This was such a cute and short little Christmas story from one of my favorite series! The “mystery” in this book was definitely a little predictable, but overall I thought it was a sweet story that brought a lot of Christmas cheer and heart. Definitely a good book recommendation for the holiday season!
Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine for a copy of the book!

I love Molly, and this was another great book in the Molly the Maid series.
First, I think people need to understand Molly and recognize that she only sees black and white for a reason. Although it has never been said, Molly seems to be somewhere on the spectrum. If people could understand that, they might "get" more of what is being said in the book and why Molly is the way she is.
In this story, Christmas is around the corner, and Molly's boyfriend Juan Manuel is intent on giving her gifts from the advent boxes every day before the holiday. Molly adores Juan Manuel, but due to her not understanding all queues, she can get a bit lost at times as to what is going on.
I love how the people in the story embrace Molly and see her for the sweet person that she is. It is a wonderful, heartwarming story, and a nice, quick read for the holidays (or any time).

this was cute. love a molly the maid story, and this was no exception. it was lighthearted and fun, a perfect quick holiday read.

I want to preface this review by saying that I adore the other two books in this series. Molly is such a lovable character, and solving mysteries alongside her has been a delight. Of course I wanted to read a Christmas novella about her!
This book is undeniably charming - so sweet it’ll make your teeth hurt. Ultimately, it wasn’t for me. The “mystery” here is more of a lighthearted romantic comedy mishap that tugs at the heartstrings but offers little in the way of intrigue. I had hoped for a festive hotel mystery for Molly to unravel, something with a bit more substance even if not as complex as the full-length novels. I was looking for for a bit more substance and less fluff.
If you enjoy light romantic stories with touches of humor, especially those set at Christmastime, you’ll devour this novella. But if, like me, you prefer less romance and more corpses in your mysteries, you might want to skip this one and save those two hours for something darker.

Once agin Nita Prose and the perfect Molly Maid have an amazing short story. The quirkiness is perfect. Did you know right from the start where the story was headed YES! but who cares. A good sprig of mistletoe and romance. Perfect holiday read.

I was not a fan of this one. It was too drawn out and too obvious, even with the personality Molly has.

I love the adventures of Molly the Maid and this Christmas tale was just the treat. Molly is exactly how I’d imagine she would be during the holidays and the twists and turns in this story lead to a rewarding ending. I can’t wait to read more of her adventures.

No murder, no crime. You know exactly what's going to happen from the start. Cutesy in a sappy way--easy to skim.
It's Christmasy, I'll give it that.

I loooove watching Christmas episodes of my fave shows and this felt just like that! If you haven’t read the other books, it might not be for you, but if you have, pick this one up for Christmas!

I have the other two Maid books sitting on my shelf and I will get to them in 2025. I picked this up because I heard it was super short and it's on theme for Christmas. If I didn't read it now then I would have to wait a whole year to come back. I read this in about a day. It's super quick. I did not enjoy it. I hope the other two books are nothing like this one. There was no mystery and the FMC was so annoying. How did she not get that she was being proposed to? I feel like she was creating drama in her head for no reason. I'll still pick up the other two and hoping they are better and filled with mystery.
Big thanks to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine for letting me read and review this ARC!

Cute! Can't go wrong with Molly. I will say there was no mystery here, well not for the reader. It was pretty obvious what was going on but, in true Molly fashion, she was a little in the dark. I think it deserves a different title. But it was a cute and cozy read.

Molly the Maid is back for this cute Christmas novella. She thinks something weird is going on with her boyfriend, Juan Manuel, and she is determined to get to the bottom of it. This story is filled with mystery, romance, and the best part - Molly. I love her character and I was happy to see more of Juan Manuel in this novella and see how their romance has developed. Definitely a good holiday read with all the Christmas vibes!

I am a big fan of the first book, The Maid, about Molly. She is so quirky and cute; almost a modern day Amelia Bedelia. In this little Christmas novella we learn about Molly and Juan Manual living together in the apartment she had once shared with her grandmother. They are so very happy together, but then Juan is acting out of character and Molly wonders if something is going on with him.
Overall this is a super cute story and a quick read for a busy month!

This is a novella in the Molly Maid series. It focuses on the relationship with Molly and Juan, which was nice to see because Juan was mostly absent from The Mystery Guest! They celebrate Christmas and go all out! But Juan is overly tired and seen in places where he shouldn't be... is everything okay in paradise?

Thank you @prhaudio for this free audiobook and NetGalley and Random House- Ballantine for an eARC.
I adore Molly the Maid and was so excited to see a Molly holiday novella. She and the gang are back with another mystery to solve, of a more Christmasy nature. This brought all the fun and quirkiness we expect from Molly the Maid and I loved every minute.
Lauren Ambrose as narrator just brings Molly to life!
If you’re a Molly the Maid fan, definitely grab this one. Even if you’re not familiar with Molly, still grab it because it’s fun. Then do yourself a favor and grab the rest of the series.

I love all of Molly the Maid's adventures and The Mistletoe Mystery is no exception! I have previously listened to Nita Prose's The Maid series on audiobook (expertly read by the wonderful Lauren Ambrose) but read this one on my Kindle. I found it to be as wistful, wonderful and sweet as all of her other works although this is the first one that made me cry! A wonderful read for Molly the Maid fans and especially this time of year. Five stars!

It’s always such a joy to be reunited with Molly!
The Mistletoe Mystery is a lovely holiday novella following Molly and Juan Manuel as they, along with the rest of the Regency Grand Hotel, prepare for Christmas.
This was a fantastic book to pick up in the midst of a busy month as it’s a quick, comforting read. You get to spend a ton of time with beloved characters and there’s the perfect blend of mystery and romance. The mystery is the lowest-stakes, coziest mystery of all time and I predicted where it was going fairly early on, but that didn’t matter because the ending was so sweet and perfect.
You’ll definitely need to read the first two novels in the series before picking this one up, but fans of the series will absolutely love The Mistletoe Mystery!
The Mistletoe Mystery is out now. Thanks to Ballantine Books and NetGalley for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.

The Mistletoe Mystery by Nita Prose is a light and quick holiday installment of the Molly the Maid franchise. The plot slightly moves Molly's story forward, and features the characters from the hotel that we've come to know. While this was not a resounding win for me (the plot was entirely predictable, and it was surprising that even Molly couldn't pick up on what her boyfriend planned . . . ) it was comforting to end this space again while we wait for the next, full length Molly book.

This was different from the first two Molly the Maid books, which featured an investigation into a character’s death. It was light and sweet. I know the way we read Molly’s character is through her particular habits and insecurities, but I find that I’m being pushed to question Juan Manuel in each book. There’s not always bad intention, and this was predictable. But I don’t really like feeling like he’s the bad guy when he seems so loving.
