Texas Ranger Brianna Macguire became the target of the cartel when she survived a shootout that very few walked away from.
Now back at her family ranch she finds herself and her family the target of the crime bosses of the cartel, that's when the mysterious Cameron Wolfe steps into the picture. A man with a bounty on his head, deep in hiding with a shadowed past, who offers his help to Brianna.
A fast paced suspense, with well written action scenes and a high octane plot. I loved the well developed characters, strong faith, and relationship building along the way. I loved the western setting and gripping storytelling. Well worth the read!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Cameron was only looking for a bit of peace after all that he's been through and some how lands himself into Texas Ranger Brianna case dealing with the cartel. Now they both are working together to take them down before they try to take them out.
Such a fast paced read that every moment was an adventure or at least a close call when it comes to the characters. If you are looking for somewhere to escape to this book just might be it with loads going on to keep the readers on their toes. I loves following along as they together pieced what they needed to to get the cartel members before they get them. I loved getting to know alot more about them as well because in between the moments of rest the readers were really able to get to know them making you feel more connected to the characters. Overall great book I really enjoyed it.
Why is Texas Ranger Bree Maguire a target of more than one shooter? That is exactly what her new neighbor Cameron Wolfe wants to know. A man often plagued by bad memories finds that connections and emotions are at odds
Not only does Cam ultimately save Bree’s life for the second time, but the two also begin to develop a connection, which catches them both by surprise. Given that this is a Christian romantic suspense novel, it is a clean story, but this does not diminish its impact.
Many thanks to Love Inspired Suspense and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.

Texas Revenge Target was the story of Cam & Bree. Unfortunately, it felt all over the place for me and was hard to follow. It felt like their story jumped around and then suddenly they were in love. Maybe I'll try it again one day. But this just wasn't it for me.
What are the chances that two cartel targets would unknowingly become neighbors? He's taken on a new identity to escape one only to end up in a fight for life against another along side a ranger. How many times can someone survive assassination attempts? Will justice win the war?
I received a copy of this book from the author. Review voluntarily given.
Texas Ranger Briana McGuire is on leave from her job, but she is not idle. She is actually quite angry. She is determined to find the fugitive who upended her life. She is about to get a little more than she bargained for, but this fireball on horseback can take it.
Cameron Wolfe has a secret. He just wanted to blend in to the scenery and take care of his ranch. But he cannot leave Bree on her own, especially after they learn that the cartels have placed a bounty on her head. His protective nature will not allow him not to assist her.
As Cameron and Bree flee across the Texas desert, there are not many places to hide. They also have to battle dust storms, torrential rain, thunder and lightning, all while running from bullets. This was an excellent book chock full of action and intrigue. As you learn Cameron's full story, it will appall you. The best part of this book was Cameron sharing his faith with Briana, as somewhere along the way she had lost her way. His faith stood firm, even in crisis. He had lost much in his past and had been devastatingly betrayed, but he had found strength in his faith, and he shared this with her. This electrifying ride across the Texas desert will keep you glued to the pages.
Thank you to Harlequin and NetGalley for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This is a Christian suspense story with some light, clean romance thrown in the mix. A story that takes the readers in a rollercoaster ride of intrigue where the drug cartels are after the main protagonists.
Brianna Macguire is a Texas Ranger lieutenant determined to find the fugitive that was part of the cartel that killed her partner.
Cameron Wolfe has recently bought the ranch adjacent to the one owned by Brianna and her brother Dillon. He has secrets and is currently living a life with a different name and is staying under the radar. Keeping his past and secrets close to his chest.
When Cam realizes a woman is in danger near his property, he goes to her rescue. From that moment on, these two are not only trying to get the bad guys, but also running for their lives.
Mixed in all of this is the reminder to have faith in God to help us be guided in life. To trust Him and never give up hope.
An engaging story that will keep the readers on the edge of their seats.
I was entrusted a copy of this book by Netgalley and Harlequin. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
When Texas Ranger Brianna Macguire is placed on leave, she decides to track down Leon Waring, the leader of a cattle rustling gang. Her search leads her to a confrontation with rancher Cameron Wolfe, and they apprehend Leon, only to face a sniper attack. Thrown together, Bree and Cam must unravel a larger conspiracy while dodging repeated attempts on Bree's life. As they uncover secrets, their chemistry grows, leading to a swift but believable romance. The fast-paced story, filled with action and faith, keeps readers engaged with its messages of justice, salvation, and trust in God's plan.
Texas Ranger Brianna Macguire goes home to the ranch she co owns with her brother after taking down a wanted fugitive. The problem is that the cartel has put a price on her head. While out riding she comes across her new neighbor, Cameron Wolfe. What she doesn't know about Cameron is that he also has a price on his head and is a former DEA agent. When attempts on Brianna's life start happening, she refuses to go into witness protection. She wants to stay and fight.
