I enjoyed reading this book. It is a very fun concept. I found the cover art quite intriguing and true to the essence of the main characters, cats.
Each page is filled with cuteness, inspiration, and potentially a good giggle. This book made me both laugh and tear up, but also remind me of why I’ve got my own little purr balls in my life. Luis really captures life with cats, but also provides uplifting messages for all aspects of life. A really cute read that I can’t wait to purchase and have in my home for when I need a good pick me up!

"The Book of Purrs" is such a sweet book. Once you finish it, it leaves you with a warm feeling in your chest.
The book is a compilation of comics, some of them have a punch line, other are advices to be kind to yourself, others are adorable fuzzy cats. It's a lovely reading experience. It's been a long time since a book make me feel so happy.
The art is incredible, the characters are suer cute and the color palete give a dream like vibe that is incredible.
I'm really glad I picked this book. It's the perfect balance between fun and motivational quotes.

The style reminds me of the oatmeal and bored panda comics but happier messages. Super cute.a little bit repetitive in the overall collection of comics.

Thanks to #NetGalley for the ARC ebook.
Cute, weird, funny, just like cats. There were some repeat drawings and similar sayings throughout, so I docked a star. I didn't expect the last 2 to be so sad either. :(
"If hope is low and mind is slow, go pet kitty to feel less shitty." Truer words have never been said.
With thanks to the author Luis Coelho and the publishers for allowing me to review this great book
As an owner of a black cat (named Nietzsche) I jumped at the change to read and review this book.
The Book of Purrs did not disappointed, The book of Purrs is a super cute and funny, each little comic will have you laughing out loud. With my favourite being 'You give me home, you give me meal, I give you purr to heal and my poo to clean being my all time favourite
I will be buying this book as soon as it is published, I will also be buying it for friends and family,
A cute collection of illustrations and comic strips paired with affirming thoughts and silly jokes. The art is very cool to look at - I love how much texture Luis Coelho adds despite his artwork being so stylised. While the inspirational quotes aren't terribly sophisticated, they are made ten tiemes better by being paired with cute kittens, and I have to admit that the jokes did get some chuckles out of me.
If you have a pet (especially a cat) it's nearly impossible you won't appreciate this book. Every comics is cute, sometimes sarcastic and always adorable. I appreciated its simple style and the brief messages behind each comic.
I could not stop smiling any time I opened this book. It is adorable. It is encouraging. It is funny. It is purr-fect (I couldn't help myself). I will absolutely come back to this again and again when I need a mood boost. The visuals a wonderful and the sentiments are amazing. I think this will also be my go-to as a gift for a while.
Cat lovers beware: you will fall in love with this novel. The cats are cute and fluffy. The sentiment is full of a love of cats and a love of life. This was a purrrrrfeft way to spend an hour. Super short, but super adorable.
For people who like: cats
In five words: comics - cats - affirmations - repetitiveness - bites
Positive points: The pointillist colour scheme of Portuguese illustrator Luis Coelho is beautiful and deserves a mention.
Some of the affirmations are spot on and worth framing.
Negative points: The way the cats are pictured becomes a bit creepy (big eyes at the end of almost each comic, little devils, ...). Furthermore it seems as if every cat doesn't do anything else than bite. Which is not only quite unrealistic but annoying as well. For me this unrelatedness and the extreme repetitiveness form the death blow of this book.

Ahoy there mateys! I wanted to read this book based on the cute cover and name. I was not familiar with the artist before getting this. While some of the comics were cute, ultimately this book was not for me because of personal taste. I did not like majority of the comics. I wish I would have looked at his work online before requesting this. I do believe other people will love this though.
Similar to Strange Planet, The Book of Purrs is a collection of comic panels with the intention of making you smile, which it does beautifully.
Sometimes the lines will rhyme and sometimes it's just two kitties talking about their hooman. Very cute and a very cute idea form anyone loving and maybe owning cats.
I think the introduction was helpful to set the ambiance of this book. I imagine that most people would experience this book by opening a random page, and reading a few comics before setting it down.
I'm not familiar with this artist's work online, but I enjoyed many of these pages. They were delightful! I would consider this book for my coffee table.
Thanks for the early copy!
This was cute book with lots of beautiful art. It depicts the realities of living with a feline very well. One of my favorites was what they think of wireless tech and biting on cables. I enjoyed the humor and the artwork. Flipping through this had a relaxing effect on me. Many panels made me laugh.
Thank you to the publisher for providing me a review copy of this coffee table book vis Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
I think this book is so so cutie!! My favorite aspect to this cutie little book is the cat's eyes. They hold not only immense expression but also the eyes fit perfectly with every single mantra. I think this book is an absolutely perfect gift for anyone who is an extreme cat lover. What caught my eye originally was to show my mom this cute book because she loves little books likes these (plus she loves cats). This book would most likely brighten up anyone's day!
Thank you Luis Coelho, NetGalley, and Andrews McMeel Publishing for an early copy of this cute little cat book that brightened my day!! All opinions are my own.
Sarcastically affirming, this book a breath of fresh air for any sad cat obsessed person, like me!. I appreciate the blend of daily affirmation and cat humour. The illustrations are adorable!
First off I grabbed this book because I was looking for something to pull me out of a slumber. Needed something to put a smile on my face, as it’s been really hard to do lately. Something that I could just pick up and it would quickly deliver.. Let me tell you, it absolutely did. As a lover of cats I knew it wouldn’t fail me.
I absolutely loved this book. I found myself smiling and even laughing out loud to these wonderful illustrations. They were such a joy to go through. At times I also found myself a little melancholy thinking of my cat who recently passed on and who was depicted so much in many of these comics, but it quickly reminded me of his wonderful and funny antics and the laughter resumed.
Any cat lover will love this book. But more importantly it's a dose of medicine for anyone feeling down. We all go through it, and we all need a little reminder that its going g to be ok.
There’s not much to say about this one. I got it because the cover was cute. It’s full of funny positive messages as one might expect from a cat/cats with adorable images.
It’s the kind of book that would make a great gift, or even just flip through to a random page for a sweet (yet adorable menacing) message.
