The book is a masterpiece, brilliantly crafted around three dynamic characters. It's important to note that this is an MMF romance, so it may not be everyone's cup of tea. However, if that's your genre, then you're in for a treat! This book is a rollercoaster of emotions – it's poignant, packed with action, terrifying at turns, and undeniably steamy

I really enjoyed this book!

I found that the book had a good storyline and I thought that it was well written.

The book had some great characters that were well developed, and who worked well together.

I found that the author had me routing for them as the book progressed and I was really engaged with the story.

It is a romantic and sexy story.

It is 4 stars from me for this one - highly recommended!

Another enjoyable read from this author.
I like that there is a storyline and not just bedroom scenes. It was good to follow different characters, especially meeting up again with ones from the previous book.

All in all a good read with plenty going on and characters you will like (and some you won’t!)

I would definitely read other books from this author.

Sometimes, you know you're getting a Dead Dove Do Not Eat book and you still hope it's at least halfway decent.
This is not one of them.

I've never read anything by the author, or even know if they have any other novels, but lord was it badly written. The plot was barely there. The dialog was, at best, cringy. The romance was forced and awkward. The scenes were decent, but repetitive after about the 10th one.

All I'm asking for in a novel is for the story to have some kind of structure; this didn't really have any. Matty (what grown man goes by "Matty") is torn up about leaving the Church even though he was forced into it and doesn't want to be a priest. He feels some fake sense of responsibility towards Father Andrew and Talix is forcing the tension when there isn't any.

This book was awesome!

It was full of drama, love, action, suspense and of course steam. I went into this blind and it was such a delight. Matty, Nico & Eden are such great characters too. I found them to be complicated and realistic. All of them are likable too. Each has their own journey and all of them are interesting. The chemistry between all three was off the charts. I was hoping this book would be steamy and I am happy to report that it is definitely spicy!

If you like Sara Cate but want a historical setting, I would pick this up. Totally recommend!!

I found the fast pace of the book incredibly engaging. It kept me eagerly flipping through the pages, eager to see what would happen next. Each character's growth throughout the story was a highlight for me, as they all faced challenges and evolved in meaningful ways.

Witnessing them achieve their goals was immensely satisfying and added depth to the narrative. Overall, the combination of a swift narrative pace and compelling character development made the book a thoroughly enjoyable read for me.

This was an absolutely delightful book, but I will say that I was glad I'd read the first two in the series before this one even though it's a standalone story.

The characters had distinct and different personalities that fit the times, and I felt deeply for each of their issues. Kudos to the author for that. My favorite was Matty, though, because he had so much to deal with and was such a lovable guy.

I highly recommend the book to lovers of American Historical Romance. The sexy scenes are spicy but not over the top, and the story is engaging from beginning to end.

Unfortunately, this book wasn't for me. I really enjoy MMF historical romances, but Casting Vows didn't flow well for me, and I found myself not attached to any of the characters. The book is split into four parts, each with different central conflicts about the foundation of friendship and love and relationship building, but ended up with more conflicts than needed towards the end of the book. The book starts with a trauma conflict, which I think could have been better served off page as a part of a recollection or flashback instead of on-page. Overall Talix's narrative style leaned on more telling than showing, and she asks for a lot of trust in us to believe her character development. Sadly for me, the sex scenes weren't even that sexy, as there were a lot of mechanics and not a lot of emotion. The ideas are there, and I'd like to continue to see more MMF historicals - particularly in settings like 1880s Los Angeles!
