Lindsay Squire is one of my favourite witchcraft authors out there. Her content is accessible, informative, and able to be tailored easily to each person’s individual practice. I am always looking for inspiration for more spells, and The Witch’s Book of Spells is a great resource for a wide range of workings.

This is a great little spellbook! It’s not particularly special in terms of magic books but it’s very thorough and gives a brief overview of a wide variety of components of witch craft. I like that it has a preface where the importance of ethics and good intentions are. The only thing a bit underwhelming were the incantations for the spells. They were fairly generic and weren’t very creative, but it had a section on editing the spells for yourself so there’s always the opportunity to use these spells as a jumping point and from there you can make your own, depending on how advanced one is in witch craft.

I picked this book after a rewatch of "Practical Magic", the cult movie that is reportedly being revived for a modern take. For a curious dabbler this book is a great entry point, with really beautiful graphics and "spells" with an emphasis on grounding and energy - with the whole thing feeling akin to a wellness ritual. It also covers a wide variety of life instances, family, abundance, career, health and relationships. It acts more like a manual/textbook and while I didn't read it cover to cover, it was a fun book to have on hand for a tongue-in-cheek solution to fix my friend's love life!

I've followed Lindsay on Instagram for a long time, and I was so excited to see that she'd written a book of spells. This book is well-organized by different topics (love, career, family, protection, etc.), and also by seasons and moon phases. There are so many spells and rituals, and most use easy-to-find ingredients. The correspondence section at the end is also helpful for those who want to mix and match ingredients but keep the essence of a spell. This would be a great resource for any witchy person looking for a general selection of spells and rituals.

First, I loved how easily this spell book was written - spells were well written and easy to do. I loved the pictures and how much color was in them and I also really loved how this book was such an easy read for me to get through I could easily read through some of the Spells and see if I had done the ingredients and see if I needed to do that spell at this time it's a super simple spell book to have on your shelf and I appreciated that as a baby witch and I have plans on possibly buying this for my witchcraft shelf this year.
