Of course I loved this book! Caitlin always seems to capture my heart from the very beginning so that Iโm all the way invested in the characters. This love story, told over time, is raw, beautiful, heart wrenching and just real. Sometimes we may fall in love with someone, but the timing is just not right.
I loved the swooning feeling I got while reading, but as always, Caitlin brings real life events into her stories that truly reels me in.
Thank you NetGalley and Caitlin Moss for this ARC๐
Beautiful. Heart-wrenching. Tragic. I'm completely lost for words. What a magnificent story that takes you on an emotional rollercoaster. I was completely engrossed with this book and in trying to figure out JP's fortune while grieving for Jules. Jules and JP's love story was so messy that it felt so real. To be frank, I still have this hate feeling towards JP. He wasted so much of Jule's time and love. All the hurt she has to go through because of him and still came out loving him. I guess when you truly love someone, you love all of them, the good, the bad, the beauty and the ugly of it. I really just wished JP had picked Jules through it all. I hope he spends the rest of his life making up for hurting her. The story was so good that I forgot all about the foreshadowing until it happened, which made me giddy and excited to finally read what was supposed to happen.
There were a few errors and misspellings, but overall, it was nothing major. It was a little repetitive at times with Jules and her mother (ei. the constant reminder of their relationship) but the story didn't dwell on it too long, which is gooood.
Thank you, Caitlin Moss and Netgalley for providing me with this ARC.
ARC Review + Highlights: Goodbye Again by Caitlin Moss
A story about a therapist dealing with her own feelings, lol.
Julia Waters doesn't take second chances, but what happens when a fling starts feeling like more?
Caitlin Moss is a wonderful writer. She created such a unique and impressive story. I cried quite a lot. The story would keep breaking and then mending my heart. I smiled so much, though. This story is cute, funny, and sweet, but also heartbreaking. JP and Julia were heartwarming together.
This one had more spice than I have read in Caitlin Moss's books till now. (obv, a fun thing, hehe)
I have 152 highlights in this book. The more highlights I have, usually, it means that I have enjoyed the book more. The sentences were strung together so beautifully. Seeing the loose strings being tied together at the end made my heart happy and made me almost cry again.
This author deserves to be read by more people. This book is a must-read. Also, the covers of her books are so good!

This was so beautiful and complex. The right person wrong time landed in a unique way that way so compelling with Julia and JP. I felt deeply for Audrey, too, as she was likeable and the complexity of the interpersonal relationships propelled this story forward. I was often endlessly frustrated by Emily and Julia's forgiveness of her, but it proved to be important to the story to see that arc unfold with Julia, Emily, and their mother. I was often frustrated by the seemingly surmountable circumstances that kept JP and Julia apart, but how easy is it for any of us to look from the outside at a problem and simplify it, versus how challenging it is when we're in the muck of it. This may be my favorite book I've read all year.
I absolutely adore this author. She has a unique ability to evoke emotion through not only the โbigโ moments in her stories, but also through the seemingly mundane.
JP and Jules have left a taco shaped imprint on my heart. I kept rooting for them chance after chance, and laughed and cried my way through this book. It took me on a ride I wasnโt expecting. SO. GOOD.
Please give us a sequel. Or perhaps a prequel, from Audreyโs POV? Iโll devour it.
3 stars - overall entertaining and engaging but not much more substance to it.
While the invisible string trope is creative and mostly well executed some of the 'nine chances' feel very much forced and unnatural.
This book is marketed as a rom com but is a lot deeper - credit to it for the sensitivity surrounding such topics but I felt as though they were forced into the book purely to add emotional depth.
Likeable characters, a romance worth rooting for, a solid read but not much more than that.
Thank you to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for an advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review.
EARC Book Review: *Goodbye Again* by Caitlyn Moss
Caitlyn Mossโs *Goodbye Again* is a beautifully crafted, emotionally resonant tale of love, fate, and the winding paths that lead us to where we are meant to be. This novel is an evocative exploration of the complexities of love and the mysterious ways in which life brings people together and pulls them apart.
The story centers on Julia Waters, a woman who thrives on logic and simplicity. Her life takes an unexpected turn when she meets JP Chapman, a charismatic kindergarten teacher, during a cross-country flight. Their instant connection and a magical night spent exploring Seattle set the stage for a romance that feels both destined and complicated.