This is the adventure of Brianna and Cameron as they try to outwit two different cartels to stay alive. There is fast paced action and of course the romance that starts to develop. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book.
I received this book from Love Inspired Suspense via Net/Galley in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated in any way.
Such a riveting storyline that had me captivated from page 1. Very suspenseful and the characters storyline was built around faith and easy to follow. Definitely needs to be put on your must read pile. This book is scheduled to be released October 22, 2024.

When Texas Ranger Brianna Macguire is put on official leave, she can't let go of the idea that she knows where the leader of a cattle rustling gang is hiding. Knowing the Llano Estacado prairie in West Texas like the back of her hand, she sets off to find Leon Waring. Much to her surprise, she finds him in a showdown with a local rancher. Together Cameron Wolfe and Brianna take him down but not before a fire fight ensues with a sniper. Suddenly thrust together, Cam and Brianna find themselves embroiled in a mess bigger than either one of them. When repeated attempts on Bree's life ensue, they have to figure out who's behind the vendetta and the sooner the better. Are the rustlers just that or much more? How does Cam know so much about law enforcement? And who can put an end to the murder and mayhem spreading across Texas? This new-to-author had me from the first page and kept my attention throughout the book. I will definitely be reading more of her novels!
I was gifted a copy of the novel by the publisher through NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.
Another home run for the Love Inspired series!! The amount of suspense and mystery keeps the reader on edge and wondering what is going to happen next. I loved the dynamics between Bree and Cam. I also enjoyed the multiple layers to Cam's story!
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the arc. The opinions are my own.
Texas Revenge Target is a well written romantic suspense. I throughly enjoyed this inspirational book. Great edge of your seat page turner. I recommend this book. I received an advance ebook from the publisher and Netgalley. This is my unbiased review.
Ms. Nelson delivers an action packed, edge of your seat, Christian, romantic suspense in Texas Revenge Target! This story had plenty of action and the storyline moves very quick which keeps you turning the pages fast to wonder what will happen next! Ranger Bree and Cameron have their own backstory that you learn as the story progresses which adds into their personalities and why they are the way they are type deal. Both are very likable characters. The romance is light and in my opinion progresses quickly but it worked for them as you come to realize they are have great chemistry and compatibility, and I am glad they can have a happily ever after. I love the message and reminders of faith and salvation that are woven within the storyline as several times I felt encouraged in each scene. One of my favorite quotes -- "I'm fully convinced no one gets away with anything in this life. They either repent and get it forgiven because of Christ, or if they don't repent and a natural, human consequence like prison never happens, they still have to answer for it before God. His Justice is forever trustworthy and absolutely inevitable."
Thank you to Netgalley and Harlequin for this advanced copy of this book. All my thoughts and opinions in this review are my own.
"What would happen between herself and God, between herself and this man, if she let her guard down? Did she have the courage to find out?"
"People who ran rather than stood had once cost him everything worthwhile in his life— except faith in God, and sometimes he barely clung to that."
For me, this story was absolutely wonderful! The suspense kept you on your toes, the faith kept you encouraged, the friendship kept you wanting to see how it ended.
I really liked this story! Texas Ranger Bree follows after a major cartel lead and is ambushed. Thankfully her neighbor "Cameron" is on the scene and comes to her aid. She finds out there is a price on her head and he opens up and shares he's undercover with someone also gunning (literally) to kill him. With two people that are being forced to possibly uproot their lives if they can't stop these killers, everything is hanging in the balance! Can they escape the grasp of their killers and stop looking over their shoulder? Will they ever be able to resume a regular life and possibly consider a future?
If you like forced proximity romances this is a great one. If you want suspense and mystery this also has it. And this has A LOT of references of faith mixed in which is lovely. The romance is very light and more of a slow burn given the intensity of the suspense in the story, but still, I enjoyed this story all the same.
Rating breakdown:
Suspense: 5 stars
Romance: 3 stars
Overall: 4 stars! *I would recommend!!!
Thank you to Netgalley and Harlequin for this advanced copy. The review is all my own opinion.
Wow, a captivating story, very exciting, perfectly paced, with plenty of action. Great characters who aren't perfect, but complement each other's personalities and make a good team. This book was a page turner, as the pair run from danger around every corner. They trust each other and form a fast friendship based on mutual respect. Their backstories are revealed in time, adding an extra layer to the plot, and a bit of faith. The romance is subtle and squeaky clean.
Looking forward to reading more by this author. Recommend! 5 stars
"Texas Revenge Target" is a Christian romantic suspense. Cameron respected Bree's training and abilities. He was willing to risk himself to protect her, even if it meant giving up the safety he'd gained by taking on a new name and life. Cameron and Bree worked well together, and they came to admire and care for each other as they got to know each other. The suspense was high because they were constantly attacked and faced challenges from the terrain and weather. There was no sex or bad language. Overall, I'd recommend this enjoyable romantic suspense.
