I read this book around Christmastime and then I read it again after Christmas and loved it both times. Laurie Gilmore always enchants me with her books and I loved her others as much as this one. This book is filled with charm, Christmas spirit and of course great characters and a wonderful setting. This is my kind of read at any time of year.

If you want a book that has small town romance, a grumpy, Christmas hating character and those all important cosy vibes than this is the book for you. I loved the warm and fuzzy feeling and found it most enjoyable, entertaining and fun. This is a great series and I will certainly be looking forward to seeing what comes next and will be waiting in anticipation.

Thank you NetGalley and HarperCollins UK, One More Chapter for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.

3.5 stars.
A fun and enjoyable installment in the Dream Harbor series! I listened to the audiobook, and the performance was great.

Kira and Bennett are both newcomers to Dream Harbor—Kira has just purchased the Christmas Tree Farm, while Bennett is visiting his sister Jeanie (from The Pumpkin Spice Café). This is a grumpy x sunshine romance with a twist: Kira is the grump, while Bennett is the sunshine. He just wants to help, but Kira is determined to prove she can handle everything on her own. When they get stuck together in Kira's house when a snowstorm hits, sparks fly - but with Bennett only in town for the holidays, it can only be a seasonal fling… or can it?

I really enjoyed Kira’s character development, especially as she gradually became more involved in the community. I would have loved a bit more focus on the Christmas Tree Farm, but since this is a romance, the story centered on the relationship and delivered some very spicy moments!

Overall, this was a lighthearted, easy listen—perfect for some festive, feel-good entertainment.

Cozy holiday read, but nothing that hasn’t already been done before. It was okay, I just didn’t connect to any of the characters unfortunately I was a little bored.

The Christmas Tree Farm - Laurie Gilmore

(Yes, I know it’s a very late review, I thought I had posted it already but hadn’t!🤦🏻‍♀️)

We are back in the idyllic small town of Dream Harbour and this time round we are following Kira’s story.
Kira North has just bought the loveliest Christmas tree farm, which is quite ironic as she hates Christmas. But when seeing this quaint cottage and all that land for a steal of a price she just couldn’t resist! The locals are really happy that someone has taken over the farm and are excitedly waiting to go and pick out their Christmas trees as usual. Unfortunately for them Kira has absolutely zero plans of reopening the farm, she wants to enjoy the peace and quiet on her own.
When she moves in however she realises just how much work needs to be done to the cottage to make it properly liveable. It’s freezing in the house, droughts everywhere and no heating means Kira has to set up a makeshift fort camp in her living room to sleep with as many blankets as she can find.
It soon dawns on her that as much as she doesn’t like Christmas or the idea of people trampling all over her land, she’s going to have to open the farm up just so she doesn’t turn into a human ice block.

Bennett is visiting his sister in her cutesy town and definitely isn’t interested in helping Kira, not after running into her (literally) and her grumpiness scaring him off. He soon realises though that Kira is putting up defences, not wanting to let anyone get close.
But when they get snowed in together will they both change their minds?

I loved Gilmore’s 2 previous books, The Pumpkin Spice Cafe & The Cinnamon Bun Bookstore so I was pretty confident I’d enjoy this festive story just as much as… and I did!
Grumpy Kira and optimistic Ben were a delight to read and I thoroughly enjoyed this visit to Dream Harbour again.

Now I can’t wait for the next books! These are such wonderfully sweet and cosy books.
Oh, and there’s quite a bit of spice too!

This was a great edition to the Dream Harbor series. Bennett was my favorite character, he was so wholesome and you could really tell how much he loved Kira. Kira was pretty frustrating, but seeing her growth was satisfying. And of course, the good old small town vibe- complete with nosy neighbors- was perfect.

The Christmas Tree Farm by Laurie Gilmore is a sweet, nostalgic story that captures the essence of the holiday season. Set on a family-run Christmas tree farm, the book follows the journey of the farm’s owners as they prepare for the busy season of selling trees, while also weaving in personal moments that highlight the importance of tradition, family, and community.

Gilmore’s writing is warm and approachable, making it a perfect read for children and families. The story flows smoothly and offers a glimpse into the hard work involved in running a Christmas tree farm, all while emphasizing the magic and joy of Christmas. The illustrations are charming and help bring the cozy, festive atmosphere to life.

The book is not only a celebration of the season but also a reflection on the values of hard work, love, and togetherness. It’s a delightful read to share with kids and a wonderful way to get into the holiday spirit!

I picked this one up straight after reading The Cinnamon bun bookstore in a power cut and becoming invested in the characters of Dream Harbour. This book was a real comfort read and I loved getting to know Kira and Bennett. I loved the Christmas tree farm aspect even though it was a January read and didn’t feel overly Christmassy. The characters probably took a little bit of time to get to know each other and was a little bit slow burn but when the chemistry hit it hit 🔥 I believed in them as a couple and whilst it wasn’t my favourite in the series I still really enjoyed it. It was also lovely to get to dip back into the other characters again too.
I’m looking forward to book 4 now. I would definitely recommend this series.

Description:
Kira North hates Christmas. Which is unfortunate since she just bought a Christmas tree farm in a town that’s too cute for its own good.

Bennett Ellis is on vacation in Dream Harbor trying to take a break from both his life and his constant desire to fix things.

Somehow fate finds Ben trapped by a blanket of snow at Kira’s farm, and, despite her Grinchiest first impressions, with the glow of the fairy lights twinkling in the trees, and the promise of a warming hot chocolate, maybe, just maybe, these two lost souls will have a Christmas they’ll remember forever…

Review:
Bennett Ellis is in Dream Harbor visiting his sister, Jeanie, who runs The Pumpkin Spice Café. After accidentally running into the new owner of the local Christmas tree farm, Bennett gets roped into, by the town and his sister, into trying to get the new owner to open up the farm and sell the trees. After not much persuading from Bennett, Kira realizes that if she is ever going to fix up the farmhouse, which is falling apart, she is going to have to do that and more.
After not enjoying the second book in this series, I was very happy that this was a perfect cozy atmospheric romance for the holiday season that hit all the right notes.

The Christmas Tree Farm is the third book in the Dream Harbor series.

Normally by the third instalment of a series like this, many authors are just eeking out the story for the sake of it and in all honesty, I went into this book with that in the back of my mind. However, it didn’t feel that way at all. The way Gilmore is navigating this series is wonderful. I can’t wait for the rest!!
