I used to really love YA novels but just can't get into them like I used to. This would be a good sweet romance for teens to enjoy.

This was not a particularly memorable read. I did not really enjoy this book and found myself re-reading the same paragraph over and over again according to my notes. I apologize for the late review, I didn't find my notes until this fall.

Unfortunately, I never really felt the connection between the hero and heroine. I also never really connected with the heroine personally

In "Lingering Echoes," Allie is suffering survivor's guilt over the loss of her cousin and her friends and family seem to have no idea how to help her through it – so they largely ignore her pain and trauma. During the summer, she's with her father, her new step-mother, and step-brother – who is a bit of a nightmare – and she's unhappy and in need of a friend who gets her.

She finds that in Damien, the mysterious guy with a tragic past who conveniently pops up wherever Allie goes. Despite the stalker-ish tendencies, Allie and Damien have a connection, but getting him to open up about his own secrets is difficult, which provides plenty of angst and drama.

Though I thought there were some pacing issues with "Lingering Echoes," it's very readable and I enjoyed the POV switch for Damien's story so that readers can get into his head and emotions more than they could if he simply recounted the story to Allie.

Ultimately, I thought "Lingering Echoes" was an enjoyable and satisfying read!

I received this free eARC novel from NetGalley. This is my honest review.

This has been on my TBR pile for so long, and I'm glad I finally got around to it. I really enjoyed the storyline and seeing the characters change throughout the story was a great character development. The plot was great and kept my attention. I'm glad I got the chance to read this and will be on the lookout for more in the future!

A young adult story with secrets. Intriguing.
Many thanks to Clean Teen Publishing and to NetGalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.

I am sorry but I am not interested in the title anymore. My tastes in books changed quite a lot in the last period, and I am no more interested in this title, so I think it is better to just don't start it and let it go. But I am really grateful for the opportunity.

This was a really good book that held me captivated and drew me in. I loved the characters - Damien was mysterious and sexy and scary. Allie's development throughout the book was believable and really well written. The plot and characters are what makes this book excellent - it's hard to put down! I loved watching these characters work through past events that had huge impacts on their lives. Overall, I think Erica did an excellent job with this one, and look forward to whatever else she comes up with!

It's one of those stories that I wish I had read sooner. For whatever reason, life I'm sure, I didn't get to this one. It got lost in the midst of everything else that hit my kindle.
Well, I found it again.
And I am so glad I read it.

Finding a way to feel comfortable in your own skin after tragedy can be difficult. Trying find yourself after tragedy can be good for the soul, but it may not be as easy.

YA, fast paced, drama-fueled, and an overall interesting read. I just wish I had read it sooner.

It had a great story and potential, but I don't know if I got to see enough of the depth of the characters, especially Nick. Still a very enjoyable read.

“You can’t change the past… no matter how much you want to.” Isn't that the truth?! I've often wondered if I could change things, what I would change, because as much as I would love for some things to be differently, where I am and who I am today would be greatly impacted by one little change.

In this young adult story, Allie and Damien become a therapy, of sorts, for each other, as they navigate through the assumptions and labels placed on them by those around them. Why are people so intent on handing out those judgements so quickly?

This is a very engaging read with an unexpected twist.

This book was just okay for me. I have had a review copy of this book for over 4 years but never felt compelled to actually read the book until now. I must say that I am happy to finally be able to mark this book off of my list of books to read. I found this to be a pretty quick read that held my attention but it was never the kind of book that totally grabbed me.

My feelings are pretty mixed about this book. I think one of the main things that I didn't care for in this book was the fact that it was another teen romance featuring a love triangle. I am not usually a fan of love triangles. In the case of this book, Allie has two boys falling for her. Aaron is always there to support her and gets her through a lot of tough times. Damien is the dangerous older guy that drives a motorcycle and has a few stalkerish behaviors. Guess who she picks?

I think that Allie's behavior was another major hurdle for me to overcome with this book. I am the mother of a teenager and not a teen so I do realize that I am probably not the target audience for this story but Allie was too much at times. She kept telling everyone that she was going off to college soon so she could make her own choices. Of course her father was telling her what she needed to do because on her own she wasn't doing too great.

I had a few other issues with the story. I thought that Damien's past was way to easy to figure out. We do eventually get more details but even then I thought everything seemed a little too perfect. Allie has a moment towards the end of the book where she suddenly remembers something that she had forgotten for the past year and it just felt really odd. I also could not believe that Allie's father and step-mother never addressed her step-brother's behavior towards her. He was terrible to Allie and then suddenly they started getting along.

There were some things that I did like about the story. Allie had a lot of grief and guilt to deal with from an event in the past. It has obviously had a great impact on her life and I did like seeing her work through those emotions. Allie and Aaron's friendship was a high point of the book. Aaron was probably my favorite character in the story and I liked his connection with Allie. While the big action scene at the end of the book seemed far-fetched, I still found it to be rather exciting.

I do think that a lot of readers will like this one a lot more than I did. I was entertained by the story even when I was questioning a character's behavior. I am glad that I read this book even though I feel like it was a pretty forgettable read.

Allie was annoying and immature, pretty much just not likable in general. Damian was a bit of a freaky weirdo stalker. And Aaron was just way too damn good for her

Book was reviewed on my blog a very long time ago. I have migrated blog since then and it is somewhere in archives or completely lost in the ether. (Sad times)
