen before, and this should be viewed as a "premium extension" or "expansion" of what you can find on their Instagram.
Pick-up-able? Put-down-able?
Devourable. I blasted through every panel of these positive kitties in an hour, maybe less.
What was the vibe and mood?
Positive vibes all around. These cats want you to feel good and happy. It was also funny like the panels on Instagram. Cat humor all around.
Final ranking and star rating?
4 stars, A tier. I enjoyed what this book set out to do. It gave me lots of positivity with its art and affirmations. It was sweet and funny as I expected. Would recommend it to a cat lover or a fan of @purr.in.ink's instagram page. Perfect to keep by your bed or on a coffee table.
Favorite panels:
Panel 16 - I think ...
Panel 31 - Thinking about how much I love you ...
Panel 34 - I feel everything very deeply ...

Netgalley Review
Star Rating: ★★★★☆
Not sure if this qualifies as a book since it has a higher picture to word ratio than a Graphic Novel, WebToon, Manga, etc.
Regardless, I'm glad I read it. I thought some of them were hilarious and some of them were just alright. Altogether though, it was fantastic!
Like always though, read it and decide for yourself

A fun collection of the authors comics — light, engaging and amusing examination of life in various ways. Recommended — especially if you follow the comics already, and/or like cats. If you have a cat, there’ll be extra humour to be found here as well.

The puns! The art! Everything about this book is precious. I can only recommend reading it. Especially if you're a cat person.

"By the power of the purr and the beauty of the fur good things will occur"
"You are beautiful and bitable
"If hope is low and mind is slow go pet a kitty to feel less shitty""
"May the purr be with you"
Well isn't this just the cutest little thing! Love all these little cat affirmations. Little kitty is right, I gotta love myself ♥
Super cute artwork and very funny. Such a wonderful reminder to be gentle with yourself and to take a moment to breathe every once in a while.

The Book Of Purrs is a delightful book that highlights the benefits of our furry friends. The book has a hint of self help, in the sense that it includes positive affirmations. It is heartfelt, and even contains some moments that will make you laugh out loud.
The illustrations are very well done! I loved the watercolor-esque style. The book even made me decide to check out the author's Instagram.

This was such a cute book about cats. I am a big cat fan and have two of my own and a lot of those drawings reminded me of them.
The drawings are all pretty similar but that what makes the book so adorable.
Highly recommend this to all cat lovers!

This was a cute book, filled with kitties, a desire to bite, and positive vibes to help you get through your day. I am the kitty, I step on titty was by far my favorite panel in this collection. My daughter's cat does this all the time!

This was a PURE delight. From the wise, heartwarming words to the absolutely adorable illustrations, there is nothing to NOT love about this book. I want one adorning my bookshelf!

This was a cute little book of affirmations and happiness featuring cats. I have been following this artist on instagram for a while so I was excited to get a copy of this book. I really enjoyed all the positive affirmations and it was a very uplifting book, especially on a crappy day.

This is a cute little coffee table/life quotes/motivational rhymes book. The biggest draw to this is the illustrations though a good portion of them are repetitive. However, you can tell that the illustrations were hand painted and some of the "quotes" are quite funny. If you have a black cat, you will see them (and their thoughts) through this book.

Up on Goodreads now, live on the blog on 21 October:
I follow @purr.in.ink on Instagram, his comics never fail to make me smile, so when I discovered there was a whole book of them (thanks Yvonne 😉), of course I had to check it out!
The Book of Purrs is an extension of the online comics, there are some you might recognise but there are brand-new comics included as well. For those who aren’t familiar with the artist: the drawings are rather simple but all the more effective for it. The cats are black, the backgrounds most often beautifully colourful in a style reminiscent of water colour paintings and pointillism. Some made me smile, some made me laugh out loud, some made me think (you know, I think I would really benefit from talking to myself like I do to cats), and one (about having to say goodbye to your beloved feline) even made me cry.
I think this is the perfect book for any cat lover! I read it cover to cover, but I think it might work best as a coffee table book or even a bedside table book, letting you charge up on positivity and a touch of feline energy before bed. I would definitely recommend it to cat loving readers or as a gift to the cat lover in your life.
The Book of Purrs is out on 22 (eBook) and 24 (hardcover) October.
Thanks to Andrews McMeel Publishing and NetGalley for the DRC. All opinions are my own.

This is a cute book with some sweet and sometimes humorous messages. However, I found the art to be a little too repetitive, and the text lacked substance. Also, it felt like the author was making the same jokes and statements over and over. This made it feel longer than its scant 90 pages.

Cute black cats who like to bite, watch their owners poop, and offer relatable and often inspirational thoughts. What's not to like? If you like the posts from purr.in.ink on Instagram, you will like this. If you aren't familiar with the Insta account but you like bitey black cats and could use some humor and encouragement, you'll like this too. The rhymes are peculiar and a bit clunky at times, and the tone can be a little earnestly mantra-ish for my taste, but there's lots of pages that made me giggle or want to share with my friends once this is published.
Grateful to get a sneak peek of #TheBookOfPurrs via digital ARC from Andrews McMeel and Netgalley.

Cuteness overload – Team Furry in action to cheer you up. I discovered the author's work on Instagram, and although I'm not a cat person, I like to cuddle the cute animals. Unless it bites me. It shows life situations, motivates and captures the positive side of everything.

thanks netgalley for sending me the e-arc of this amazing small book.
i always loved the drawings of this author so i took the opportunity to read his first book.
it wasn't a surprise i loved it so much. the drawing are so cute and as a cat lover i awed at every page, some of which were surprisingly deep.
will be for sure buying a physical copy

thank you NetGalley for sending me an eArc
well I love cats so this book was the cutest thing ever

I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. A wonderful book about the kitties in out lives and how they see us. There were several laugh out loud pages that I really enjoyed.
