Thank you for the ARC. The title of this book is what attracted me to it immediately. I loved the short chapters.
I loved the references to the movie Home Alone, Covid, Facebook/x, etc. Made the book feel relevant and current. Also liked the reference to autism as that’s becoming more familiarized in today’s society. The ending did feel a tad rushed but overall it was a quick and engaging read. I definitely felt for the women.

An excellent read for any and all readers! Author comes at you with both barrels and knocks you out of your shoes! Great job fleshing out all the characters. I give this book FIVE stars! Definitely recommend!

Whilst I was intrigued by the title and premise, I just found the narrative overly long and, in places, overly simplified and unengaging.

Technically a 4.9. Because of the ending feeling so rushed (though that’s partially me wanting more!) I really enjoyed this book. The ultimate “good for her” thriller, I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. The characters are well developed and I found myself invested in all their lives very early on. Looking forward to the rest of the series, I hope to see more growth for our main girls, but also I can’t wait to see what happens next!

A story about domestic violence survivors meeting at a support group and finding a solution to their problems. It was a decent read, let down by one loose end that was left hanging.

I really enjoyed this book, but I think the writing could have been a lot better. There were errors and it felt like an inexperienced writer was doing the writing. I did really like the idea of the book and the storyline, but the writing itself needs a look at!!
Thank you to NetGalley, to the author, and to the publisher for this complimentary ARC in exchange for my honest review!!!

I enjoyed reading it. The prose was good enough. The story was told from a few points of view and also switched fro first to third person which at first seemed unnecessarily elaborate and then turned out to be a clever way to have the story spool in N unexpected direction. Here is my issue. This may be a genre caper not to be taken entirely seriously but the morality of the story troubles me. The first murder feels justified in an ‘eye for an eye’ sort of way. Increasingly though the subsequent murders in the story feel unjustified because and cruel in ways that are disproportional. It bothered me. Someone needs to be very very bad to deserve being tortured to death. I wasn’t there for it. If a plot centers on a woman avenging herself by killing her romantic partner that partner needs to be much worse than these guys imo. Take the film REVENGE directed by Coralie Fargeat. The heroine is raped and then thrown of a cliff and left for dead. Then these men realize she isn’t quite dead yet and hunt her down with high powered rifles. So yeah I’m there for it when she kills them first. This novel didn’t prove the case.

When Jess Pendle agrees to attend a support group to meet other women who have lived similar experiences, she doesn’t expect much.
The group has been set up for like-minded women to come together to help and protect one another.
I really like the main character, Jess. I like that she left the first time she was abused and calls the cops on her ex whenever he harasses her. I like that she’s strong throughout her entire situation.
This book is full of quick, short easy to read chapters with different POVs. The twist halfway through- SO good. I really liked this book and felt like I couldn’t put it down!
I just want to know more about who is Lotties’s dad? I like DS Salam, but I don’t want her to solve the cases. I want to know more about her! A book about her and her past would be a definite read for me!

I gave this book a 4 star review. I had to put it down a few times due to the subject manner (having survived a couple of abusive relationships with men in the past). This book really spoke to me as well with regards the struggles of being a mother of a child with special needs. Honestly, felt like this book had been written FOR me. I loved the different POVs, each really added to the story, and I was on the edge of my seat throughout.
Little note for the author: in the book, Jess uses "111" to call the non-emergency police line, however, this number is actually for the NHS line. 101 in the non-emergency police line in the UK

A thrilling book that keeps you turning the pages until the shocking ending. Full of twists and turns and shocks. Brilliant! I highly recommend reading this book! 📖

This book was compelling for a number of reasons.
A difficult subject matter, dealing with domestic violence but was an absolute page turner as 'The caretaker' took it upon himself to became the protector of women and rid the world of the men committing this violence against women. As the bodies mount up and the story hits the press the nation is divided. Some calling him a hero, others saying they should leave it to the police.
But that's half the problem, these men have been reported to the police in the past and have still been able to continue with their violence.
It is a book that really makes you think (a bit like another book called 'The Players' which left me thinking long after I'd finished reading - shouldn't have been such a big surprise that they were written by the same author, the clues were all there)....as was the identity of the caretaker, I knew I was on the right track with who the caretaker was, few red herrings thrown in, but I just knew!
This is a sometimes difficult read but also a must read.
Thanks to Netgalley for the opportunity to review this book, this is my honest opinion.

The story keeps you on the edge of your seat with its gripping plot and well-developed characters. If you're a fan of thrillers, this book is a must-read, offering an engaging and thrilling experience. Ready for more from this author!

