Back in Benedict with Beth and Tex, in this Alaska Wild series.

Travis has escaped. Beth and Tex decide to get away for a bit and go camping. But not for long. When they spy a person leading a horse with a body hanging over it, their camping comes to an end.

Who is the dead person? And how did he come to be with Jin at the mine. And why is someone killing the people at the mine?

With more than one suspicious person playing hide and seek in the woods surrounding the town, they will need to divide to conquer.

The characters in this series are so well-done. Even Bigfoot.

Always a good mystery to solve with this one!

Another good book in this series. It resolves a series wide plot so I hope that does not mean the series end. You really care about the characters.

Beth’s kidnapper has escaped prison and threatened to find her and kill her. Beth, who barely survived the first kidnapping, is scared of Travis finding her, but also angry. She has hidden out in a remote Alaskan town where everyone looks out for the community which includes Beth. Beth is a strong character and has built a life, including finding love. As her friends rally around to protect Beth, they learn of deaths at an isolated mining camp. Who is killing the miners and where is Travis? The two mysteries bring tension and action and the story quickly caught hold of me and kept me reading every spare moment. I love the characters and the location.
Thanks to St. Martins Press and NetGalley for the ARC.

“A walk is always good for the soul.”

This series keeps getting better! This one held my attention from cover to cover and I don’t think I’ll ever be able to hike in Alaska again without looking for a light blue sock with Mickey Mouse embroidered on the back.

As always, readers get a little more of the backstory and the jigsaw pieces of Beth Rivers’ life start to fit together. I loved the trek to Blue Mine, the murder mystery and the appearance of Bigfoot. Jin was a fantastic character; she kept throwing me off with her unpredictability.

I think the biggest lesson for me was to be aware of complacency.

Shelton creates an atmospheric mystery for sure, but she is a master at keeping her readers guessing and doling out just enough information to keep us turning pages. I eagerly await the next installment in this series.

I was gifted this copy by St. Martin’s Press and NetGalley and was under no obligation to provide a review.

Thank you to NetGalley & St. Martin's Press for this ARC of Perfect Storm by Paige Shelton in exchange for an honest review! This is the sixth installment in Shelton's Alaska WIld series. I do feel like you can just read this book and you'll be able to figure out all of the information/details you need to understand the characters & their backgrounds pretty early on! That being said I think this book in particular will be better served if you've read at least some of the earlier books. You'll have a great appreciation of the characters obviously, and also what situations are finally coming to a head for them.

I was excited to read Perfect Storm, and I think it's my favorite of the Alaska Wild series. It has some really great suspense that I enjoyed. And like I always find with this series, it's an excellent mix of a cozy mystery and a thriller. Though this book in particular was probably the most thrilling of the series in my opinion. Another great adventure in Benedict! I would say Perfect Storm is a book you'll struggle to put down, especially if you've read the earlier books. You'll be very invested in finding out what happens next!

Again I find that I'm a fan of Beth! She's a strong protagonist. But there's really no character that I didn't like. And like always the setting is an absolute favorite of mine. I feel like the setting was a very present feature in Perfect Storm and I really appreciated what it adds to the story!

This is a book I'd recommend to anyone looking for a well-written mystery, but if you've already read this series you absolutely have to continue with this installment!

I enjoyed this book. I especially enjoyed the conclusion. I’m hoping that this is not the end of us following Beth’s journey.

Beth's adventures in Alaska continue! I enjoyed this book and the continued development of all the characters in Benedict although it isn't my favvorite in the series. The plot sometimes wandered a bit and a few things seem to not settle with the current situation. I still got into this story and can't wait to see what's next for Beth and all her friends! Many thanks to the Author, publisher, and NetGalley for an ARC, opinions are my own.

WOW WOW WOW!!! Paige Shelton delivers - and then some - with Perfect Storm. Beth Rivers has been "hiding" in Benedict, Alaska, since her traumatic kidnapping. Now, her kidnapper, Travis, has escaped from jail back in Missouri and appears to be heading for Alaska. Beth's friends are all on high alert to protect her. Her boyfriend, Tex, takes her camping in the Alaska wilderness where they come across Jin, a woman from a mining community who insists that Bigfoot is murdering men (including her husband). The twists just keep coming as Tex, Beth, and Jin head back to Benedict to alert Gril (the local sheriff) of the murders. To complicate matters, Beth's divorced parents are both inserting themselves in protecting her. And, I need to mention, the supporting cast in this series is one of the best around! This is the sixth installment of the Beth River's series - you don't have to read the others prior to beginning this one as the author catches the reader up - but you will want to go back to the beginning as this series is soooo good! A great big thank you to Ms, Shelton and St. Martin's Press for an advanced reader of Perfect Storm. I absolutely loved it! The opinions expressed are my own.