One of the most captivating aspects of *Goodbye Again* is the rich character development. Julia is a relatable protagonist whose journey from a life of predictable order to embracing the unpredictable nature of love is both heartfelt and inspiring. JPโs charm, humor, and genuine kindness make him an endearing counterpart to Julia. Their chemistry is palpable, and their interactions are filled with a delightful blend of wit and warmth.
The novelโs structure, spanning five years and multiple cities, effectively captures the ebb and flow of Julia and JPโs relationship. Careers, physical distance, and missed opportunities serve as formidable obstacles, making their journey feel authentic and relatable. The fortune tellerโs prediction and Juliaโs dreams of her late grandmother add a touch of mysticism, enriching the narrative with layers of depth and meaning.
Mossโs writing is lyrical and engaging, drawing readers into Julia and JPโs world with ease. The pacing is perfect, balancing moments of intense emotion with quieter, reflective scenes. The dialogue is sharp and realistic, adding to the overall charm and believability of the characters and their experiences.
The themes of fate, destiny, and the importance of listening to oneโs heart are beautifully interwoven throughout the story. Juliaโs late grandmotherโs advice, delivered through dreams, serves as a guiding light, helping her navigate the complexities of love and life. This element adds a touching and spiritual dimension to the narrative, making Juliaโs journey all the more profound.
*Goodbye Again* is a testament to the idea that love is rarely straightforward but always worth pursuing. Caitlyn Moss has delivered a novel that is both heartwarming and thought-provoking, filled with moments that will make readers smile, laugh, and perhaps shed a tear or two.
Overall, *Goodbye Again* is a captivating and poignant read that will stay with you long after youโve turned the last page. Itโs a perfect choice for anyone who believes in the power of love and the magic of fate. Highly recommended!

Thank you NetGalley & Caitlin for ARC copy of this book!
You will want to grab a copy of this book,on September 3rd,2024
Wow, this book by Caitlin is truly inspiring! I've read all of her books, but this one stands out as it took me on an emotional rollercoaster. It's a heart-wrenching and intense page-turner that explores the lives of Julia and JP. The characters are so well-developed that they feel real, and their story is both sweet and frustrating at the same time. The chemistry between them is palpable, and the way they fight for their love is admirable. This book tugs at my heartstrings in all the right ways, and it's a perfect example of what happens when you give love a second, third, or ninth chance. I love how the book includes elements like Gramma Ellie's afterlife visitation dreams and the fortune teller's predictions, which add a touch of whimsy to the story. Even the Taco Bell , I would never be able to look at Taco Bell the same way, without thinking about this book ๐ฎ๐ฎ
โBut JP wasnโt a lover. He was a longing. I donโt believe in soulmates but if I did, I think thatโs what a soulmate would feel like: longing. JP could have been that.โ
I canโt stop thinking about this book, yโall. I. AM. OBSESSED. I fell in love with JP & Julia the moment they met. The chemistry between them was just so undeniable. I couldnโt stop rooting for them even when all I wanted to do was throw my Kindle across the room & scream. Iโve probably said this about several books before, but when I say this book made me feel everything, I mean it made me feel EVERYTHING. One minute, I was smiling & giggling, then the next I was frustrated & shaking with anger, then the next I was devastated & sobbing. Youโd think itโs a cute, light-hearted rom-com at first, but itโs a rom-traum through & through. Honestly, I didnโt think this was going to be a 5-star read because I was so mad at JPโiykykโbut overall, I just loved the book too much to give it anything less than a five. I know Iโll be raving about it for a very long time, but my words will never be good enough to do it justice.
This is my fourth Caitlin Moss book this year & Iโve loved every single one, but Goodbye Again is my absolute favorite. I really hope it gets all the love & attention it deserves once itโs published in September!
This book has my heart, as well as JP! I loved that it wasnโt your typical romance book and it kept me wanting more every chapter. I was able to relate to Julia so much and felt like I was falling for JP along side her. This book gave me all the emotions, it made me laugh and cry. Caitlin is such a great writer and now I am having a really hard time trying to decide which of her books is my favorite! Keep writing all the genres you want in a single book because you are doing a great job!
