This was such a sweet story that provided insight into Juan and Molly’s love story. Molly will always be one of my favorite book characters. I love being in her point of view.

This Holiday novella is sweet and cutesy, the right thing to start getting you excited for the approaching season.

I was lucky enough to get an advanced ebook from NetGalley, and devoured it in a quick hour.

Molly, the Head Maid of the Regency Grand, and her partner Juan Manuel get in the holiday spirit in a whirlwind Christmas they both will never forget.

I love Molly, ‘Little Miss Literal’, and her quirks

4 holiday spirit stars

I really like Molly the Maid as a character, so I was excited to have the chance to read this short novel focused on the holiday season. All my favorite characters make a return appearance in this one.

We learn about the heartwarming traditions that Molly had with her Gran and how her boyfriend Juan Manuel has embraced them. Molly and Juan Manuel have added some new traditions to the mix too, like baking cookies for their neighbors. This short novella adds to the bond of these two characters.

I loved visualizing the Regency Grand Hotel, all decked out in holiday decorations.

The mystery centers around Juan Manuel's strange behavior, and Molly starts to worry about all the wrong things. Her fellow cleaner, Cheryl, continues to be a thorn in her side. Will it be a delightful holiday after all, or one that Molly wants to forget?

Molly the Maid is distressed when the hotel’s Secret Santa gift exchange leaves her questioning who she can trust. Her boyfriend Juan Manuel seems devoted to her but at times leaves her questioning what else is going on.

This was adorable!! Such a cute holiday novella. It was the perfect length-a quick, easy, fun holiday read.

Thank you to NetGalley and RandomHouse for the ARC!

Thanks to NetGalley for the free advance copy of The Mistletoe Mystery by Nita Prose in exchange for an honest review.

This was a cute but utterly predictable short story featuring Molly the Maid and others from the previous books in the series. It also made me anxious to see how confused and upset neurodivergent Molly becomes when she misunderstands Juan Manuel’s intentions.

Not up to Prose’s usual talent in my opinions.

This was a short and sweet story that allows readers and fans to visit with Molly during the holidays. The plot was obvious from about the second chapter, so I don't know if it really held much "mystery" at all for anyone other than Molly herself. Also, given how confident Molly is in so many other ways, it was a little surprising to see her question herself so much here. Regardless, it was a treat, as another reviewer said, to spend time with Molly. This is a great little bridge as we wait for the next full-length Molly mystery.

I can’t help but to love every one of these stories, I just love Molly the maid. This was short and sweet, the perfect little Christmasy romance with a little mystery.

Thank you NetGalley, the author and publisher the this advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

I love the Molly the Maid series and was excited to read this story and get an update on all of the characters. This is more of a cute story than a mystery though or at least a mystery in the vein of the other two books in the series. It seemed like most if not all readers would guess what was happening early on so there wasn't much mystery? It was cute though and a fun read, so I'm rounding up from 3.5 stars.

Also, I think you'd definitely get more out of the story if you'd read the two books in the series beforehand. As a standalone, you'd miss the significance of some of the updates about the different characters.

Overall, cute and a fun read, but not a real mystery. Definitely worth a read especially if you are in a holiday mood.

Many thanks go out to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group-Ballantine for allowing me to read the ARC of The Mistletoe Mystery.

I loved this book. It was delightful, refreshing, and a book that I could reread every year at Christmas time. I recommend reading the first and second books before this one to get the back story of Molly and how she got to this point in her life.

It was so heartwarming to read about Molly and Juan Manual's Christmas-time traditions and to delve into their relationship even more. This was a short, quick read that will warm your heart and leave you wanting even more adventures in Molly's life.

Nita Prose's The Mistletoe Mystery is a delightful novella that perfectly captures the magic of the holiday season. With her signature wit and charm, Prose continues to enchant readers with the adventures of Molly, the lovely maid at the Regency Grand Hotel.

This heartwarming tale follows Molly as she investigates a mystery that threatens to disrupt the festive cheer. While the plot is predictable, the characters and their interactions are what truly shine. Prose's ability to create relatable and endearing characters is undeniable.

Summary from Amazon ~

Molly Gray has always loved the holidays. When Molly was a child, her gran went to great lengths to make the season merry and bright, full of cherished traditions. The first few Christmases without Gran were hard on Molly, but this year, her beloved boyfriend and fellow festive spirit, Juan Manuel, is intent on making the season Molly’s most joyful yet.

