The Christmas Tree Farm is a cute, cozy romance about a woman named Kira who buys a Christmas tree farm even though she hates Christmas. It is a grumpy x sunshine with Kira being the grumpy one, and Bennett, the male lead, as sunshine. I love that the book has cameos from previous characters in the Dream Harbor series. I enjoyed seeing Kira gradually make a home for herself in Dream Harbor, make friends, and fall in love with Bennett. I would recommend this book to anyone who has read the other books in the Dream Harbor series, or fans of cute, cozy romance in general!
My thanks to NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read the ARC of Laurie Gilmore's 'The Christmas Tree Farm.'
Fans of Laurie Gilmore's Dream Harbour series will not be disappointed with this latest story. Very few books make me laugh out loud and few still leave me with a big grin on my face. This series is infectiously happy and fun to read.
Looking to take control of her life and influenced by the Cottage core/homestead aesthetic, Kira North buys a farm house and land, sight unseen. Unfortunately for her the house needs a lot of work. More unfortunate is the fact that Kira hates Christmas, and the land that comes with the house is covered in Christmas trees. Having spent all her money on the property, Kira needs to make a go of running the Christmas tree farm but she is stubborn and doesn't want any help even though she desperately needs it.
Along comes the impossible handsome Bennett Ellis, a guy who just can't help but try and fix things. After what can only be described as a frosty start, Kira and Ben find themselves drawn together but their path to happiness is blocked by a series of personal struggles that threaten to ruin their Christmas.
The 3rd instalment in the Dream Harbor series and this time it’s a Christmas one! Bennett Ellis is visiting his sister Jeanie (star of book 1, The Pumpkin Spice Cafe) when he meets new owner of the local Christmas Tree farm, Kira North. She’s decided to reinvent herself after her twin has married and left the country, but hailing from old money in Georgia, she’s no idea how to run a farm or cope with the cold weather. The locals are convinced there’s either treasure or a body buried on the farm and send Bennett, as a neutral party, to hunt around for clues. Predictably he bumps into the new grumpy owner and sparks fly.
It’s billed as a hallmark Christmas movie of a book with plenty of spice and it certainly delivers! The characters are loveable, and the ones from the previous 2 books feature repeatedly throughout, and it’s nice to see how they’re still getting on. I’ll look forward to book 4 next year!
Thanks to NetGalley and One More Chapter/Harper Collins for a free ARC in return for an honest review. 4.25/5
This was a fabulous book full of steamy romance, grumpy men and a lovely town filled with brilliant shops and cafes. This is the third book in this series and it didn’t disappoint, there is nothing to not love. Kira and Bennett are amazing characters that will make you read in one sitting. Set in a small village Kira buys an old Christmas shop and house, she misses her twin sister who was the doer of the duo, but Kira is managing by herself. Highly recommend this five star read.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for a copy.
The Christmas Tree Farm is the third book in the Dream Harbor series. Although I hadn’t read the first two novels, but this can be read as a standalone.
After her twin moves to Denmark, Kira decides to escape the family home and buys a Christmas Tree farm. She knows nothing about farming and plans to live a quiet life although the local residents soon change that as they welcome her into their community. This is a pleasant enough story but I can’t say it really grabbed me but it is a cosy festive read. Thank you to NetGalley, Harper Collins UK, One More Chapter and the author for the chance to review.
This series just keeps getting better and better! It has all the cosy vibes of a Christmas romance that makes a light-hearted perfect read!!
I loved Kira and Bennet's story. It was cozy of course, funny and the chemistry between them was palpable. I liked Kira's character and how she owned her bad traits. I like how she called herself out and was ready to improve! Bennett is perfect and dreamy and everything I think we all want in a man.
Both Kira and Ben have baggage that they need to deal with from Ben’s failed relationships where his kind and good nature is taken advantage of and Kira’s need for independence away from her family and her twin.
The setting of the Christmas Tree Farm was fun and the festival creates the perfect atmosphere for these characters to fall in love . This book has all the elements of a Christmas romance wrapped in a bow!!
This series is the perfect comfort read for me, I read this book within a day wrapped up in a blanket with some hot chocolate! I highly recommend reading this book it is fun, cute and you just get lost in Dream Harbor!
I swear this series just keeps getting better and better. This book was based in winter and followed main characters Kira and Bennet.
Kira has just moved to town after buying the Christmas tree farm on a whim and is instant on doing things herself so overall seems a bit standoffish at first to her new community
Bennet is in town for the holidays visiting his sister Jeanie after realising he loves the town and doesn’t want to spend the holidays alone.
Kira and Bennet first bump into each other when Bennet is walking his dogs on the farm. Kira is besotted with the dogs but she’s really not so keen on Bennet.
Some of the main tropes in this book was; grumpy X sunshine, forced proximity, one bed, cosy settings, animal lovers, small town, he falls first, new starts.