Goodbye Again by Caitlin Moss
Rating: 4/5
Release Date: 3 September 2024
"Goodbye Again" by Caitlin Moss defies expectations, presenting itself as a light romance but delivering a profound emotional journey. This novel offers a compelling exploration of love, destiny, and personal growth that leaves a lasting impact.
Central to the story are Julia and JP, whose contrasting personalities create an engaging dynamic. Julia's analytical nature complements JP's laid-back charm, forming a relationship that feels authentic and captivating. Their chemistry is evident from their initial meeting, immediately drawing readers into their world.
A standout feature is the ethereal presence of Julia's late grandmother, who appears in dreams to offer guidance. This supernatural element elevates the narrative, adding depth and emotional resonance that sets it apart from typical romance novels.
Moss excels in creating vivid settings, particularly in depicting a magical night in Seattle. The fortune teller scene is pivotal, introducing an element of mysticism that underpins the theme of intertwined fates throughout the story.
The novel skilfully navigates between joyous and heartbreaking moments, maintaining reader engagement. It explores missed opportunities and the effects of time and distance on relationships, adding a layer of realism to the romantic plot.
"Goodbye Again" will appeal to contemporary romance fans who appreciate elements of magic and destiny in their stories. Moss has created a narrative that is simultaneously heartwarming and heartrending.
Julia's journey of self-discovery, as she learns to trust her instincts and her grandmother's wisdom, is particularly well-crafted. It serves as a poignant reminder of love's power and the idea that some connections are destined to endure, regardless of life's obstacles. The story lingers in the mind long after the final page, making it difficult to bid farewell to these enchanting characters and their world.
In essence, "Goodbye Again" offers more than a mere romantic escape; it's a touching exploration of love, fate, and the unseen bonds that connect us. This book is ideal for those who believe in second chances and the role of serendipity in bringing people together. Readers should, however, prepare for an emotional journey that goes beyond the surface of a typical romance novel.
Thank you so much to NetGalley, and the author, Caitlin Moss, for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest and fair review.
When I saw that this book had 5 stars on Goodreads I was skeptical, but OMG! This may be my new favorite book. Iโm already recommending it to friends for when it comes out. I laughed, I cried, I screamed at my Kindle and almost threw up from the emotions this book evoked. The love story between JP and Julia is so lovely and heart wrenching. Caitlin Moss knows how to craft and execute a story that strikes deep into your soul and sticks with you. Mark your calendars for this one. You wonโt be sorry.
Goodbye Again by Author Caitlin Moss is, yet again, another beautifully executed intricate love story by one of my favourite authors!
Caitlin Moss has a magical way of articulating and encapsulating the feeling of any given moment, memory, or event that completely fulfills in a very immersive way.
The storyline with the โwrong time, wrong place, right personโ trope is written in such a wonderfully anticipatory and suspenseful way that it keeps you on the edge of your seatโin the best possible way.
The evolution of the story satisfied the deep yearning for connection and romance.
If I had been able to in my schedule I would have read this in one sitting as it captured me right from the beginning.
Every time I read a book written by Caitlin Moss, I wonder if she realizes what a talented writer she is, as I am always delightfully reminded of that each time.
Loved this book! Well done!
Thankyou to Author Caitlin Moss, Netgalley and KDP publishing for the opportunity to read this book ahead of published date.

Wow, this book took me by surprise in the best possible way.
I had never read a Caitlin Moss book and I will definitely be checking her backlog and future books after this one.
We follow Julia and JP, a child therapist and a kindergarten teacher, as they keep finding and missing each other through the years. This is a right-person wrong-time, angsty, second chance romance made for people who love their love with a little bit of pain.
The author's voice allows you to breeze through this complex circumstances the are, at time, excoriating to read because of the empathy you might feel for these characters. Caitlin makes you fall in love with their story and care for their independent processes as well as the possibility of them as a unit.
I could not put it down from page one and found their journey worth the pain they put you through. Again, the author just takes you along and did a marvelous job with the pacing, it's like letting go on a river current, the story just carries you over. It also has just a hint of wonder and magic which I loved, like in real life, it's the little coincidences and signs that make you feel like someone is watching over you, telling you "hey, look over here...what if...?"
