These were cute. The sarcasm was well-received--I speak and understand it fluently. I found myself laughing frequently and, equally as frequently, identifying with the sentiments in the cartoons. I would hasten to add, that these are not cartoons for children, but for adults. Or, for people like me, who have been cleverly faking being an adult for decades.

Hope it all works out is the collection from the Poorly Drawn Lines comics of New York bestseller Reza Farazmand.

A collection of silly, sarcastic, and misguided optimism of its characters, Mouse, Bird, Turtle, and Snail.

My favorite has been Mouse, who is ready to fight anyone who challenges his emotional fragility. Underneath the anger and sarcasm is a sweet dose of warmth and naivete.

I was not familar with this comic or its popular webcomic and animated Hulu series before reading this, but I am a fan now.
I enjoyed this collection immensely and recommend it to all who like their comics with a little salt and sugar.

The collection will be released September 24, 2024

Thanks to @netgalley and Andrew McMeet Publishing for giving me the opportunity to read this eArc in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion.

Even if you're not familar with Reza Farazmand's name, you've probably seen his webcomic, Poorly Drawn Lines, floating around the internet. Hope It All Works Out has a similarly dry sense of humor. Farazmand's "poorly drawn" world is full of anxious, existential characters navigating life in all its weirdness. Rather than laughing out loud, these comics will make you nod in agreement or shake your head in amusement. It wasn't clear to me why some comics were titled and others weren't. This may have been done to distinguish multi-page comics from shorter ones, but I'm not sure.

This is an oddly amusing comic book featuring Mouse, Bird, Turtle and Snail. It's philosophical, witty, smart, pensive and peculiar too. There are different cartoon animals portrayed saying what they're thinking if they could talk - but it also pokes fun at things humans often say. It is strangely funny and entertaining, but other times, it's just weird. The drawings are simple, but cute. Apparently, the book is also tied to a series on Hulu called Poorly Drawn Lines - I will have to check it out. Although I didn't always understand the point, I found it a quick and enjoyable read. Thank you to NetGalley and Andrews McMeet Publishing for the digital ARC.

I did not finish this book.

I think the illustrations were great, but it really wasn't for me. I didn't think it was very funny or humorous.

I’ve seen these all over the internet and it was a fun time reading them all together. Very modern sense of humor.

If you are a fan of humorous cartoons that tell it like it is, you will love "Hope It All Works Out!" I have been a follower of Reza Farazmand's works on social media for a long time and this book has many I recognized, but some new to me works as well. I work with college-aged students and think this book would be a big hit for a college-aged student or early career employee. I found myself laughing out loud at some of the characters that I resonate with on a deeper personal level.

Entertaining little animal comics! I'm familiar with this series from following them online and some of them are certainly funnier than others.

Hope It All Works Out!: A Poorly Drawn Lines Collection by Reza Farazmand was a disappointment of a comics collection for me, all about some animal friends (mostly mouse, turtle, bird, and snail) pondering and dealing with life. I gave up reading at fifty percent. The drawings were fine, but I didn't find many of the panels funny or even entertaining. It kind of read like one of the boring adult comics in the Sunday paper. There were maybe two panels that I liked in the first half; I just didn't get it, I guess. Do not recommend.

Such a feel good comic book with decently funny and relatable moments.
The artwork is simple, but that just adds to the beauty of it. There is no need to over-complicate things, and this book reminds you of that.
Some of the comics start to feel a little samesy after a while if you're reading this book in one go, so maybe break the reading up a bit to retain the charm :)

Funny! What else is there to say? The jokes are fun and the characters grow on you - I always had a smile on while reading this book..

I'm looking for love - or some good food!

This was HILARIOUS

Hope it all works out like the authors other books is filled with funny comic strips drawn in a simplistic ar.t style which weirdly enough, only serves the delivery of the jokes even more :)

This sparked my interest into looking to the rest of the authors comics all of which are equally hilarious making it a perfect book for a bad day when you feel the need to laugh at something light-hearted and silly!

I loved this comic, the artwork is simple but adorable and I love all of the characters. Mouse is my favorite. This book really made me laugh and smile.

I follow this artist on Insta and was so excited to see he had this booking coming out. I am here to tell you, it is absolutely fantastic!! Some I have seen online [didn't matter, I still laughed/loved them], and many were new to me [more laughter and surprisingly, some deep thoughts about what was on the page], and honestly, this book just made me love Mouse, Bird, Turtle, and Snail [and their absurdity and hilariousness] even more than I already did and was just what I needed in my crazy life.

I highly recommend this to everyone!

Very well done.

Had no idea this was a hulu show until after I read it but it makes so much sense! This was so so fun!! I'm a sucker for funny cartoon animal drawings I see on socials, so a book full of them was a SLAY! Going to check out the show!

Also not pulling the Augustus Waters metaphor with Bird and his unlit cigarette!!

I wanted to like this book more but honestly it was just kind of blah. It is at times sarcastic and relatable to the current state of life as an adult, but I feel like the vibe of the whole book is just too low. The comics themselves would probably, and probably have done well in online posting form, however combined together as a book it just seems like to much "meh" all together without any sort of uplifting interlude.
Also, something about the random inclusion of the black bird having a cigarette in their mouth kind of threw me off. There seemed no rhyme or reason to it.

My partner and I are always sending the poorly drawn lines comics to each other. I love that there is this collection now as well for people to enjoy. These comics are so hilarious and relatable for all the burnt out millennials out there, and I will never tire of them. Definitely recommend checking this one out, especially on a tough day!

This was a new kind of genre for me, and I really enjoyed it. In my world where everything is so serious and straightforward it was so fun to unwind and laugh with this book of the comic “Poorly Drawn Lines”. It was the unique humor that I love and enjoy. If you need a book to just forget the world and laugh this is it. My type of humor for sure. I think you will enjoy it as much as I did!

I don't follow much on Instagram, but I follow Poorly Drawn Lines. I love these cartoons, and unsurprisingly loved this book. No notes.