Book six in Paige Shelton's Wild Alaska series. It's my favorite of her fives series but in all honesty this one was not my favorite. I liked the characters in this series and I love the setting (even though I'm not at all convinced that it is even close to being realistic), but I didn't love the plot of this one.

Have You Seen Bigfoot?

I just want to start by saying…I LOVED this book! This is the sixth installment of the Alaska Wild series. What a whirlwind series this has been. If you’re like me, then you’ve been reading this series since book one too. I love the characters, settings, and the mysteries.

In this book, Beth Rivers and Tex set off on a camping trip to hide out while the news has spread that Beth’s kidnapper has escaped from jail. Paige Shelton masters the balance between trauma, adventure, and mystery well. There is never a dull moment in Benedict, Alaska.

I’m hopeful we’ll receive some more closure in the next book based on the whodunit mystery we followed in this book. I was happy to see the resolution of Travis Walker. My hope is that we get to continue our adventures in Benedict.

Thank you to Minotaur Books & Netgalley for allowing me to receive an advanced copy of Perfect Storm.

Loved it,
Anxiously waiting for the next,

Paige Shelton's Wild Alaska series is one of my favorites, so I was excited to read this latest entry. This entry finally provides answers to the long standing issue of the man who abducted Beth the year before. I look forward to how the series and Beth move forward after this.

Perfect Storm is the sixth installment in Paige Shelton’s Alaska Wild series featuring mystery writer Beth Rivers not so secretly hiding out in Benedict Alaska. With the threat of Beth’s kidnapper having escaped custody and leaving everyone in Benedict on high alert, Beth feels guilty about putting those she cares about in harms way and decides to remove herself from the equation. Loaded down with gear, Beth and Tex set out remote camping but come across one of the individuals from the nearby mining community carrying a body on the back of a horse claiming murder.

When the story doesn’t quite match up to what appears to have happened, there’s another mysterious individual and an apparent Bigfoot, it becomes all hands on deck to keep Beth safe while also figuring out what actually is happening.

A lot of personal resolutions for Beth in this story revolving around her parents as well as a resolute resolve to stay in Benedict and truly make this her home. I liked the conclusion to the long standing threat being resolved and that there wasn’t a clear answer to the mine mystery. I know that might not be a popular opinion cause it’s nice when things are wrapped up neatly in little bows but sometimes they can’t be and that’s life. I’m interested to see what’s in store next for Beth and the residents of Benedict.

Beth Rivers needs to disappear. Her one time kidnapper, Travis, is on his way to her town in Alaska, and she's losing time to get out quickly!
Good book! This book had suspense, intrigue, murder, mystery, a decent who done it and a few crazy twist and turn! The story was interesting! It’s worth reading but was just ok for me! Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!

While NetGalley was kind enough to provide me with an electronic copy of Paige Shelton’s latest Alaska adventure, the opinion is my own. Beth Rivers has been in small town Benedict for a year and has fallen in love with the town and people. All is going well when she takes a call from the detective who arrested her kidnapper, Travis Walker. Walker has escaped shortly after threatening to find and kill Beth. So, her friends, who have become more of a family than her own parents, offer to protect her by basically surrounding her. The group decides that Beth and her boyfriend Tex should go camping in the wilderness where they are sure Walker will never find them. On their way to a cabin deep in the woods, they encounters a problem at a mining camp that sends them back to Benedict. The storyline stays taut and moves fast toward a climax that leaves the reader breathless and a bit exhausted from the trip. Well done and enjoyable book.

Thanks to NetGalley and S. Martin's Press for the opportunity to read Perfect Storm by Paige Shelton. This series based in Alaska is one of my favorite series being written right now. Alaska fascinates me and Ms. Shelton does an excellent job bringing it and the characters to life

Book six in Paige Shelton's Wild Alaska series. It's my favorite of her fives series but in all honesty this one was not my favorite. I liked the characters in this series and I love the setting (even though I'm not at all convinced that it is even close to being realistic), but I didn't love the plot of this one. It did have plenty of action, and provided closure to the long standing issue of the man who had abducted her the year before escaping custody and coming after her, the parallel mystery of people being killed in a remote mining community literally did not get solved at all. And I confess I got kind of irritated by how very central the main character appeared to be to absolutely every other character. I started to find her kind of self-absorbed. Anyway, I'll probably still read the next in the series but I did find this one somewhat disappointing.
