In this book, a single mom falls for her brother's best friend. Declan and Renne have known each other since they were kids but not until they start to live together sparks ignites. An ok story for me nothing really special, Renne is holding back, but Declan is determined to prove her wrong.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for Netgalley

I love Ms. Schroeder’s books and this is no exception. I find it hard to not read a single parent or more-than-meets-the-eye book and I am grateful I read this. Declan and Renee have known each other a long time, he is her brother’s best friend and he always acted like a little brother. Now, they are all grown up and he needs a place to live and she needs help fixing her house.
He has preconceived ideas is who she is and so does she. It doesn’t take long for her to start seeing him for who he really is and how he interacts with Sadie (her daughter) will melt your heart. There were times I felt bad for him because it seemed like even his family didn’t give him the credit he deserved.
I liked the realistic relationship growth between Declan and Renee. Their chemistry was great as well. Add it the fact that we get more information about their dad, and I can’t wait to see what happens. I received an ARC and this is my honest, voluntary review.

Schroeder brings the sweet to a spicy heartbreaker. In Fine Form is a heartwarming, temptation that is a beautiful surprise. Opposites attract and set off sparks.

I'm always just so happy whenever Shannyn Schroeder has a new Chicago based book out. I just love her families and the Doyle's are one of my favorites. Of course, I also said that for the two prior series she did base in Chicago too.

Up this time is Declan who seems to be one of those guys that just only really cares about himself and doesn't really work hard at anything. He goes through life just kind of floating. I wasn't sure at first what I thought about him as a hero and then in walked Renee's daughter Sadie and all that changed. I know this is supposed to be a romance between Declan and Renee but I'm sorry the relationship between Declan and Sadie is what sealed the deal for me.

Don't get me wrong the relationship between Declan and Renee is a fun ride. I like how they both had to learn that there is more to the person they were living with then they first thought. I think you really saw the growth of both of them. Delan might have had farther to go but I believe they both need to see what they could become.

There are so many fun moments within the story. I really enjoyed how they are when they lived like a family. Declan did more for Sadie then her own father and every time that Renee thought he'd let the little girl down he proved just how much of good guy he is.

I really loved the story but sadly all it did was leave me wanting more of this family that's how much I enjoy them all. I will say that you don't have to read the prior series to really enjoy this one, though I don't know why you wouldn't want to but I will say try and get the first book in the series where you first meet Declan so you can really get to know him. Now all I have to do is wait for the next story.

"In Fine Form" by Shannyn Schroeder is a charming addition to The Doyle Family series. Declan Doyle, ready to shed his carefree lifestyle, unexpectedly falls for Renee Griggs, his best friend's responsible sister. Their journey from fake wedding date to genuine romance is filled with sizzling chemistry and heartfelt emotions. Schroeder deftly blends spicy romance with family dynamics, delivering a delightful story of love, growth, and second chances. Perfect for fans of opposites-attract romances set against the backdrop of a close-knit Chicago neighborhood.

Great book! Great Characters! It was worth the wait! Watching Renee & Declan’s relationship develop was pure pleasure! And Sadie is the icing on the cake. Can’t wait to see how things progress in the next book! Hope we don’t have to wait too long! This is the 2nd book in a series. While I don’t feel that you have to read the first one I would recommend it just because it was very good too. This is a must read!

I loved this book! I was not familiar with this series prior to receiving an ARC of In Fine Form but now I want to go back and read the entire series. Thank you NetGalley for this ARC!

This was a super fast read. Light and fluffy and spicy in all the best ways. And all the best tropes: brothers-best-friend, only-one-bed.

Single mom, Renee, is guarded from her divorce and last relationship but playful Declan is up for the challenge. He has no prospects, no commitments, and he likes it that way. Not here for a long time but a fun time. Which might be the perfect way to get Renee back in the dating game with no strings ... until things change.

Oh, and let's not forget about the reading. Because who doesn't love a romance book club crasher? Jane Austen Book Club anyone?

This was just such a quick and easy read to watch the characters grow, their fling develop and change and I enjoyed every moment.

Note: this book is part of a series. It can definitely be read as a standalone (which is what I did), but it might be better to read the first before this one so you aren't annoyed by the underlying plot thread that runs through all three books.

The Doyle story continues with a warm and engaging romance for the wild child and his best friend's sister. Both fighting it, and lots of insecurities and fun along the way. The mystery of their father's disappearance moves forward, so much to uncover! A fun read especially for a kick-back weekend.
