Good short book. Interesting take on magical realism which includes a little time travel. Being told from the point of view of the only white kid in a Native American school gives an interesting look at these types of schools too, as you can see clearly how the priests treat Johnny as opposed to the Native students, and yet also how horrible a life it was even for him.

A well-written and enjoyable book, I am glad I requested this title and will be more than happy to pass the title along to my fellow library purchasers.