The spice in this book was top tier, this series gets spicier as it goes along! I don’t know about you but it just seems a lot spicier when it’s cold outside and they need to get warm.
Overall this book was super heartwarming. The cosy setting, the spice and the banter made the whole story perfection to me. Literally, the heart warming coziness and spice in this book will melt the snow from your boots. I really don’t want this world to end so I cannot wait for the next instalment in this series.
The lies we tell ourselves are often stronger than the truth. They worm their way into our hearts and our minds until they are all we see, all we believe.
So far this is my favorite book in this series, I loved Kira and Bennet's story. It was cozy of course, funny and the chemistry between them was palpable. I liked Kira's character and how she owned her bad traits. I like how she called herself out and was ready to improve...I felt that wholeheartedly.
The spice was perfection. Not too much but perfectly balanced with the rest of the book. I loved the character development of the two MCs, especially Bennet's. Of course the ending is a HEA but the story to get there was really quite beautiful yet not so beautiful at times.
This would make the perfect cozy Christmas romance read...with a little heat to keep you warm.
Thank you to Netgalley, HarperCollins UK, One More Chapter an Laurie Gilmore for my eARC of this book. All opinions are 100% my own and I am leaving my review voluntarily.
This is the story of Kira who hates Christmas and bought a CHristmas Tree Farm in Dream Harbor and Ben has come back to Dream Harbor to spend Christmas with his sister. Kira's twin sister Chloe moved to Denmark with her fiancee . Kira decides to do something she considers responsible. Ben is walking his dogs at the Christmas Tree Farm and meets Kira, who he thinks is a grump. He helps her out because that's the kind of person he is. He starts helping her get the farm ready for opening. . Tells her she needs to go to the town Christmas Tree lighting and to make an announcement that they tree farm will be opening. This is one romance you won't want to miss and see how Kira fits in the community. A VERY GOOD READ.
The Christmas Tree Farm by L. Gilmore is book 3 in the Dream Harbor Series.
Kira is a grinch. A grinch who owns a christmas tree farm in a cute little town full of annoyingly nice citicens.
Bennett is visiting his sister when he and his 3 dogs stumble over grinch Kira.
A sweet, sometimes cheesy rom/com that I enjoyed reading.
Blurb: Kira North hates Christmas. Which is unfortunate since she just bought a Christmas tree farm in a town that’s too cute for its own good.
Bennett Ellis is on vacation in Dream Harbor taking a break from his life in California. And most importantly, taking a break from his latest run of disastrous dates.
After a run in with Kira in her fields, Ben has no intention of offering to help the grumpy owner set up her tree farm, despite the fact she’s clearly got no idea what she’s doing.
Kira knows she should stop being so stubborn, but her farm is not all cute and cozy like people always show on social media, it’s borderline dangerous with no heating, and she’d rather no one saw it.
But somehow fate finds Ben at Kira’s farm once more, and as Kira watches him swing an ax at the first tree, she finds herself appreciating his strength and questioning why she refused help in the first place..
Alright, Laurie Gilmore, I love you. And I love Dream Harbor. This was my favorite in the series so far, Bennett is perfect and dreamy and everything I want in a man. While I don't particularly relate to Kira in many ways, (other than her love of dogs, and animals in general) I love how real she feels. Like a real person with real insecurities and personal issues.
I never want to leave Dream Harbor, please take me back there as soon as possible, I cannot wait for the next book.
Christmas, romance, Spice and every trope you love. It's sweet, it's hot, it's surprising and refreshing. It's nice and simple.
I love the characters. I love the idea of the tree farm.
I just would have hope it was a bit more deep and detailed.
Wow, guys! Each and every single one of these books just gets better. Dream Habour is a place in which there lives a set of deeply rich characters that we get to read and learn about. This time, the book is centred on Kira and Bennett, and don't worry, we still get to see some of the old favourites like Jeanie and Logan, Noah, and Hazel etc.
This book has it all,it is so perfect for the lead up to the festive period, with twinkling lights, pine trees, lots of snow, and of course some romance.
I really enjoyed getting to know the characters and their relatable flaws, reading about learning to trust themselves more than each other. It was just so heartwarming and wonderful.
I can't wait for book 4 in the series.
An adorable sweet Christmas filled book which I really enjoyed. I adored the characters and was rooting for them from the start.
I loved the setting it was so beautiful
Loved getting to catch up with other characters
This one may be favourite out the 3
Love the cover too it’s so sweet
A beautiful sweet romance lovely characters a beautiful setting perfect for Christmas
In “the Christmas tree farm” we follow Kira as she decides to venture in a new chapter of her life by buying a tree farm. Due to Christmas coming around Bennet decides to visit his sister and randomly stumbles upon Kira. While Kira tries her best to be independent and Ben tries to battle his urge to save and help everyone, these two might just be perfect for each other.
