Cloud Puppy is such a sweet graphic novel of friendship and how to handle some of the small differences that can seem like a big deal when you're a child. In the end everything works out between all of the friends. But yeah, such a cute series and I adore it.
Thank you to NetGalley and Simon and Schuster Children's Publishing | Atheneum Books for Young Readers for the advanced copy.

This was another one that I was pretty sure I was not going to like. I can't say that I loved it, but as I've said before, I'm not exactly the target audience. I did see a lot of value in it, though. And I was reading I kept thinking how much my two kids would like it.

This was an upbeat story with a super peppy art style, but it still manages to incorporate age-appropriate social/emotional issues and touches on relevant topics. recommend for younger readers!

The adventures of Cloud Puppy and Berry Rose continue!
I love these characters and cute story lines almost as much as my 7-year-olds.
Much like the first book, our characters have a lot of fun together playing make-believe and figuring out how to navigate the ups and downs of friendship. I love how the problems and lessons in Cloud Puppy are kid-centered and approachable.
This will no doubt be as big of a hit at the first Cloud Puppy.

"Game On!" is the second book in the "Cloud Puppy" middle grade graphic novel series by Kelly Leigh Miller. Cloud Puppy is part cloud and part puppy and is friends with other mythical creatures. In the first story, Cloud Puppy and one of her friends really love playing a farming sim game, but her other friend Jack says that only S-tier games (determined by his older brother) are good and worth playing, Cloud Puppy has to decide if that's true. I enjoyed the gentle friendship and watching the characters work through problems that kids will probably face (like being told by a friend that something they like isn't cool). The illustrations are super cute and bright. A recommended purchase for middle grade graphic novel collections.

Game On! is a surprisingly deep story in the Cloud Puppy series. The illustrations are adorable and highly detailed, engaging kids from page one. The story deals with some pretty difficult problems that kids face in life, which I really loved. Cloud Puppy is being teased for not liking video games that are deemed "cool" by a list one of her classmates relies heavily on. She struggles with the idea, wondering if she should give up the games she loves since others don't think they're cool. In contrast, her friend Jack will only play games that are considered cool, and won't even consider trying any others. The friends decide to share their favorite games and see what they think. In the end, both friends learn some big lessons about peer pressure and being proud of who you are and what you like. A great book to read with younger kids, and awesome for MG readers to enjoy independently.

This was so extremely cute! It had great lessons and examples of wholesome ways for kids to play together and have fun in a supportive and safe environment. I did not realize this was a sequel, but if the first one is as cute as this, I'm sure I'll love it, too.
