This book is a very cozy fantasy that follows Scarlett who is returning to her hometown after ten years because something is wrong with the town's magic. The blurb that convinced me to read this book compared it to Charmed and that drew me in. This book has complicated family dynamics between Scarlett and her sisters and her Mom. Also has a complicated relationship between Scarlett and her childhood best friend Nate, with whom she had a will they won't they relationship. This book was a cute east read, I recommend giving this book a try if you like Charmed or Gilmore Girls.

“Impractical Magic” was compared to a blend of Gilmore Girls and Charmed, and I believe it really captured that essence. It exuded a cozy, magical autumn feel with a splash of second chance deep rooted romance. I appreciated the bond between the sisters and their strong ties to Oak Haven and how they all came together to find a way to save their magical little town.
The you have the relationship between Scarlett and Nate that developed slowly, creating a will-they-or-won't-they tension that I found engaging. The only predictable aspect of the book was the identity of the culprit behind the town's magical mishap. Overall, I found the book to be an enjoyable read just in time for Autumn!

I picked up *Practical Magic* hoping for that perfect autumnal read—curled up on the couch with a blanket, pumpkin spice coffee in hand, and candles burning around me. The start didn’t disappoint! The wonderful descriptions really drew me in, setting the cozy, magical mood I was craving.

However, the constant bickering between the sisters, especially Delilah, grew tiresome pretty quickly. It started to take away from the enjoyment of the story, which was a shame because there was so much potential for a warm, enchanting tale. I did push through to the end, but I would have enjoyed it more with less arguing.

Overall, Impractical Magic had its moments, but it just didn’t fully capture the cozy vibe I was looking for.

This is such a fun book for witchy season! I highly recommend it. If you aren't sure...get it!

Scarlett returns home after fleeing Oak Haven 10 years ago to help with the magic problems in her hometown. There is some unresolved family drama and a romance with an old friend.

It is a cosy witch story with a bit of a mystery to be solved. Unfortunately this book wasn’t for me as I just didn’t really feel much for any of the characters. The story was okay but the ending felt a little rushed as I would to have liked to have learnt more about some of the other town visitors. It was an easy read and I liked the set up of the town.

I was really drawn in by the Gilmore Girls meets Charmed comp, and I do think this book exudes cozy romantic autumn-core, but it was just very live-laugh-love in tone, and I could not help but cringe. It has a very cute cover and concept, and I still think there's a market of individuals that will eat this up, just not me.

I asked for an ARC as the book description sounded like my idea of preparing for autumn here in the UK. Scarlett is a witch that for reasons unbeknownst for the first several chapters, decided to leave the magically spelled witch community of Oak Haven. 10 years has gone by when Scarlett is asked by her sister to return home due to strange occurrences in the town. So, off she pops back home, to her sisters, mother, Nate (childhood bff and love interest) to save the day.
Personally, this book is a 3 star. Enjoyable read but lacked details and depth which I like in my stories. Examples, a description of the appearances of the characters would be great and personally, if my sister left for 10 years (or my child for that matter) and basically went incommunicado I would expect fireworks, some emotion and some honest conversations. As it took many chapters to get into the story, at this stage I didn’t feel a connection to Scarlett (or any of the characters) to be honest. This book is like a lazy Sunday, pick up and read to pass the time, enjoying it in the moment but I wouldn’t re read.

This perfectly cozy read for fall has it all. A picturesque inn, quaint little town, and a good looking handyman that makes the best coffee in the town? Oh, don't forget the magic. What more could you want?
Scarlett hasn't been home in 10 years. But after a ominous voicemail from her estranged sister, she races home to see just was trouble has fallen upon Oak Haven.

This was absolutely quirky as hell and I loved every second of it. I love a witchy small town story and this didn't miss. I did get frustrated with the characters and how they communicated with each other. It got annoying rather quickly with how quick they were to turn on each other. I get it, 10 years is a long time to build up some resentment but good lord.

All in all, a wonderful fall time romance.

Impractical Magic was absolutely adorable! Seriously so cozy and just all around the perfect fall read!

I loved this book! Scarlett is a very relatable character when it said

‘The thought of returning home filled Scarlett with a nausea-inducing blend of gleeful anticipation and overwhelming dread. There was so much wonderful waiting for her down in that valley, and so much awful.’

