Molly is back at it again. This time, at Christmas. As Molly enjoys the wonder of the holiday season, she finds herself questioning if her relationship is really all that she thought it was. At each turn, she finds signs that Juan Manuel has found someone else. Is she destined to be alone or will she find peach at Christmas?

This novella was a really cute and fun story. It is a quick and easy read. I found Molly’s thoughts to be relatable and humorous. A perfect story to get you in the holiday spirit.

Cozy-ish Mystery Novella that follows a five-star hotel maid who has a holiday mystery to solve when a Secret Santa gift exchange raises questions about who she can and cannot trust.

4/5 stars: This is book 2.5 in Prose's Molly the Maid which is a Cozy-ish Mystery Novella that takes place at Christmas and features a five-star hotel maid who's beloved boyfriend has been acting out of character causing her to worry that everything's not okay. But after the Secret Santa gift exchange at the hotel, she'll learn truth and all her bad feelings were for not. A heartwarming, magical story about the true spirit of the season and reminds us that love is the greatest mystery of all. This isn't really a mystery but it's lovely none the less. With wit and humor, Prose's writing and character work are excellent; the characters are well-rounded and complex while remaining incredibly likable. It's always great to catch up with Molly, Juan and the folks of the Regency Grand Hotel. A short and sweet holiday tale that has a nod to The Gift of the Magi and overall is delightful. Prose touches on some sensitive topics, so take care and the CWs. While you could read this as a stand-alone, you'll enjoy it much more if you start this series at the beginning and pick up book one, The Maid.

I received this eARC thanks to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine | Ballantine Books in exchange for an honest review. Publishing dates are subject to change.

What a fun little mini Molly Maid mystery! The mystery is not at all as it seems! Perfect afternoon story for the fall time with a cup of coffee. I enjoyed it!

If you love Molly the Maid, this is another great addition to the series! I was hoping for more of a mystery element, but I do think this will set up the next story well. I loved being back in Molly's world and The Regency Grand, and seeing some of our favorite characters from the first two books. A couple other pieces tie really well to the first stories and it does wrap up a few previous loose threads.

I don't really feel like they need to keep writing stories in this world, but I keep picking them up so that's saying something! Molly the maid is just such a special character and Christmas is my favorite holiday - so needless to say I had a good time with tis one. A quick, super cheerful holiday read.

I was really excited to see that we’d get to revisit Molly the maid for another round and especially was excited about the Christmas theme for some added comfort. As a novella should be it is short and sweet, and I was happy to see Juan and Molly’s cute, unique and green flag filled relationship at the forefront. We got all our favorite Mollyisms trying to dislodge what’s literal and what’s figurative and a lovely dose of gran knowledge, but some of this seemed a bit rushed and predictable and forced. It was also missing the mystery aspect I’ve come to love from the series which was disappointing. The surface level Molly we love was there, but it was a bit of a tease and missing the substance and twists we were used to from the first two novels. I’m hoping the third novel makes up for it but was glad to have a teaser of sorts. While it was predictable, it was still sweet and comforting and will be a cute and easy read for the holidays, but won’t have the same lasting impact as the full Molly novels.

I absolutely adored this novella!
I was so grateful to receive this ebook from @netgalley & @randomhouse thank you so much I'm such a fan of Molly!

With Christmas pretty much just around the corner, this book is brimming with joy and lovely holiday feelings! The relatable holiday festivities make it a perfect read for this coming season.

Juan’s kindness towards Molly is heartwarming... though the story might take some unexpected turns!
I love how Molly and Juan have their set meals for each day of the week. It reminds me so much of my own traditions like Spaghetti Monday, Taco Tuesday, and Pizza Friday.

So thankful and grateful to Netgalley and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine for an e-arc of this book 🎄💌

I squealed in excitement when I was approved to receive the ARC for a book in the ‘Molly the Maid’ series!! I love these books and very happy to report that I loved this short novella around Christmas time. It had all the fun stuff these books have - cozy vibes, Molly’s funny little quips, her inability to read social cues which is endearing as well as adds to the fun and a lighthearted mystery at the heart. Add christmas cheer to all this and it made for a perfect recipe to read for the holidays! I would definitely recommend this to be read during Christmas if you love the holiday spirit, yummy beverages (read hot chocolate, mulled cider) and decor descriptions.