Thank you NetGalley, D B Stephens, and One More Chapter for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Jessica Pendle is the main protagonist of The Serial Killer Support Group. Jess is a survivor of domestic violence and after leaving her abuser she finds comfort and like minded women in a local support group. However, Jess soon learns that the abusers of some of the women in the group are being attacked and killed by a vigilante serial killer known as “the caretaker”. But Jess must decide, is this murderer really so bad after all?
I found that this book was entertaining and fast paced. The chapters are quick and leave you wanting to continue right into the next. I also enjoyed that there were multiple POVs throughout the book, especially that of the Caretaker. I felt like the author did a good job in addressing a heavy topic, domestic abuse, and shedding light on such an important and often overlooked issue.
In terms of critiques, I did find that the story was a little predictable but I still needed to get to the end to confirm my theories. I have a strong stomach but that hammer chapter made me a little nauseous 🤢 I also wish we’d gotten a little more closure on Sophie’s end.
Overall, a fun and thrilling story that is also thought provoking! 3.5 ⭐️

I was so drawn in by the premise of this book and it was so well done, addressed difficult themes, and had a morally grey cast of characters that held my attention throughout the entire time!

I was sure I had it all figured out, but boy was I wrong! I didn’t want to put this one down! The plot was brilliant. I did feel one small part of the story wasn’t wrapped up, so four stars, but still a great read!!
Thank you to D B Stephen’s, NetGalley, and One More Chapter for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

A huge thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and D.B. Stephens for providing me with an ARC of The Serial Killer Support Group in exchange for my honest review.
The Serial Killer Support Group follows Jessica Pendle, a survivor of domestic abuse, who joins a support group for others in similar situations. However, things take a dark turn when the abusers of the group’s members begin to be targeted and killed by a mysterious serial killer known as The Caretaker.
From start to finish, I couldn’t put this book down. I devoured it in a single sitting. Stephens keeps you on the edge of your seat, crafting unexpected twists that make you question everything you thought you knew. Just when you think you’ve figured it out, a new revelation shifts the entire narrative.
The novel also tackles a deeply important and often overlooked topic—domestic abuse. It sheds light on the grim reality that many abusers go unpunished, exposing the harrowing experiences of victims and the lack of meaningful support from the systems meant to protect them. This exploration of justice and trauma adds layers of depth to the story, making it much more than a thriller.
A riveting, heart-pounding read from beginning to end, The Serial Killer Support Group is an easy five-star book for me. The story’s gripping narrative and important themes would make for a fantastic adaptation into a movie or TV series, and I’d love to see it come to life on screen.

The serial killer support group was a very thought provoking and thrilling story!
Jess Pendles life behind closed doors is nothing that she expected it to be. New Year’s Eve leaves her in the hospital after her boyfriend, Lewis hits her, a kind word from a nurse changes her life. Is it for the better or will Lewis continue to come after her?
This was a very interesting story. I had a guess as to what was going on and to begin with I was wrong. But what follows is a very compelling story about right and wrong. And just how far people are prepared to go to protect themselves. The characters in this story really make you think about what you would do in a similar situation. Is The Caretaker a hero or a monster?
I enjoyed this book and how it changed from the different POV to bring the story together and once you’re in on the secrets it just makes the story so much better!!
Thanks to NetGalley and HarperCollins Uk & One more chapter for the arc!!

Review:
The Serial Killer Support Group by D.B. Stephens is a darkly entertaining thriller that blends humor, suspense, and an intriguing premise. The story delivers a unique take on the serial killer genre, injecting it with unexpected moments of wit while keeping the tension high. The pacing is sharp, the characters are compelling, and the plot twists keep the reader engaged. While some aspects lean into the absurd, it adds to the book’s charm rather than detracting from its suspense. If you enjoy psychological thrillers with a touch of dark comedy, this one is worth checking out.
Summary:
The book follows a group of individuals attending a support group for serial killers, each with their own twisted motivations and secrets. When one of the members turns up dead, suspicions run high, and the group dynamic shifts from self-reflection to survival. As paranoia mounts, the protagonist must navigate the dangerous web of lies, deceit, and deadly intentions to uncover the truth—before they become the next victim.
Favorite Quote:
"as we shared, Becky spoke of how most of what we felt we were programmed to feel, of how we'd been gaslit up think it was our faults, our wrongs, our imperfections that had caused life to play the hand we had all been dealt. Our exes fed on that power."

First of all thanks for giving me the opportunity to be an advanced reader and to review this book.
What can I say, I am a sucker for a good revenge thriller and this one is a 5 star read.
Just reading the premise was enough to get me excited and when I started this novel I was hooked. It’s fast paced, the characters are well developed and I really felt for these women and rooted for them when they took matters into their own hands. The ending was very fitting, because I did wonder how this would continue.. and then the best part came when I read this was the book was the first in a series! I am already stoked for the next one, COUNT ME IN!