I got that, I wasn’t expecting the book to be funny aswell as romantic and a little sad, I really hope there is more books especially with the spell Nate is trying to conquer at the end.

P.s shout out for mentioning pippi longstocking too many people haven’t heard of her :(

I tried, I really did, but I had to DNF at 43% in. It was an endless series of caricatures, without any real development to be found. Every side character was happy to tell us how the main characters were clearly in love with each other, but the story never showed us why or anything to make us root for them. The immaturity of the characters was painful. These people were supposed to be in their late twenties but were acting like toddlers.

Maybe it got better, but I couldn't wait around any longer for that to happen.

If you are looking for a cute "romantasy" then you have come to the right place. The sibling banter between the 3 witch sisters is so funny to me and very realistic. The slow burn trope is usually one of my least favorite types, but this author did it very well and the ending was very worth it for me! At points, it did seem the author was forcing romance between Scarlett and her lover, but honestly the whole town was so it kind of made sense why it felt this way.

I was drawn to this book with its promise of family magic and a mystery to solve. Why has Scarlett been called home after so long? Why is magic going wrong in a town where witches thrive?
Honestly it was a sweet story but I found the last few pages were really rushed though I enjoyed the story overall.

Oh my gosh. I LOVED this. The world building in this book was brilliant! I adored the puntastic names of places. The back story of the Earl's. The inclusion of Spam. Everything about this was so cleverly thought out! There was a little bit of spice and some wholesome romance. With a "will they won't they" slow burn trope. The "whodunnit" was predictable but the rest of the story wasn't. EG portrayed the characters so well in this. You could feel the emotions. I did feel the ending was rushed a bit as I wanted to stay lost in this book for an age.

A beautiful debut!! If you're looking for your next cosy autumn read. - then get this on your pre-order!! (Link will be in the stories)

After a spell gone wrong she left behind her life including her family and could be boyfriend aka her childhood best friend Nate. Told in third person POV. Scarlett comes back to her home town full of female witches so magic gone wrong. Magic spells are going hey wire and as one of the daughters of the founding witch she comes back to try and fix the problem. Fighting internal battles and external factors Scarlett must figure out if she's staying or leaving. With guilt holding her back will she figure out a way through it? Can she help save her hometown? Will Nate and Scarlett have a second chance romance moment? And who are these strange magicians that keep popping up? With the tropes of second chance romance, forced proximity, miscommunication, banter, and magic. This book is a cute cozy read perfect for the fall time. Use of adult language and mentions of sexual relationships this could be classified as an upper young adult read to new adult read.

Scarlett is a witch from the small town to Oak Haven, where magic is the norm. Unfortunately there is something going wrong with the magic , and even the most simple spells are going haywire.

Reunited with her mother and sisters, they discover there is an infestation in the grove where the magic grows. While Scarlett only means to help , she ends up making this even worse.

While this is an easy and cozy read, ideal for the Autumn months. I didn't find myself connecting with the main FMC and the MMC Nate, and found them slightly annoying.

This story definitely got me in the fall spirt. I loved seeing Scarlett’s family dynamic with her sisters. This book is more of paranormal romantic comedy so if you go in with an open mind and don’t take it too seriously it is a fun read. Overall it felt like it was meant to be a young adult book but it did have some cussing and very mild spice.

Scarlett has spent the last 10 years living in San Francisco hiding from the past, when she is called back to her hometown Oak Haven by her sister, she has no idea what to expect or why her sister called her at all, she hasn't been home for 10 years, and she knows this time she can't put it off.

Scarlett senses that something is wrong straight away, something is definitely up with the magic in this town and after what happened the last time magic was off in Oak Haven, Scarlett is in no mood to stick around.

Can Scarlett overcome her past, deal with her trauma, and finally reveal the secret that has kept her away for so long? And can she and her family save Oak Haven again?

This is a wonderful story, there is magic, friendship, kin ship and a slow burn romance that warms the heart. Absolutely perfect for reading during the autumn months, I could almost imagine the leaves falling and crinkling leaves.

A enjoyable autumnal read. With a lot of magic and some will they won't they storyline. A imaginative light hearted read. Would recommend