But when a Secret Santa gift exchange at the Regency Grand Hotel raises questions about who Molly can and cannot trust, she dives headfirst into solving her most consequential—and personal—mystery yet. Molly has a bad feeling about things, and she starts to wonder: has she yet again mistaken a frog for a prince?

A heartwarming, magical story about the true spirit of the season, The Mistletoe Mystery reminds us that love is the greatest mystery of all.

It's a cute Christmas story in the style of O. Henry.

A short and overly sweet holiday story. It's not much of a mystery when Molly misreads her boyfriend's intentions. I love the character, but this seems like a throwaway. More of a romance (bodice ripper) than a mystery, (with the requisite breathy descriptions of Juan Manuel's bare chest, deep brown eyes and long eyelashes). Stick with the first two novels and hope there will be another with a real mystery to solve.

It is always fun to read a new Molly Maid story and this cute Christmas story is no exception. Molly and Juan are spending Christmas together as she remembers past one with her beloved Gran. But what is Juan up to this year? Molly hates that she doubts him, but there are too many mysterious occurances for her to discount.

I received a copy of the book "The Mistletoe Mystery" from NetGalley. Molly the Maid makes another appearance in this sweet mystery. This novella takes place at Christmas. Molly now lives in her apartment with her boyfriend Juan Manuel. They are getting their apartment ready for the holidays. Molly is set in her ways for traditions she had at Christmas with her beloved grandmother who died a couple years ago. Her sweet boyfriend Juan is trying hard to continue those traditions that are so important to Molly. They both work at the hotel. Molly as a maid and Juan got promoted to pastry chef. the only "mystery" here is why is Juan acting a bit mysterious? should she be worried? there is also a secret Santa at her work as well. How will that go for the sometimes awkward Molly who sometimes has a hard time with social situations. A nice read a good one for the upcoming holidays.

This was a cute novella. I would have liked to learn a little more about Juan Manuel’s backstory, family life, etc. His mother was mentioned but vaguely. We know Molly’s backstory, about her quirkiness and how she grew up. I wanted more on the actual love story of Molly and Juan Manuel.

I feel like everyone (except for Molly) could see what was happening in this story. I knew how it ended before the book began, it was very obvious to me. Again, I feel like if we knew more about Juan Manuel it would have wrapped it up in a nice little bow. I am looking forward to reading “The Maid’s Secret” that comes out next year and hope to read more about Molly and Juan Manuel.

When I think of Molly the Maid, I think of a mystery. Nita Prose did a twist with ' The Mistletoe Mystery'. A mystery with a romantic twist at Christmas Time.

There's not a lot I can say about 'The Mistletoe Mystery ' without giving things away. I will say that Molly is head maid at the Regency Hotel still. Prose still makes her lovable and is really developing her. You will have to get the book when it hits bookshelves in October to find out more.

Tentative Publication Date: October 1, 2024

Thanks to Netgalley, Random House Publishing Group, Ballantine, and Nita Prose for the E-ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

😊Happy Reading😊

Our favorite maid is back to solve a whole new mystery at the Regency Grand Hotel. The “Molly the Maid” books have quickly become some of my favorite cozy mysteries, and this heartwarming novella was a sweet addition to the series. At just 128 pages (or 2 hours and 38 minutes on audio), “The Mistletoe Mystery” is a quick and easy read. This one is a bit different than the first two books in the series. There was no murder to solve this time, and I would say it’s more of a romantic suspense story. I enjoyed it nonetheless and think it is the perfect mystery to snuggle up with this holiday season. You will need to read the rest of the series first before diving into this one, otherwise it may be a little confusing. I’m so happy that Molly is back, and I can’t wait for the next novel!

I love Molly the Maid, so I was super excited for this Christmas novella! This is a story of Molly and Juan’s relationship, and it had all the quirks of the first two novels. I absolutely loved getting this glimpse into their love life!

If you’ve read the first two Maid books, you will love this sweet Christmas story.

If you haven’t read the Maid books yet.. well, what are you waiting for? Read them 😍 But seriously, you will understand this book more easily if you have read the first two.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Random House Publishing for the advanced readers e-copy in exchange for my honest opinion! My review is posted to Goodreads, please see the link below. I will also post on Instagram. Thank you!