Highly recommended, definitely read the content warnings beforehand as they can be sensitive to some audiences. I'm thankful to the author for writing a content note at the beginning.
Thank you so very much to NetGalley and Caitlin Moss for the early copy of this book!
Do not let the sunshiny, yellow cover fool you!! This book is pain and heartbreak and tears wrapped in a fluffy looking package but WOW I am blown away. I'm glutton for punishment and will always love reading books that rip my heart to shreds and this story did just that. My chest actually hurts, my mascara is smudged- whew what a ride.
Julia and JP meet when they are coincidentally seated next to each other on a flight from Chicago to Seattle. Following that initially serendipitous meeting, they have been thrown into each other's orbits continuously over the span of many years. They are the perfect example of "right person, wrong time" and the two could never seem to be on the same page at the same time. Goodbye Again shows us what happens when you give a once-in-a-lifetime love a second (or third, or ninth) chance.
Things I loved about this book:
- the Gramma Elle chapters were so flipping wholesome
- JP and Julia's meet cute was adorable
- the friendship that grew between Julia and Audrey
- Kevin.
- the hospital scene
- I'll never be able to look at Taco Bell again without thinking about this book
Anyone in need of a good cry will love this story!

Every time I read a Caitlin Moss book I think to myself โthey just keep getting better!โ .This one was exactly what I needed and I absolutely loved it.
Caitlin has a way of putting her heart and soul into her books. She writes with such emotion which makes me so connected to the story that I get so sad when they are over!
I loved the main character Julia. She was so relatable and had me giggling out loud. The Taco Bell and ranch dressing obsession? Yep.
J.P was absolutely swoony and is everything you would want in a partner.
This right person wrong time trope was done in such an original way. While this story had lots of laughs, it did also deal with some heavy issues at times and I think that is what makes me love her writing so much. I was crying by the time I got to the end. Please read the authorโs note and youโll get it (IYKYK).
As always, thank you so much Caitlin Moss and netgalley for the ARC! Save this one to your TBR for when it comes out in September 2024!
โIโve been lovedโ
Letโs hear it for another Caitlin book that hit every emotion for me. Every time I dive into one of her books even though Iโm just meeting the characters it immediately feels like home. This was such an easy five stars to give. The FMC is extremely relatable, and I laughed out loud, and even had some tears. And this MMC, what a gem. If you have Netgalley run donโt walk, or wait until release but truly this is one you donโt want to skip.
There is so many highlights I made throughout this book, but Iโll leave you with one of my favorites.
โLove often arrives when you arenโt looking for it. It swoops in on ordinary days and follows you around with every minute that passes. Love is an opportunist presenting ultimatums: fall in love or walk away.โ
Devoured this in just a few sittings. It will break your achy breaky heart and leave you stewing in a vat of longing but you emerge from it filled with love and hope and tenderness.
Loved the characters. Loved the magnetic pull between them. Loved the right person-wrong time trope. Loved Kevin. Loved Grammaโs advice quotes (wish there was a little more to the gramma chapters). Loved the many many many (failed) chancesโjust added to the tension and longing and ache. Loved chapter 42 and how it came to fruition IN CHAPTER 42 (youโre a math wizard genius)
Wow, what an emotional rollercoaster! This book has ALL the feels.
Julia and JP meet on an airplane and form an immediate connection. Two people destined to be together, but pulled apart by life circumstances. Over the next five years the two cross paths several times but somehow the stars never seem to align. Sparks fly and hearts break. What will it take, how long will it take, for these soul mates to finally get their happily ever after?
Beautifully written story thatโll make you smile, cry with the characters, and cross your fingers that maybe *this* time itโll work out for them. I love how the author wove common themes throughout the story over a span of five years- childhood trauma, grief, the field of literature, tacos, Kevin, and so much more. The characters grew throughout the story, closing chapters of their own lives and starting new ones. I would have liked to see a little more into their happily ever after but overall loved this read.
Absolutely love the Easter egg millennial references! A great amount of humor mixed in with romance and had just enough sauciness. Will be reading more of her books for sure!
