A truly wonderful read!

I adored Heather. She was such a strong independent woman who put her son above everything else. Rene was perfect for her. He really seen her and only wanted to show her how special she was.

I loved the duet narration. At first I was a little thrown by the French accent, but quickly got used to it.

Overall, a super cute, swoony romance.

Thank you NetGalley and Savannah Scott for this audiobook. This is my voluntary, honest review.

Heather Does Not Believe In Valentine's Day.

Heather is a girl after my own heart: she loves coffees, her son, and her job as a barista/manager for a smalltown cafe. North Carolina is safe. Although traveling is a dream, it is just a dream. Here, she is home and in control. No man could sway her heart after her true love turned into infidelity.

Cataloochee cafe is the reprieve from her charming husband's betrayal in the town of Harvest Hollow. Heather refuses to fall for any more charming men, any smooth-talking handsome strangers. Trust is difficult for this hard-working single mother.

Rene Dubois is one such handsome men, a charming French man with a wide smile, and eager to help all those in help around him. Heather cannot avoid him hard enough, especially when Rene begins to make his mission to make this single mother learn how attractive she is, how deserving of love she is.

Rene begins with cheek kisses, quick, and unassuming. His flirty bantering begins to become true, his feelings growing, as does his teasing. The compliments come more often, and suddenly going home is not as appealing to the man in love with France.

Rene's bright eyes are starting to effect Heather's heart, the wall she built of stone crumbling down around her. Despite her resistance, butterflies dance in her stomach. Tingles run along her skin where he briefly touches her, caresses her.

I usually do not get so engaged with clean romances. They seldom make my heart race as I read the ink splayed across the pages, but this novel was a genuinely good read. It was obviously cheesy, but it tugged at the part of me that seldomly enjoys Hallmark films for the holidays. 🌟🌟🌟🌟/5 Stars!

I absolutely loved going back to Harvest Hollow (Sweater Weather Series, A Not So Fictional Fall) and am so glad we got Rene and Heather’s story!

Rene DuBois is a flirty, successful and charming French man who is visiting his best friend, Pierre and his new wife, Tasha. Heather is a divorced, single mother who runs the local coffee shop as if it was her own and just happens to be Tasha’s sister. Rene sees Heather like no one else has seen her before. I loved the way he helped her at the coffee shop while he’s supposed to be on vacation. Rene shows Heather through his actions that wants to take care of her and her son, Nate. There were so many sweet and tender moments where Rene authentically shows Heather how beautiful she really is.

This sweet closed-door romance was full of humor and relatable moments. I loved that the characters were a little more mature. This is a book full of putting it all on the line for a second chance at love and all the messiness that makes life beautiful.

The narrators were wonderful!!

I received a complimentary ALC copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own and were voluntarily given.

4.5 stars
This is a fun, entertaining, cute read. Rene and Heather are interesting, relatable, intriguing, wounded, strong, fun, entertaining characters. I enjoyed the path their romance took to get to their HEA. They are fun to spend time with. The secondary characters – especially Heather’s son – added to the fabric of the story and my enjoyment. The story is easy to read and get into.

I enjoyed the audio version of this book and the narrators.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I really like Savannah Scott’s writing style. I loved the cross over characters. This is a stand alone book though so don’t worry if you have not read other characters. It is a quick fun story that made me smile.

Yay! Another visit to Harvest Hollow brings us another sweet small-town romance! This time single mom, Heather, the manager of Catty Coffee is getting a chance at romance with a charming Frenchman of her own, but is he too charming to be true! A bit of second chances, close proximity, opposites attract, single mom and small-town tropes all thrown in the blender to make the perfect concoction to enjoy! The dual narration on the audiobook is fun as you get the real life feel of the French flirt and the emotions and stress of the single mom. Once again, Savannah Scott has woven a story full of fun, flirting, heartache and love that is the perfect sweet, clean-cut romance for anyone to enjoy!

Heather is a sweet but guarded single mom, spending her days tending to the coffee shop (she might lose) and her adorable son Nate in small town North Carolina. But one day Rene, a poetic Frenchman, comes to town. Little by little, he breaks down Heather's high walls and proves to her that she's ready to love again. The only problem? Rene is only in America for a vacation, and needs to go back to France. How could they possibly make it work when so much is stacked against them?!?

The scenes between Rene and Heather were EVERYTHING. I highlighted SO MANY LINES. This book is an EXTREMELY swoon-worthy romance, steamy while still being sweet and clean. Savannah Scott proves that closed-door romances can still bring the heat! The things Rene thinks, feels and says regarding Heather are the stuff dreams are made of. Scott's writing provided line after line of words I never knew I needed! 😍

The ending was so satisfying. It had me literally crying tears of joy! This audiobook was SO MUCH FUN!! Amanda Friday did all of the voices for the female characters, and Tyler Hyrchuk did the voices for all of the male characters! Tyler had the more challenging task of tackling many different accents and styles of speaking, and he did a wonderful job! It reminded me of listening to a radio show.

