This is a fun family cookbook with lots of great recipes that kids can handle, games, jokes, and even holidays around the world and off-season holiday recipes like Halloween.
My family doesn't do Elf on the Shelf, but I recommend this cookbook for anyone who likes to cook with kids, or just wants some fun recipes for themselves. My favorites were the Santa's Toy Bag (scrambled eggs and breakfast sausage wrapped in puff pastry, then tied with baker's twine so it looks like a toy sack), the Christmas punch (and the Halloween punch options!), and the Christmas cookies. This was a fun and festive book that will make a great gift and will be fun for families all year round.
This was a great cookbook. This cookbook was a wonderful extension of the beloved holiday tradition that captured the hearts of families everywhere.
The cookbook is divided into sections that cater to various holiday occasions, from breakfasts and sweet treats to dinners and party snacks. The recipes are family-friendly, and make it easy to engage children, making it an excellent resource for parents looking to create memorable moments during the Christmas season.
While the recipes are fun and festive, many of the recipes are dessert and candy-focused options. Overall this was a really good fun cookbook.
Thank you to Netgally and the publisher for an ARC of this cookbook in exchange for my honest review. What a fun cookbook! We are big elf on the shelf-ers in our house and I can't wait to make some of these with my daughter!
If your family loves Elf on the Shelf, this cookbook is about to sprinkle even more magic into your holidays! The Elf on the Shelf Family Cookbook is bursting with festive recipes, activities, and all the holiday cheer you can handle.
Guided by the Scout Elves themselves (with a little help from Mrs. Claus’ Sweet Shop crew), this book is perfect for making memories in the kitchen. It’s got everything from basics like kitchen safety and kid-friendly tips to delightful recipes like The Cheer Is Here Pancakes!, Mrs. Claus’ Famous Peppermint Bark, and even tiny elf-size snacks like Bitty Burger Bites. Bonus points for fun activities like Seek and Find games and movie night trivia that keep the holiday spirit alive.
The recipes are easy, festive, and packed with ways to involve kids in the kitchen—whether it’s whipping up breakfast for Scout Elf Return Week or a sweet treat for Christmas Eve. There’s even inspiration for celebrating birthdays and other holidays with your elf pal.
This cookbook isn’t just about food; it’s about creating traditions, laughing over flour-covered counters, and making the season unforgettable. If you’re ready to turn your kitchen into a North Pole workshop, this book is your ultimate holiday helper! 🎄🍪✨
Kids everywhere love The Elf on the Shelf, and that’s a good reason to pick up a cookbook that’s all things Elf on the Shelf, The Elf on the Shelf Family Cookbook: 50 Elftastic Recipes Plus Playful Elf Ideas, Games, Activities, and More!: A Festive Guide to Cooking with Your ... Perfect for Holiday Baking in Fall 2024, By Chanda A. Bell, middle school English teacher, turned CEO of the company that backs all things Elf on the Shelf. This is a cute book and has more than just recipes; it has crafts, games, and activities for kids of all ages.
The book includes tips and pointers for things like measuring, ingredients, and general kitchen protocol. Following those important things for kids to learn, there are games and activities, as well as fun recipes. While the recipes are kid friendly, they are not for kids to make by themselves; rather they need an adult present, which is the whole point of the book – that of bringing the family together to prepare for the holiday. The recipes are mostly easy, and call for ingredients that are found at any mainstream grocery store. They are written in the traditional manner with the ingredients listed first, followed by step-by-step instructions. Most of the dishes are accompanied by photographs of the finished product, and each page has plenty of elves on the shelf in different poses.
All told, this is a very colorful book that will be enjoyed by everyone in the family. It will give everyone good ideas to make for a great Christmas holiday. This cookbook is definitely fun.

Super cute!!!! Perfect addition for your elf to bring your little one! This is more than just recipes Theres game ideas and decorating. Also not just Christmas!
The Elf on the Shelf has taken Christmas by storm. I'm sure most of you have at least one at your house. This is a great complement to your Elf. The book starts with a letter from the jolly man himself. There's lots of helpful items in this cookbook like measurement charts, terms or jargon, and how tos. And the elves might get into a scrape or two in your kitchen too. There's breakfast items like pancakes, egg bites, and bacon candy. Homemade cocoa mix with ways to make it fun. Who doesn't want to make some snownuts. The elves will help you decorate your house too. There's a beautiful Santa wreath made out of salami and cheeses. Movie is more fun with the elves and their snacks. Give this book to your favorite family with elves. They can have a lot of fun during the holiday season.

This wonderful cookbook is packed with recipes and activities to help spread that Christmas cheer and excitement just in time for the Holidays. In this book the team of Mrs. Claus's Sweet Shop Eleves share their favorite recipes along with projects and activities. Each recipe is so easy to follow with detailed ingredients and directions. The amazing photos help create that magical feeling as we see the Elves in action. We can’t wait to create our favorites, like the Pumpkin Pie Comes and Elf-size Donut Delights. There is everything you need to create your own magical experiences for Christmas. Create wonderful traditions with your loved ones. Enjoy this adventure together.
This cookbook got me so excited to introduce my son to Elf on the Shelf this Christmas! The photos are whimsical and fun, and you can tell the author took a lot of time and care into creating magical looking kitchen scenes to accompany the recipes. Speaking of recipes, the ones in this book seem like they can all easily be made alongside kids and with common ingredients from any grocery store. This would be a great book for a family with kids that already have an Elf, or a gift alongside an Elf.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for an advance copy!
A sweet cookbook which will delight young and old alike, this is filled with recipes for Christmas treats that all ages will enjoy, and a cookbook with images throughout. An excellent way to entice young potential bakers to add to the holidays!

Many thanks for the ARC provided by William Morrow / William Morrow Cookbooks
The Elf on the Shelf Family Cookbook is full of recipes that kids will love for the holidays. Ranging from breakfasts to desserts with a lot of snacks in between there are a wide variety of holiday themed recipes. The layout of this cookbook is fun and the images are great, adding so much to look at on every page. The Elf of the Shelf theme is well done throughout the cookbook and I think the idea was well planned. I do wonder how practical and easy some of the recipes will actually prove to be from my standpoint. The kids will love them, but I’m not sure some of them are worth the time and effort that will need to be put in when I know I won’t be able to get mine to look like the photos in the cookbook. Overall this is an enjoyable Elf on the Shelf themed cookbook that is fun to look at and has a variety of different recipes to choose from.

Family friendly fun for the holiday season. With 25 days of activities, an advent calendar, a name generator (mine was Peppermint McCheer), and of course recipes, this will make your holiday season cheerful and bright. The activites are simple and fun, easy for kids to do and the recipes are not intensive and look really good. There is something for everyone here.
The pictures are so perfectly laid out, they bring this fun book to life. The pictures alone are worth the time. So fun and funny. Theis book also gives some good ideas for posing your elf on the shelf, and explores Chrisymas around the world, with an elf. You can't beat that.
Fun book, great activites and recipes and the pictures are exceptional. This is one Id add to my collection.
Thanks netgalley for sending this e-book ARC for review.