What a cute Christmas story with Molly the Maid. Of course it was predictable, but that’s what a Christmas story should be.

This was an adorable little short story. I’ve enjoyed the entire Maid series but this one is super sweet. The plot was obvious but a quick read that is so heart warming makes me smile.

Thank you to NetGalley, Nita Prose, and Random House Publishing, Ballantine Books, for this arc of The Mistletoe Mystery, which is out October 1, 2024!

📝 Quick Summary: Nina is back and it’s Christmas time! This cozy novella follows Nina and Juan , her boyfriend, and their work at Regency Hotel. Cheryl is still Cheryl
, and as head of the Maids, Nina is back to dealing with the maids and their work in the hotel room. While at work one day, Nina noticed Juan talking to another female lady, and Cheryl starts putting ideas in Nina’s mind~ is he as trustworthy and faithful as she believes? Nina’s world starts tilting on its axis as she tries to see what could possibly be going on.

❤️ Initial feels: I’m glad to be back with Nina at the Regency Hotel, and loving this short and sweet plot line.

💁🏼‍♀️Moving character: I enjoyed Nina’s characters in the first two Maid novels, and her unique and spunky personality is back.

📝 Words that inspire: Think the best, not the worst.

The good thing about bad times is that they pass.

📖 Read if you want: a cozy mystery, small drama, warm Christmas time feels

💡 Final sentiments: This novella is super cute and an easy, breezy read that will sprinkle in that holiday sentiment throughout. The mystery was not too difficult to figure out, but with Nina, nothing is ever clear. Even though you may figure it out early on, this was still a super fast and fun read. It was a great visit with some old friends at the Regency Hotel.

This was a good novella for anyone who is already a fan of Molly and The Maid series. It’s not so much a mystery with a murder, but a sweet behind-the-scenes bonus for those who are fans of the series. It’s not something that has to be read to get through the series. It is a nice little extra holiday read for fans of the series. I do recommend reading this. Thank you to Net Galley and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine for allowing me to read this book early for an honest review.

I knew exactly where the story was heading but that didn’t deter me from reading. I even got a little teary-eyed in the end. The only thing I did wrong is read this book on a 90 degree day. It will be published on October 1, 2024, and is the perfect holiday love story. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher, Random House, for a free copy in exchange for a review!

I’ve enjoyed getting to know Molly in the first two books in this series. This novella is a great addition to the series. While there is no murder in this one, there is a bit of a mystery. Molly is feeling that her boyfriend, Juan, is hiding something from her and she worries that he doesn’t really love her. The reader can quickly see what the mystery is, but the ride to get there is fun and oh so sweet. Great Christmas story!

A sweet addition to the series! Not a mystery per se but more insight to the life of our favorite maid. Hope this did not distract Nina from the next installment!

I absolutely love Molly the Maid, her voice, the way she constantly references her beloved Gran (RIP) and the chemistry and pure adoration she has for her boyfriend Juan Manuel. If you already love Molly, you will love this sweet short story, I read this in less than an hour.

No murders, but plenty of saccharine sweetness and holiday nostalgia. I’m not surprised that they have a Secret Santa at the Regency Grand, and that Molly upcycles turn down chocolates from the rooms. If you already love the Maid series, please invest a little time on this novella, which has no murder but all romance. It put me in the Christmas spirit!

Thanks to NetGalley and Random House /Ballantine for the ARC. Novella to be released October 1, 2024.

This book was so cute! I received it as an ARC from Random House Publishing Group. I haven't read any of The Maid series before this one, but I enjoyed it. In case you're wondering, there isn't a murder to solve in this mystery. It's a light hearted, good natured story about Molly finding love with her boyfriend, Juan Manuel. The story centers around their relationship and preparing for the staff Christmas party at the Regency Grand hotel. Throughout the book, Molly quotes a lot of her "gran's" sayings (who is no longer alive) that have an influence on her decisions and thoughts. In the novella, Molly battle's with not jumping to conclusions and understanding that things are not always what it seems, especially when it comes to her boyfriend. Can she be sure and trusting of his intentions or not? The outcome turns out to be a huge surprise for Molly.
