Tanner’s book on walking the way of Jesus can be summed up a “From acting, to actually living.”
Tanner has a knack for storytelling.
This book is a blend of vibrant storytelling similar to the weaving of Matthew McConaughey book “Greenlights” - blending introspection and life lessons for being a human.
Yet, Tanner also weaves life lessons in the vain of Donald Miller. He brings is right into his experiences & how they shaped him. Tanner has a way of connecting the simple things of life, with walking the way of Christ.
It’s his journey into the depths.
And the depths of Christ revealing himself to His precious sheep - us, you & me!
This book is a poignant reminder on how we should live.
Tanner’s words can help the wayward believer realize their true need.

Dare I say, I believe that one day, Tanner Kalina will be a household name in the Catholic Church. Yet given his friends and connections, he 100% could be know by Christians in all the English speaking countries.

I found myself spellbound by this true story of an actor turned evangelist. In Aching for Greatness: Discover God's Love in the Restless Search for More, author Tanner Kalina writes with authority about developing an intimate relationship with Christ.
The reader is drawn to Kalina's story because he is such a fascinating individual--a spiritual seeker who also surfs, a card player who cries out for the Lord. His testimony of finding his way to God is mesmerizing and appealing, especially to young people thirsting for Jesus' love.
Kalina's quest to find true meaning in life amid the glitter and glamour of Hollywood is like a modern version of St. Augustine's Confessions. A master storyteller, Kalina is quite persuasive in his invitation to readers to experience the life of fullness and redemption Christ offers.
This is the type of book you will want to savor, pondering deeply on the truths it tells. Kudos to Kalina for creating such an engaging spiritual work of art.
