Historian author Martin Dugard takes a break form the interminable "Killing" series he co-authors with Bill O'Reilly and again takes on the subject of great explorers. In this volume he examines the character traits of explorers by focusing on the Burton/Speke exploration of the Nile. The book is enjoyable if less than convincing. He seems to have a personal dislike of Burton that colors the writing.
