I love the cover art. The expressions and illustration style caught my eye. Very cute! The bee is a fun and quirky little character. The educational pieces about the eco system are very helpful.
This is book 3 in a young reader's chapter book, following the friendship of a Honey Bee, and a Flea. I haven't read the first two in the series, but I can imagine they are both equally fun, and have some fun illustrations throughout. This title is a great chapter book to show younger ones STEM, that may struggle in reading some of the non fiction titles, so this could be a great first interaction with this to engage their interest.
I had a hard time finding delight in this book. The cover really caught my attention and I love these types of stories however I think this would have worked better as a picture book rather than a chapter book. The illustrations were fine, but there needed to be more of them. The bossy bee, introduced as a strict rule follower, makes her friend and co-worker upset and spends the rest of the book unhappy and trying to figure out where it all went wrong. The drama at the end was not very ho-hum and the resolution was mildly satisfying. I try and picture what child I could hand this book to that would find it engaging and I just don't see it fitting in and finding a readership. 4 stars for the cover and 2 stars for the content.
ARC Copy...Thought the art work was cute and beautiful, fitting for the hehe Bee is quirky character. Educational too about the backyard eco-system. Good for early readers.
This was a cute story but I really wish the illustrations would’ve been on color. The quiz at the end was a nice touch. The little bee would’ve been absolutely stellar in color.