Trigger warnings: cheating (before the story begins)

Fun and flirty and swoonable!

“Read Savannah Scott,” they said. “You’ll love her books,” they said. “They are so good,” they said…. And they weren’t wrong! This is my first Savannah Scott book, but it won’t be my last. I’d been hearing the chatter on instagram and book tube for a while and added the author’s name to my loooonnnnngggg ‘authors to try’ list and now, here I am, a puddle of melted goo because…

‘He’s So Not My Valentine’ is pure romance. Delectably delightful. Fainting couch necessary because Rene is……thud! Swoon! And repeat all the way through. 🙂 Now, there are kissing books and then there are KISSING books and this definitely fits into the latter category. Definitely a clean, sweet read but, oh la la, the romantic tension is divine!

Loved the banter and the heart to heart’s and the comedic moments that had me giggling until I dove back into a swan-dive swoon again because that Rene is such a charmer!

I enjoyed listening to the audio book narrated by Amanda Friday and Tyler Hyrchuk — great voice actors who delivered solid performances, breathing life into these fun, endearing characters.

My thanks to Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op and the author for providing me with an audio copy of this book.

Savannah Scott’s He’s So Not My Valentine is an absolute delight. Set in Harvest Hollow, a place I’m always happy to return to, He’s So Not My Valentine is actually a sequel to the equally wonderful A Not So Fictional Fall. Fear not if you haven’t read that one as this can easily be read as a stand alone. That being said, you really should read Fictional Fall because it is just so good.

He’s So Not My Valentine revolves around Heather, a single mother who is busy running the town’s popular coffee shop and raising her son and who believes she has no time for romance and Rene a French real estate agent who is in town visiting his best friend. (His best friend, Pierre, just happens to be married to Heather’s sister, Tasha…who are the subjects of the previous book.) While Rene has no intention of falling for Heather he finds her quite striking and is bothered by the fact that she seems to think love just isn’t in the cards for her anymore. After all who could fall for a busy single mother? Of course he might not plan to fall for her…but you know he does, lol. Savannah Scott just makes characters you can’t help but love and root for. And Amanda Friday and Tyler Hyrchuk do a fantastic job of bringing Heather and Rene to life. If you are looking for a absolutely charming romance snap this one up and fall in love with Heather and Rene…and all of Harvest Hollow. I’d like to thank the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to listen to and review an advanced audio copy of He’s So Not My Valentine.

Savannah Scott absolutely understood the perfect beach read assignment. An emotionally unavailable single mother who’s previously been burned finds herself falling for the French guy on vacation. A story where the reader knows exactly where the story is going and hoping for the best case scenario. The audio book was super fun with the French accent.

Savannah Scott’s Getting Shipped series is one of my favorite small-town romance series so I was so excited to see a new book by her. I liked He’s So Not My Valentine but it didn’t fully grab me like her Getting Shipped series did.

This is a standalone sequel that takes place in the town from the series Sweater Weather. The book follows Heather who is a single mom running a coffee shop. Her brother-in-law's best friend Rene comes to visit from France and Heather immediately feels something and sees sparks but she thinks it’s just his flirty personality. I liked Heather and Rene together but I felt it was all too predictable. Nothing surprised me and the story did not take any chances.

Rene lives in France, Heather lives in South Carolina, and there was never a question of how they would end up together. I would call it foreshadowing but that is too obvious, one character even spells out the ending for you before it happens.

That may sound like a harsh criticism but that’s only because I love Scott’s writing and was just expecting more. This is still a great rom-com with very strong characters that you should check out.

I absolutely loved A Not So Fictional Fall, Savannah’s first novel that takes place in Harvest Hollow and that introduced us to Rene and Heather. I enjoyed this sweet romance and it was a quick and easy listen on audio.

I love that this story focused on a divorced woman. I am also divorced and even though I want to move forward, I’m also scared. Rene was sweet in being consistent in just wanting to be there for her. This was a sweet clean story that I do suggest, especially around Valentine’s Day.

I plan to share my review in my stories on Instagram.

Oh my, there is nothing like chemistry from a Frenchman. French kissing is not only on the lips apparently, it goes all the way to the the neck, wrists, fingertips. Oh yes, it does!

I listened to the audio for this one and I loved it. We have a French character so that means our male narrator did a take on the Frenchman speaking English with an accent! and it was amazing. It felt so much more romantic just to listen to the audio with that French accent. Sooo good.
I'm familiar with Savannah's humor and her laugh out loud moments in books. Although this one didn't have those moments for me, I did have many, many tender and romantic moments. And balled my eyes out on few occasions (extra points for making me cry).

This is a clean romance, with tons of chemistry and will definitely make you swoon. Our MMC is a book boyfriend material for sure: Oui bien sûr! Every husband, boyfriend, man in general, should read this book and learn (sorry, but it's true. Some forget after a while what it's all about; some just don't have no idea).