I absolutely loved the latest instalment of the Dream Harbour series! Kira and Ben's journey was absolutely captivating, and returning to the enchanting town alongside the other wonderful characters was a true pleasure. While I adored the story, I did find Kira's character as the protagonist a bit challenging at times, particularly with a certain choice she made in the third act. Nonetheless, I couldn't help but empathize with her, and I truly appreciated the depth of her character. This is such an easy and quick read one that you could curl up in front of the fire in, On the other hand, Ben's character was exceptionally well-crafted, and I found his "acts of service" nature to be truly endearing. The Christmas ambiance was beautifully portrayed, adding to the charm of the book. Needless to say, I am eagerly anticipating the next book in the series! I also can't go without mentioning the utterly delightful dogs in the story, especially Elizabeth. A heartfelt thank you to NetGalley and One More Chapter for the opportunity to read this wonderful e-arc!

Loved this book, especially the struggle having a sister overseas. I miss mine just as much as Kira misses hers and have the same time difference challenges that my sis messes up. The story was engaging and I love being able to learn a bit more of the cast of characters from the earlier books in this series. I'm looking forward to the future stories from Dream Harbor.
This book made me feel like I had just stepped into a cozy, snow-filled Hallmark movie, and I didn’t want to leave. I was grinning and kicking my feet the whole time! It's the perfect small-town romance with a grumpy x sunshine dynamic, and the slow-burn tension had me hooked from start to finish.
The Christmas Tree Farm is the third book in the Dream Harbor series, which I’d describe as an interconnected standalone series. There are references to past events and characters from previous books, but you can easily jump in without reading the earlier ones.
This story centers around Kira, the new owner of the town’s old Christmas tree farm, and Bennett, Jeanie's brother, who’s only visiting Dream Harbor for the holidays. Kira’s on a mission to reinvent herself and prove she can be independent, so she buys the farm sight unseen with her inheritance. The catch? The place is falling apart, with little heat, and she has no idea how to run a farm beyond what she’s picked up from social media. Kira’s determination to do things on her own makes her a bit of a grinch, shutting herself off from the friendly townspeople—until she has a run-in with Bennett, who’s out walking his dogs on her newly purchased property.
Bennett is in town for the holidays, mostly to please his sister and get a break from California. While wandering with his dogs, he stumbles onto the abandoned Christmas tree farm and its prickly new owner, Kira. Despite their rocky first meeting, Bennett keeps finding reasons to stop by, gradually melting Kira’s icy exterior and bringing warmth into her life.
This was such a sweet, feel-good story, and I enjoyed every minute of it. I’m already excited for the next book in the series!
Thank you to NetGalley and Harper360 for providing the eARC in exchange for my honest review.
We're on the third slice of life from Dream Harbour now, and if you've read the two previous books this will not disappoint, giving you all the cosy small-town vibes as the Pumpkin Spice Cafe and the Cinnamon Bun Bookstore. But I'd say this is also a great jumping-on point or standalone for anyone who particularly likes Christmassy stories! The main characters are both relatively new or secondary to previous books: Bennett is the brother of Jeanie, the owner of the cafe, and Kira had a very brief introduction in Bookstore, and anything you need to know about them (or those around them) you get in this book.
The main tropes here are black cat FMC / golden retriever MMC, and the author does a great job of not just using those archetypes as a vague label but really delving into why these characters lean in to those characteristics, with Kira's determination to be self-sufficient causing her to put up all sorts of barriers, and Bennett's innate people-pleasing something he's become really self-conscious about and a habit he's trying to quit. Being a Christmas story, there's all the hallmarks of, well, a Hallmark seasonal film, too, with ice skating and broken heaters and Grinchy tendancies that thaw as the pair relax into each other's company. I feel the confines of the 'Christmas story' make this perhaps a teeny bit more predictable than the other two books, but fully acknowledge that that's as much a feature as it is a bug. And it was a really satisfying, feel-good read that I'll absolutely be recommending to anyone looking for the sort of hug-in-book-form you want as the nights close in!
I reviewed the first book in this series, The Pumpkin Spice Cafe, last year, and this book was much the same. It is exactly what it claims to be: a Hallmark style romance novel, but with spice. The stories are predictable, but in a good way. It is a perfect fluffy romance book, and a great cozy read for the holidays.

Another Dream Harbour book that absolutely nailed it. I loved Kira and Ben’s story and I loved being back in our magical little town with all the other characters. Kira as a Mc was slightly annoying especially with the 3rd act decision, the way she saw herself was way too harsh to be fair, I thought her backstory was going to be super tragic. Ben was written for the acts of service girls and I loved every page he was in. The Christmas air was on point in this and I absolutely need the next book immediately. Also the dogs were the cutest, especially Elizabeth. Thank you NetGalley and One More Chapter for an e-arc copy of this.
